How's grade school treating you?
You don't learn c to actually write c. You learn it to get a better image of how computers work, and the apply that knowledge to higher level languages.

Is Xfce decent? Someone told me it has a problem with tearing?
>kde too tacky for my tastes
>gnome too limited
>mate feels too old
>>58247177
xfce is ugly by default but you can make it look okay. It's very configurable. Pic related is my old desktop.
XFCE has great performance. Yes, it looks ugly by default, but you can easily fix that. It's not a good practice to judge DEs by what they look like default imo.
if you get tearing just install compton. i dont need it anymore because the nvidia 375 drivers fixed the problems with dual monitors and the forcefullcomposition option

No. However NEET basement dwellers will say otherwise.
Atom is by far the most powerful general purpose text editor at the moment. I will admit it was trash when it came out first but since then it really has come a long way.
