so do what do we actually need snapdragon 820 and 4GB of ram in our phones for? we don't even have decent games that can actually take advantage of that power yet.
Do you need a GTX 1080 and 16GiB of ram in your desktop?

We don't, but people want the best and they spend stupid.
My mt6753 works great for me.

Because there's literally like 2 phones with a Snappy 650/52 in it and 1 of them is a chinphone
One word: responsiveness
>>56636620
why is my SanDisk Clip Zip more responsive than my LG G5?
>>56636606
yeah but there's always SD 617/801/805
>>56636545
To offset android lag.
And it's probably still not enough.
>>56636981
Because your little PMP uses a very simple single-use (likely real-time) OS whereas your LG G5 is a general purpose computer that could potentially be doing hundreds of things at once. Something also tells me you don't maintain your G5 very well though if you're having responsiveness issues.

You can trade UI lag for app startup lag. Just look at the dev options.
>>56637035
this is the joke, responsiveness can be done with less powerful processor, it's just the framework which fucks everything over again.
>>56637060
Sometimes a trade-off for a more powerful framework is worth it for a slight loss in responsiveness. But then that loss in responsiveness can be made up for by having more powerful hardware, resulting in an overall better device. I'd take an LG G5 over a Clip Zip any day.
