What are the odds of the right box holding either one?

1k is nothing box b every time until the chances are less than a percent
Is there really any difference between brands of RAM?
>>56636954
Sometimes it's rated to a higher overclock, but that's not really brand because nearly every big brand makes nearly every kind of ram
The ram market is like the vegetable market, it's so basic and oversupplied that everybody has to sell their specific ram at the same price
>>56636954
Hynix, Elpida, Micron, Samsung are the only ones you should be buying.
>>56636999
And they have to paint their cucumbers red and put a sticker that says "xXgamingproXx" on their zucchinis so that teenagers will be more likely to buy them.
>standard kernel module for sound can't into multi-input.
>pulseaudio built to fix that.
>jack & jack2 try to lower sound latency and can't be used at the same as pulse.
And that's barely even scratching the surface of issues of sound on linux. Why is it so garbage?
Install Windows 10
It just works comrade!
>>56638285
I might give homOSX a spin if I ever build a computer with an intel cpu.
>>56638285
Windows can't into multi input either.

>>56636865
Whoever saying that under no circumstance whatsoever would ever buy a pone without the jack is memeing. What if you had to choose between one of the first military cellphone models from 35 years ago or something like a samsung galaxy without a headphone jack? What would you pick? See, there's a situation where you'd buy a pone without a headphone jack, thus you should vote yes.
Hackintosh fags,
I'm trying to install a dual boot hackintosh system on my new custom PC for app development and other reasons. I'm trying to find out the best method of approach. I've been doing the unibeast approach and it's my 3rd attempt, it's not turning out to be as simple as Tonymacx86 makes it seem.
Is Niresh a better approach?
Are you enjoying your hackintosh?
General Hackintosh thread
>>56636771
The Unibeast worked well for me. Never tried the Niresh one.
Mine is working pretty good even if i'm scared to update from El Capitan to Sierra.
I have issues with some Adobe products, having kernel panics when launching them so I just tried with older versions and it worked.
Good luck anon
>hacking, working hard and expending money to use proprietary software
>>56636771
depends. what problems do you have? and did you try to boot with -x -v
Also does anyone know if 290x works with Sierra?
Thoughts on T-Mobile?
Good.
I'm grandfathered on $100 for 2 "truly" unlimited lines(Each line has a 26GB softcap until "deprioritation")
>>56636755
>good because I got a grandfathered deal that they don't offer anymore
>>56636755
tmobile grand father here aswell,
i get unlimited data talk and text for 12 bucks
Have you made money by buying broken tech, fixing it and re-selling it?
>>56636728
Back in the late 90's when I was in college I did. These days there isn't a whole lot of coin to be made that way aside from servicing a niche market. You might be able to make some good money refurbing certain thinkpads and librebooting them, for example, but just fixing up for parts shit these days is tight as fuck due to all the chinks in on the business already.
>>56636728
im slowly getting into synth refurbishing but finds are rare and buyers of rebuilt kit dont want to pay top dollar for obvious reasons
>>56636728
yep
so do what do we actually need snapdragon 820 and 4GB of ram in our phones for? we don't even have decent games that can actually take advantage of that power yet.
Do you need a GTX 1080 and 16GiB of ram in your desktop?
>>56636545
We don't, but people want the best and they spend stupid.
My mt6753 works great for me.
>>56636545
Because there's literally like 2 phones with a Snappy 650/52 in it and 1 of them is a chinphone
Why do people want keyboards on a modern smartphone?
Do they not realize even $700 flagship phones would have mushy keyboards, shitty hinges, and the keys to not last even a year?
>>56636509
The keyboard in my x10 mini pro lasted 3 yearsand it wasn't the part that died, forcing me to upgrade.
What are you on about op?
>first smartphone was a droid 2 global
>slide out keyboard
>6 years old
>hardware still works completely fine and feels nice
Just because you've used shitty phones doesn't mean nice ones that use a keyboard can't exist.
Literally the only downside is that it makes the phone thicker, which is "bad marketing."
>>56636509
one word: emulation
Network/Server fags, what program do you use to diagram your network topologies?
I'm getting tired of doing everything in GIMP
Packet tracer. Works well and has a lot of options for hardware

Here's a fantastic performance that he did a few years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J89IY3Ss2Mk

Surely someone here on /g/ loves synthesizers, can't just be me
literally who
>>56636372
There is a good documentary on Netflix about the development of synthesizers called "I Dream of Wires"
the meme about electrical engineering being harder than computer science is one of the most misleading technology related things 2bh. if it's so hard, why aren't ee's paid more than cs'es? checkmate

>>56636292
Wow u r a nice man
>>56636245
EE is full of insecure normies only in it for the money so it's not surprising there's a lot more faggots talking it up to feel smart
>>56636292 is right though there's cool shit in both, I like to make fun of the EEtards in my CS courses but honestly I'm no better sitting here wasting away on /v/'s water cooler instead of studying and learning something useful
>Spent 3 hours troubleshooting a recently-installed inaccessible server
>Server was only """"down"""" because an idiot tech plunged in the wrong video output cables
I don't know who's the bigger retard, me for not discovering the problem right away, or the tech who fucked up the cables in the first place.
always check the retard things first

god damn if this isn't the best advice for every developer or it guy

>his tablet doesn't have USB type A, micro USB expansion slot, micro HDMI, and an 18w proprietary charger.
What are you doing anon?
>>56636213
I wish they'd make more chunky tablets like this, but with 2 USB 3.0 ports instead, and other shit being updated.
Mine has 2x USB-A, micro-hdmi, 1x mini usb, full sized SD card reader, a 16:10 screen and 20 hours of battery life.
>>56637090
Yeah, that would be nice

Seikos are, generally, between 50 and 500,000 USD.
>>56636263
Because they have so many operations at different levels. They got their grand seiko and Credor operations putting out numbers larger than some high end swiss manufacturers. They also got Seiko 5 operation that's as big as some other inexpensive makers making their entire line.
Seiko sweet spots are 50, 500, 5000. Real good watches. Or like 2Kish for a 8R48 triple vehicle clutch chrono is also a fantastic deal.
