Has technology managed to make you feel happier?
>>57603959
In a broad sense, yes.
Listening to music counts I guess. But otherwise no, I honestly can't think of a time technology made me happier.
I mean sure, I used to be a gamerfag big time, and I suppose that made me happy. But it wasn't real happiness. When I look back on all the time I spent playing games it fills me with regret.
I used to play the guitar a whole lot. Not discussed much around here but I'd argue it's relevant. But that made me sad too because I hit a wall with it and haven't touched it since.
I'm just not a happy person in general though, so I'm biased. I'm good at faking it.

no, they're just crying about decades of poor architecture choices
Rightly so, I might add if you consider the current cancerous state of software

What sound card still have synth/sound chips like time ago?
Why did sound card went from a necessary accesory to niche hardware and how do we make them popular again?
>>57603601
Nothing has synth chips, it's all digital.
Plebs don't care about sound cards so that's why they're onboard equipment now.
>>57603666
Aren't synth chips digital?

Why is it that on some games, when I crank every single setting up I lose some serious frames even though I'm only using oike 3-5gb of VRAM out of my 8?
Is my i5-4460 the bottleneck?
VRAM isnt everything, you wont always use all of it or even close.

Ah so it has more to do with the other specs.. at this point, is it the 390 that is not doing well or the i5? I always heard i5 is all you need for games but it lags hard when I try to do anything intensive such as record gameplay.
How do i put 2 images side by side

Do you think they're done or will they surprise everyone with an updated mac pro at some point?
Would it even hurt them to ditch the pro market?
>>57603394
That was the updated mac pro. I mean why would they when they kept the silver tower for like 10 years or so
>Has Apple abandoned the pro market?
Yes, about 10-15 years ago.

Agree.
I'm running Arch Linux and recently switched from Nvidia to Nouveau drivers, but I'm having noticeable performance issues in games/gaming. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive won't run smoothly at all, my frames drop to single digits on the menu and the mouse is extremely choppy. Not a lot of information online...Any tips?
Another example would be a fresh, vanilla install of Minecraft simply runs at 10-15 at best, in comparison to 100+ I would easily get with the Nvidia drivers. My GPU is an EVGA gtx 560ti, the 2GB version. Never had issues before.
Driver version is "xf86-video-nouveau 1.0.13-1"
>>57603108
use the nvidia drivers instead, nouveau is garbo.
>>57603202
I switched from the Nvidia drivers due to performance and constant buggy issues. I'd rather not have to select between "Bad, or also bad". Thank you, though.
>>57603225
well then you should've bought AMD.
