I will soon be in need of buying a notebook and want to escape the W10 botnet by installing Linux on it. Now as I'm a fucking faggot I want it to be as Windows-like as possible, with much comfyness and little command line bullshit. I'm going to code, work and occasionally play some vidya, is Kubuntu the best distro for me? It looks extremely comfy
Seems like an Apple laptop would be fine for your needs, since it has no botnet and has 'comfyness and little command line bullshit'
I recommend Linux Mint over Kubuntu. Try both in a Virtualbox before committing. Mint will be more commonly seen because Cinnamon is a very popular and well-rounded DE.
If you're going to escape botnet, might as well learn some commands. They aren't difficult and honestly you can google anything you don't know. If that's what you plan on doing, Linux Mint would fit you perfectly fine.
If you aren't willing to do that then >>59128339

Are you a web developer?
As for the bistro, don't use anything with KDE as your battery will hate you. Pick something light like XFCE (Xubuntu), LXDE (Lubuntu) or Openbox (#!++ or BunsenLabs)
Hi!
So I'm about to take my first step in the smartphone realm...
Since I work as a stagehand I'm looking for the sturdiest and most practicle thing between 500 and 800 euros ( would be 528>844 dollars )
I saw The caterpillar S60 but I really couldn't care less about the thermic camera.. There's also Runbo F1 or Kyoceras' Brigadier but I'm still looking into it...
Hm, If anything I listen to music quite a lot so a GOOD audio output is a plus.
I'm taking any advice :)
Thanks in advance
nota bene : picture is just funny, don't mind it.

Ah, sorry, should I post this there ? :/

Hm, it doesn't feel that relevent to be honest..
Firefuck developers cant even program the simplest rules
1. Type a.test into Chrome
2. Type a.test into Firefox
Hint: One of the browsers doesnt understand what I want.
Hint: It's Firefox.
Google has paid all the best programmers of Firefox to work on Chrome. It explains everything. Basically if you don't run an illegal trafficking ring through the New Zealand-Australia route there is no reason to avoid Chrome.
>>59128108
firefox has a separate search bar you dipshit
>>59128108
1. what if there will be .test TLD some day?
2. Firefox uses separate fields for URI and Search (I hope)

Apple hate thread, I'm also after every reason why Apple is a bad consumer choice and anti competitive
Apple charges a little more money for a pretty case. Women and children love shiny cases.

I'm turning this into an Apple Love Thread.

what a heap of bullshit. great phone but this is really not worth watching
Of course computers won't die with the workplace but many people nowadays almost exclusively use a mobile device to manage their leisure activities such as social media and gaming. Maybe I'm old fashioned but I would never be able to cope. When I use social media like reddit, tumblr or facebook I get tired very easily and run straight for my desktop.
I only use my mobile devices for very simple tasks such as liking photos or searching up information but the moment I do something like type or adjust my privacy settings I'm on my desktop.
What about (You) guys?
I'm mostly at home and use my computer
I got a $250 smartphone for when I go out
Laptops and mobile devices do everything that normies want, but desktops will always be cheaper for higher specs and will have more room for cooling and such, so this means that they'll always have a place with businesses, professionals, etc.

Someone gave me an ipad and even I don't know what the fuck to do with it. It's like a disabled computer with a big screen.

Why do I keep getting lines on my videos in this shitty browser damn it
use palememe
Are web browsers just fundamentally broken? Is there something about the internet in general that makes it inevitably a shitty experience?
I think I've tried about 10 browsers for a couple weeks last year, and they all fail on at least one of these:
>too RAM hungry (all browsers, especially Chrome)
>botnet (all browsers which support more than early 2000's HTML)
>plugin problems (anything that isn't either Chrome or FF, especially FF clones suck)
>Instable (Light, a FF clone, would throw a bad SSL certificate error FOR EVERY CERTIFICATE)
>no plugins available like good adblockers etc.
For now I'll stick with FF. It uses a lot of RAM too which nowadays isn't that much of a problem anymore (doesnt mean it should be acceptable) but it works fine anyways. I used Chrome many years before until
>"hey looks like you need a light and fast alternative to IE"
>"oops we became bulkier and slower than IE"
What I really hope is that flash, java and the likes will finally die owing to html5 and browsers will stop forcing their greedy sync options no one cares about.
upwards of 1GB RAM or a web browser with 5 tabs what a joke.
Am i retarded if i can't understand how to use git and github?
Here's a quick rundown on git. You literally only use these 6 commands 95% of times.
>git clone
>git checkout
>git pull
>git add
>git commit
>git push
>git pull
copy stuff from an online repo you own to your own local repo for editing
>git clone
if you dont own the repo
>git commit -m "i made a change"
save changes you made in order to get ready to send them to your online repo once more
>git push
send stuff from local repo to online repo if you have an ssh key or password
>git status
a quick overview of your stuff
want moar?

touchscreen keyboard keys are big because it's easy to fuck it up. You don't need as big keys when they're physical
