I'm trying to use tor, which I used years ago for Silk Road and now I'm using a MacBook to try and get on but it's being a fuck. It's all installed and loads up but whenever I try to put any link in it just loads for two minutes then says the connection timed out. Can anyone tell me what the fuck I'm meant to do? There's nothing online that helps
>Macbook
Found your problem.

Why would anyone purchase a thinkpad, let alone this heap of garbage?
it might seem like a good idea if you're a gullible twit who thinks this board has any value beyond shitposting
Because it's 130 dollars?
>>58978088
congratulations, you selected the single worst thinkpad in existence
now do the same with macbooks
So, in looking for a good, affordable wireless router.... any suggestions???
if dubs just get the one you posted
>>58978031
AIOs are shit, get a seperate router or build your own then get a proper AP. These AIO router/AP combos are usually targeted at consumers who don't know better
depends what affordable means to you, give us a budget.

>Sony TVs use Samsung LCD panels
The whole consumer electronics industry is crashing because no one is willing to pay for quality anymore. People just buy whatever the cheapest, TV, sound bar, etc... is at Wal-Mart.

The graph continues to the right.
netvc replaces all the old shit, and ends an era of proprietary video codec bullshit.
On the audio front, opus beats the crap of other lossy codecs, whereas flac is king of lossless.
It's over. Bye bye proprietary crap. Good riddance.
>>58979230
I haven't heard any progress on the Daala front in ages. What the hell is the timeline for that?
>>58979313
Xiph always sucked for video, I don't even bother anymore.
this is a thread where you compete to see who can complete a task in the most inefficient, roundabout way possible. You may use any language. The only rule is that your code must work and complete the task listed below.
>>58976989
not here to do your homework
creative approach tho faggot
>>58977003
Naw, I just saw some yanderedev code in a /v/ thread and I want to see just how complicated one can make a simple task.
Anyways, go to this website:
https://adriann.github.io/programming_problems.html
pick one of the tasks and type up an abomination
I can't even imagine writing software in more lines of code than needed unless it's just weak ass shit like putting every line of code into a void function operating on global variables.
There's no fun in that.
Writing shit in as few characters as possible is much more exciting.
Could mind/consciousness uploading ever work?
Let's say you were able to upload your mind and die in the process, wouldn't mind in the computer simply be a copy of yourself with different experiences?
>>58976977
No. You are what you are because your brain is a physical structure. Its pure hardware, it has no code, or OS. You cant upload physical matter into digital. You can maybe copy your self into digital pattern, but since your physical brain will remain, that will be you, and when that dies, you cease to exist.
You would essentially need to replace every neurons, and cell in your braind with artificial components, and when your entire brain is artificial, then you dont have to worry about dying.
Then the problem essentially becomes the ship of Theseus paradox. If you slowly replace every part of your brain with an artificial one, are you still you?
>>58977078
>You cant upload physical matter into digital.
but what if we could
>>58977120
If you're just going to come up with fake possibilities for fictional view of the universe then yeah you might aswell say you can do whatever the fuck you want. But as it stands, that's a total nonsense idea with no basis in reality.
I've always liked the direction apple took with iphones and macbooks. Especially with their trackpads and retina screen designs (along with the OS that can handle hidpi very well). They were literally the lead for laptop market for years, they also maintained old ports while forcing new ones. They've had throttling problems etc but overall those machines felt real premium and quality shit.
But WHAT THE FUCK were they thinking when they added the touchbar? I mean what practical usage does it stand for? You can't even feel the buttons. Just why? Did they really think it's an innovation? What about the 6th generation intel with DDR3 RAM that is limited at 16GB while the competitors are already on 7th gen and putting 32GB DDR4? What about the thunderbolt 3 that they claim to have added but doesn't support most of the INTEL CERTIFIED devices on the market?

Anon calm your shit.
This is Apple. Everytime, and I mean EVERYTIME that they do a remodel of some of their products they fuck it up, however they fix that after refreshing it a year later. I honestly can't understand why that is so hard to remember.
