So since everyone here hates hardware with RGB put on them like keyboards, motherboards, PSUs etc. with passion, does that mean you hate looking at the stars that appear in the night sky?
So much, in fact, as to live in the midst of such light pollution that I can't see them.
>>58976724
The LEDs on keyboards serve no fucking purpose.
>>58976724
The night sky is beautiful nature.
RGB keyboards are gaudy shit.

So anyone else notice that if you get a captcha that you know that you clicked the right squares on and it doesn't work, then in the next captcha you can just click one square and it will accept it.
>>58975985
Just use the legacy captcha, fucking faggot.

Im trying to rescue one of my failing 2tb harddrives with ddrescue. This is the progress so far.
As you can see its currently in the trimming phase. Its been going for 4 straight days. How much longer do you guys think it will take? Also i put -r2, does that mean its going to repeat each phase 2 times, or will it just try to read failed blocks 2 more times once all phases has been completed?
Also, looking at the screenshot, what do you guys think caused the problem? I can clearly see a pattern...
Looks like your platter got scratched, that's why the failed blocks are in (relatively) straight lines. Did the drive get bumped while it was spinning?
>>58975981
Dont think so, computer has been standing still. But i did notice the drive taking longer and longer to load over a period of 2 weeks until it completely froze when i tried to browse it. Started the ddrescue right after that.
ST2000DM001, perchance?
How do websites get away with this shit?
>>58975932
They don't, that's why they're so mad.
>>58975946
This popup detects adblock then tells me "it doesn't show annoying ads"
>disable it
Oh look annoying ads.
>>58975932
websites and their content are completely unregulated by any kind of standardized agency
People who have websites are allowed to make their websites look and behave any way they like. There are no rules.
It would be nice to have some kind of lawful regulation about when, where, and how aggressively advertisements can be shown, but that creates a slippery slope to also regulating content.
tl;dr ads are bullshit and money is the lowest common denominator of productivity motivators
How do you unlock a Cellcom iPhone 4? Like carrier lock.

Nah, wasn't sick when it got drawn. The issue was this.
Pretty sure everyone on /g/ has this though.
How did you learn to code /g/ ?
Also at what age
When I was 8 I learned blitz basic
I loved it but looking back, it was a disgusting language
First programming language was C++. Learned in college at 17.
>>58975623
I guess I can say I learned in college at 19 when I took a class freshman year
but that was last year and I haven't programmed since and I am not very good
What does IBM do nowadays? They've kinda just faded from the media when they stopped working on PC hardware
Just because they're not making consumer shitboxes anymore, doesn't mean they're not active.
They still pull massive government contracts, they more or less run the mainframe market and is still a major player in the server market, they do system Z, they do software (db2 is more or less Oracle's biggest competitor for database), they're still probably doing genome-related shit, and they offer an ever-loving metric fuckload of different general IT services such as consulting and support.
Oh, and IBM Watson is definitely still a big thing, I suppose you've heard about that one in the news but left it out.
With $80b revenue and 350k (give or take a couple thousand) employees, I can assure you they are alive as fuck and certainly doing shit.
>>58975730
Don't forget the Lotus Suite.
>>58975782
Meh, I just gave an example of the software they do. Truth be told they do too much shit to post about.
I'm trying to get either Lynx or w3m working on my windows 7 computer but I'm doing it wrong. Hope it's not because neither work on windows or anything.
Lynx seems to want to run. When I try to start it up a window opens up but then disappears. The only thing I'm seeing on the internet is that this might be an issue with a firewall but I'm not certain thats the real problem.

Why doesn't apple develop a magnetic CPU socket or magnetic SSD interface?
>is this bait?
?????????
magnets should only be used for basic i/o
storage or computation would be too risky for a loose connection to occur
you just slightly bump it and bam write error
your whole drive is corrupted
and if you dont use a journaling fs or ramcache you are screwed
if its on the cpu then you will get a segfault or depending on the layout of the pcb it could just shut off
>How many times have you tripped over your CPU and yanked the entire machine off your work surface
Will running Android without gapps result in better battery life?
Battery life will just be slightly better.
What gives you the biggest boost in battery life is turning off animations in dev settings, setting screen brightness to auto, and clearing app cache at least once a week.
Also more RAM will also give you a boost in battery life as things won't have to be reloaded much but this requires you getting a new phone so should be used as a last resort.
