hey
i wanna gut my 2011 macbook pro and build a small mini-ITX desktop.
so far, the only thing i've found that's compatible is the ASRock IMB-170-V, cuz the stupid macbook has an i7-2640M.
is there anything that I'm missing? I don't really have the money to do a real build, but i'm tired of this mac bullshit. i've got my ram, i've got my case, my power supply, my video card, i just don't have the new mobo.
wat do, /g/uise
>>56634891
Buy a barebones T420 and stick the 2640M in there.
>>56634891
99% chance that the cpu is soldered to the board because apple are kikes like that
>>56636288
Applel are kikes, but they don't name Intel's CPUs for them. M are generally not soldered. If it was it would likely have a U suffix.
Yes, we know everything already is from China but in here we discuss the no/low-name cheap shit you see on Gearbest, AliExpress, eBay and similar sites.

I know of /g/'s love of Java, but I'm having trouble with an if then statement for a pdf I'm making.
I have very little programming experience, but I got pretty far on what I know from Basic Java.
What I need to know if it's possible to make a field render two statements, one after another, if both if statements are correct. I'd really rather not have to make a statement for each combination of statements, as I've got 10+ statements in both fields, meaning over 100 possible combinations.
For example this would be the custom calculation field of the box I want filled:
if (getField("Field1").value === "Butts") event.value = "Butts"
if (getField("Field1").value === "Dicks") event.value = "Dicks"
if (getField("Field2").value === "Asses") event.value = "Asses"
if (getField("Field2").value === "Cocks") event.value = "Cocks"
I want it to read:
Butts
Asses
If I choose both first statements, instead of having to make a statement for each combination.
Event.value = getField("field1").tostring();

Why in the name of god?
>>56634757
The processor isn't powerful enough for it and you lack the internal memory to get the basic bootloader there plus the system.
Even so you're better getting software mod and installing emulators on it.
Are there any decent hard drive docks or bays or drive kits out there?
All the dual bay ones on Amazon, upon closer inspection, are overpriced and faulty garbage, if the critical reviews are anything to go by. I've got a Sabrent one that I've had for like two years that likes to randomly disconnect or die, regardless of the state of the drive, and now that I'm in need of a second one for HDD cloning, I'd like to just grab two of something that isn't that piece of shit.
>dock
No. Internal is the only way to go.
>>56634673
How about those drive kits that just convert IDE/SATA to USB and have an AC adapter for power?
I'm also interested in this.
I'm starting to think picking up an old desktop from the roadside would give me a better reliability/price ratio for a disk-cloning setup.

Let's talk about LISP while I set up my Emacs box.
Haskell also welcome, functional languages or anything that deviates from the Algol paradigm as well.
What do you like about lisp/haskell?
etcetera
>>56634295
I like Emacs Lisp. It's more pragmatic than languages like Haskell, but of course pays a price for that
I just like the simple syntax... everything is wrapped in ()
Also macros are pretty neat.
I just hate how verbose it is by default with functions like make-array
>>56635619
That's why I think it's ideal for larger programs. Over time you accumulate shorthands and macros to a point you have your very own language within a language.
