Botnet edition(unifi)

Can anything compete with the Unifi botnet?

It is dumb down GUI that any Normalfag can use.It is not overpriced, yet is apple tier in user experience.

Sure a pfsense routers will always be better.
But the price is good, and the don't charge for the OS

Mikrotik seems to be the close contender, but they charge for the OS and have weirdo levels.
How is zyxel?

I have a FTTH modem that use PPPoE. what the difference between setting up a port in bridge versus turning it into L2 mode?

also what is vlan tagging and how I add that to a router?

Is there other ways to use a router without double Nat of modem + new router, and how do you do multi router setups?

Good APs
>mikrotik
Godlike stuff always works and has sweet CLI.
Also they don't really charge for the OS if you buy the routers/switch/AP
You usually get routerOS License with it.

Is there anything more infuriating than this shit? I tried googling but found nothing that helped, even when I tried to put the file name in to the command line while compiling, like stack overflow talks about.

Would you recommend an amateur to set up his own cloud? I am generally concerned about the security.

I have a PC left that could be connected to the internet 24/7.

At first: What OS should I install for maximum security and ease to set up?

Please tell me your thoughts and experiences.

Learning new things never hurt anyone except the jews, so i say you should go for it.

Follow the guide on their website and be happy.

Manually upgrading Owncloud/Nextcloud is insanely easy, you copy one folder and done.
>>
>>58241973

Does your 24/7 PC have a CPU that supports virtualization? If so, great. Blow out the OS and install KVM/ESXi/Hyper-V depending on your comfort level, (You can always change platforms later), and start setting up the services you want as separate VMs or containers.

Personally I'd prefer to use an OpenVPN server + File server to access my files remotely. At least that way you know the files are protected in transit.

I don't know much about OwnCloud, but if it's browser based I'd imagine you'd need a trusted certificate on the box to make sure your transfers are secure.

>Microsoft has been pouring in billions to build a quantum computer. Where others were contented with research about the matter, Microsoft is taking matters into their own hands and is already braiding anyons, which will provide the building blocks to the supercomputer.
>Microsoft started their research on quantum computing since 2005 under the supervision of Michael Freedman. They set up a lab called Station Q which was solely devoted to quantum computing.
>Todd Holmdahl, a veteran engineer and the director of Microsoft's effort towards this technology, said that they are already close to creating the basic building block that will enable them to create the supercomputer. Once they have that, Holmdahl said that they will have a road map that will allow them to go thousands of qubits.

Anyone here knows how Google manages it's DB?

I bet they created their own database system but how do they manage the indexDB? It has to be terabytes of data, do they split it in many smaller DBs and run querys on every singles one while searching or is it really a super huge db?

Don't they use Hadoop or something?

I have an ADSL line that can reach a download speed of about 700KB/s. However, since a couple of days, whenever I start a torrent, my Internet speed massively slows down - torrents download at only 50KB/s and everything else is slow as shit, I can barely load any webpage.

I tried limiting the number of TCP connections in my torrent client to 100 (from 500), I tried turning off any option on my router that may impact performance, I tried with another computer,... but I can't figure out what's causing the slow down.

Any idea?

very insightful answer, thanks for your contribution

however, it doesn't solve my issue
>>
>>58241814
The internet speed is constrained by your cdrom drive. When you start the internet from your AOL cd you get full speed out of the box. When you start torrenting, some of the speed is given to the torrents, making the rest of the internet slow. It's a trade off, you either torrent and surf slow, or surf fast and not torrent.

If communism is so bad why are communists so good at making Linux distros?

Just look at Ubuntu and Redhat/Fedora OpenSuse etc. None of them can compete with what the chinks have made.

Communism isn't bad at all, but the American propaganda surrounding it is fucking it's reputation. Regarding this topic, the problem is deeply rooted into marxism vs capitalism fight. Big corporations don't want people to make their own OS because that would prove we don't need them and we can progress without them. So keep using Linux, investing into bitcoin and other anarcho-socialist stuff, the future is bright

So which one is it? Btw. 50% of those titles give literally no performance gains for both AMD and Nvidia, mostly because slapping a dx12 patch on dx11 game does jack shit.
