How
so many ignorant plebs on this board that are still using 60 Hz displays.
pic related. it's what you brainless faggots can't afford to have
enjoy your shitty viewing angles and colours varying from top to bottom of the display
>>57599027
If I don't spoil myself, I wont need it.
Therefore I don't need it.
>>57599027
i'm not a gaymurrr faggot like you so i have no use for it
>he bought AMD cpu for gayming
Fucking poorfags
>>57599025
I would have gotten intel instead but /g/ had to shill the shit out of AMD and now I got this crap that gives me half of the FPS a fucking i3 gives.
Legit hate all you faggots.
>>57599154
>listening to /g/
still running a phenom II 965
still gaming with no issues
all games released within the last 5 years have been utter garbage anyway, but i can still run gta5 at max
Do you have any bugs in open source software that need fixing?
Any new features you'd like to see?
Post them here.
In screenfetch I'd like to see the Devuan logo. Already opened an issue.
I'd also like to see caching and other things improved in vichan, because that's what my imageboard runs on (my forum runs on MyBB. Perfect imo)
I'd like to see a bug free react os 1.0 please.
enjoy your next 50 years faggot

thats some magical display tech right there, lighting up portions of individual pixels and all.
When will GNU even begin to compete with such innovation?

whats the point of this? cooling?

To piss freetards off.

How does/g/ typically browse /g/?
PC? Laptop? Phone? Tablet?
>>57598849
I generally do not connect to /g/ from my own machine, aside from a generals I have some special relationship with. I usually fetch /g/ from other sites by sending mail to a program (see git://git.gnu.org/womb/hacks.git) that fetches them, much like wget, and then mails them back to me. Then I look at /g/ using a web browser, unless it is easy to see the text in the HTML page directly. I usually try lynx first, then a graphical browser if the page needs it (using konqueror, which won't fetch from other sites in such a situation).
I occasionally also browse /a/ using IceCat via Tor. Except for rare cases, I do not identify myself to them. I think that is enough to prevent my shitposting from being connected with me. IceCat blocks tracking tags and most fingerprinting methods.
I print out every page and read them in my comfychair by the fire.
>>57598953
The feds do not care that you look at hentai on a Taiwanese clipart website. I mean fuck, /pol/ memed a reality tv start to President and the feds did nothing to them.
I have failed /g/, the meme has beaten me. Spent a good portion of today installing gentoo on the t420, only to not have grub load. I actually have no idea where to go from here, the install handbook literally just says to reboot into the system after installing grub, and procede to the next section, but had nothing about if grub fails to start. Thoughts?
Read the manual
Why are you posting here you fucking imbecile?
Lurk more and use the google machine.
Install Gentoo
Windows binaries can now be invoked directly from the Windows Subsystem for Linux command line. This gives users the ability to interact with their Windows environment and system in a way that has not been possible. As a quick example, it is now possible for users to run the following commands:
```
$ export PATH=$PATH:/mnt/c/Windows/System32
$ notepad.exe
$ ipconfig.exe | grep IPv4 | cut -d: -f2
$ ls -la | findstr.exe foo.txt
$ cmd.exe /c dir
```
Ubuntu 16.04 (Xenial) is now installed for all new WSL instances.
When will we able able to run something like tmux in the background? WSL literally kills itself each time you close the terminal window
So fucking DOPE
>>57598817
Oh damn, looks like windows added another feature to it's shitty Linux has supported the closed-source Windows API well enough to run games for several years already. Wow, thanks MS!
>Turn on your computer
>See this
How do you react?
>>57598693
>aww

>wait, how did this happen on GNU/Linux?
>>57598704
A virus installed the ultimate malware. Your computer is infected with Windows
>>57598693
A Wintoddler must have broken into my house and installed Windows XP for some reason.
I've been offered a PS3 that can still run Linux.
Is it worth it? Or is it severely underpowered and only useful if you have a huge amount of number crunching to do?
I have a ps3 that can still "run" Linux. Ppc only though so its shit
>>57598640
Its CPU isn't backdoored.
>>57598661
No one cares.
>>57598640
Offered? To buy? As a gift?
How the fuck do you want us to answer your question with such lack of detail
What are some tips and tricks to making Windows 7 faster?
I remember a lot of configs you could do in the XP days.
Install Gentoo
Install Windows 10
Install Solus
why would you spend money on a chromebook when you can just buy a cheap thinkpad and install remix OS on it?
>play store with all apps and games available.
>it includes a toolkit to bind keyboard buttons on touchscreen ones from every app or game.
>enjoying android with no lag at all due the fact that laptop/pc hardware is far superior to any existent mobile top flagship device.
fat fucks that start screaming muh chink botnet gtfo, chromebooks are also a huge google botnet aswell and who the hell would be interested anyway of what chinese porn cartoons you watch.
>>57598609
Because I want a chromebook. They're not expensive enough to bother with all your bs.
>>57598609
Have you actually run it? It doesn't run that great...
>>57598625
Apple is too expensive.
hey /g/uys, I tried out a t420 for the first time at a local pc recycling store today and I'm in love.
The red clit alone sold me on Thinkpads. I'll be buying this t420 very soon as my main computer:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lenovo-ThinkPad-T420-Core-i5-2520M-2-5Ghz-1600-900-HD-4GB-180GB-SSD-Win8-1Pro-/112130927005?hash=item1a1b86299d:g:MG0AAOSwCGVX7cS0
Until I have my own qt Thinkpad T420, please post your setups for a fellow anon to vicariously indulge in
Cancer screen
>>57598504
get t430 instead
What's so good about the clit thing?
I never tried one of those, but honestly I always imagine it less usable than a trackpad. Can you move it in more than 8 directions?
Is it normal for IPS screens to get hot?
Just turned my pc off and the monitor is alarmingly hot to the touch, it's been on for a couple of hours.
>>57598499
LCD screens have fluorescent tubes in them. Even though fluorescent tubes don't get burning hot like incandescent light bulbs, they still get warm.
>Vegeta
>short for vegetarian
Explains why he always jobs so hard
>>57598546
It felt (just a guess) something like 20-30 degrees over ambient.
It's hot as balls here in Sydney though so that's not exactly helping...
"Anon is upstairs playing on his computer"
"What does he even do on it anyway?"
I live alone, my ex left last month.
watching you through the hidden tv camera

Also I don't allow people in my apartment, It's highly awkward if the guest is not my gf, parents or colleagues
