Well XP and 7 were both quite legit. I'm not quite sure between 95 and 98 which was better but afaik 98 was decent. Right now we're in some weird stage as far as software is concerned. They're fucking us in the ass with a strap-on without even hiding and it looks like most people either don't know what's going on or are willing to take it.

It gives you more power than just about any imperative language.

With #DEFINEs, overloading, and other bullshit, you can practically write your own language with it.

No garbage collection and no unboxing means you can bitfiddle data structures at the low level as well as build great castles of abstraction and decide exactly what resides where in memory at all times.

So it is unique in that it has a foot in two worlds of low level and high level and refuses to give up any power for safety. With great power comes great responsibility.

To all that are new to the Android world of ROM's. Here's all you need to use (providing your phone is supported) ...

>TWRP for your recovery
>Official Cyanogenmod for your daily driver ROM
>Open GApps Project or no Gapps if you prefer to use the AOSP alternatives
>Privacyguard for root, built into Cyanogenmod, turn it on in developer tools
>Xposed framework
>Adaway for a general ad blocker (get it off F-Droid), and Xposed youtube adblock module for blocking youtube adds
>Nova Launcher Pro for your primary launcher

All other roms are pure bullshit, and all they offer are tweaks that can mostly be added in with the Xposed Framework.

That's it. Good luck not bricking your phone. Once you get past that growing pain, you can enjoy the latest Android OS on most older devices out there.

If you're looking for a phone specifically to root and run ROM's, check out the XDA forums for the phone you have in mind, and make sure there's an active modding community for the exact model of phone you want to buy.

As for new phones, you're better off sticking with your stock OS. I prefer ROM's for older phones that are no longer updated by the manufacture.

Nice shilling, ina ll seriousness I own a Macbook Pro. To start of when they break you are fucked, the repair costs are very high. Also my macbook pro overheats quite regularly which is quite the nuisance. Further it's lacking in the games department and software in general. No web support of safari either (which is ver annoying) because for some reason.... chrome destroys your battery life.

The only Mac worth buying is a MacPro and even that's pushing it. You could build a machine that outperforms a loaded MacPro for half the cost, run macOS on it and get more performance.

If you just want to be able to run macOS, either make a machine yourself or buy a Mac mini.
