My roommate and I share an office space where we work and sometimes play video games. I'm looking for a microphone that won't pick up background noise when he is talking. I am fine with either a microphone or gaming headset

TL;DR
I need either a good mic that block background noise or a gaming headset that does the same.

>>
Just run your mic through a program with a noise gate on your computer.

Or if you feeling retarded, throw a sock over it.
>>
>>57603077
You just need a windscreen.
>>
>>57603077
Any good headset should do this. Alternately creative has their array mic thing with their higher-end Sound Blaster Z.

Denizens of /g/! We call upon you to take control of your digital lives, to reject proprietary ideologies and hidden agendas! For many of you, it may already be too late. Your pineal glands calcified and brainwaves permanently altered to serve the forces of globalism. Take heed, lest you fall into the traps set by the Evil Ones! These beasts will stop at nothing to have total reign over your "private" and "public" lives. Hearken unto the call of the Sacred Being, spreading the wisdom of the True Path! Only through uprising against the totalitarian regime by the use of Free Software and Hardware, will they cease to control us! One simple change would be to obfuscate your Internet traffic through trusted VPNs that use architectures that are known to be safe, such as pre-Oracle SPARC or MIPS. Naysayers jabber about, saying they have nothing to hide, but in truth, everyone has something to hide, no matter how small it may be. Thus, we must again return to the GNUtanari and see that it rise above the forces of oppression! This is the only way that we, as a species, will ever be truly free.

Stuck using an iphone for a month or two, how can I get some music on this thing without buying it

Add your MP3 collection to iTunes, then transfer it over. You don't have to buy a thing.
>>
>>57602882
Not OP but does itunes work ok in a VM? I don't want that cancer on my machine.
>>
>>57602905
Depends on your PC. If you can use a VM, you can use iTunes.

Where is someone supposed to learn to get the software for and use IRC, anyway? It seems like one of those things that wouldn't be easy to find in libraries and while my community college teaches outdated shit, you can't count on it being the shit you're after.

You're not. Because people who still use IRC are pathetic elitists, just like people who still partake in Usenet discussions.

Has Via ever been relevant? That's a more pertinent question.

Their chips are more expensive than Intel and AMD equivalents, less power efficient and come with considerably worse IGPs. So, what are they good for? Why are they still going and how?

Alright anons, I have used win 7 on a VM for a while, but I think things are starting to show age, should I go for 8.1 or straight to the 10 botnet 3.0 electric bogaloo?

Any of you anons know what are the biggest differences and caveats of choosing one or the other?

>inb4 install gentoo, I already said this shit is for my gaymen on a vm.

8.1 with classic start is comfy
>>
>>57602447
Yeah anon that's the thing that made me consider 8.1 to begin with, seems easy to remove all that crap and go back to win 7 look and feel.
The simpler the better imo, I just need to open steam shit and pirated games anyways.
>>
>>57602417
Whatever you do, don't move to Win10. I did on muh Thinkpad, here's the results
>PAE doesn't work properly, only 3 gigabytes of memory is recognized by computer
>trackpoint works or it doesn't, completely arbitrarily
>random updates that are forced on you
>even basic shit like choosing a default PDF reader is broken
Windows 10 is a nightmare of an OS.

Don't use the Code::blocks builtin wizard, you have to download another script for SFML2+ because C::B is ancient as shit right now and development has stopped.
Or better yet, set it up on your own, it's a matter of 2 clicks.
