Just recently hooked up a 4K TV to my PC setup (4690k, gtx 980) and I am having issues playing an x265/hvec video (choppy, audio lags)
Is there a specific codec pack out there that I should download? Seems like MPC-HC + CCCP isn't doing the trick.
Also tried VLC and I also get some choppy video.
Could it be a read issue?

4k HVEC is quite taxing on a 4690k, I just tried it can't get it to rum smooth on my 4690k either
what should I do?
>>59131730
Get a SD card solution and load it up with software.
Specifically Gamebase 15 and HVSC (High Voltage SID Collection).

To be fair, this was from my late father and I only saw it functional when I was a child. Sorry for my ignorance but I have no idea how it works.

I know several people who say: 'Windows shouldn't exist! It's an abomination!'.
But as soon as someone tells them Linux should cater to a regular user more, they say Linux is great as it is. When I tell them, this way Windows will exist for centuries to come, they get angry and start again: 'Windows shouldn't exist! It's an abomination!'.
Could you explain this flawed logic?

Hello guys
Let's see I am thinking of coding a program that reads info from a database in mysql online (user+password) and based on the information creates a PDF with it like a report.
I know that PERL would have capabilities to do so, but I'm looking for other options that perhaps could be other than a script such as a compiled code that can do the job by requesting the info from the database and ID of the objects, i.e. to do a batch run a several jobs in the database. That way I can protect the code better than a simple script.
Any ideas? Recommended language? pros and cons?
Stay cool

1) collect your data
2) template data to some code template that compiles to PDF/Postscript or equiv (TeX comes to mind, pandoc markdown -> TeX also would likely work, probably various HTML -> PDF drivers as well)
3) compile above to PDF/Postscript
it's not that fucking hard. you're basically making a website, but your final display is a PDF.
Got hyped into using emacs

Works for me.©
Emacs is vastly inferior to vim, and you should really only use vim if you can't find a proper three-button mouse for chording acme.
>>59130612
Vim user here who just started using Emacs for ReStructuredText because no other editor supports it well.

Hi guys. Im trying to do a self join on SQL and I hit a road block in my studies. The mysports. needs to be before the emp or it cannot find the table, all online tuts dont have the table identity to worry about.
its an Oracle Database
SELECT emp.deptno, emp.ename as "Employee N", emp.empno, emp.mgr
FROM mysports.emp INNER JOIN
mysports.emp ONemp.mgr = emp.empno
WHERE deptno = 10 OR deptno = 20
;
the mgr needs to display the name of the manger not his id number
How do you make these SQL maps?

I need JVM 1.8 to use Eclipse, but I don't want to screw up. Before installing JVM 1.8 is it a good idea to uninstall 1.7? In that case how can I do that if I don't even know when it's been installed (I think I installed it via apt-get, don't remember exactly since it was a long ago)? Or is there an easier way to just tell the system to replace the old JVM 1.7 with 1.8? Hope you can help me anons.
Shut up!
Heheheh, shut up
Lol, Uninstall your current jvm pajeet, download the latest from Oracle, untar and add the proper path variables
Or if I remember correctly Oracle provides a Windows like installer for pajeets like you that don't even understand the path variables concept, just be sure to have x11 activated
>>59129898
Don't do this, just use the Debian package for this. The oracle-jdk package is just a downloader and some needed environment variables you need.
>>59129794
You can install as many java version as you want. Use update-alternatives to switch, if needed (The newest version should get selected by default.)
Do you use a USB footpedal with Emacs, /g/?
>Emacs - How to use REGEX
>press both foot pedals
>press meta shift control sysrq
>play the moonlight sonata on the two extra >keyboards while requesting Regex-Mode with the headstick.
>hit the electric cymbals strapped under my arm and while putting the shift-stick I have gripped tightly with my sphincter into turbo mode.
>signal my two assistants to turn their keys in unison, NOW!
>input the regex
>release all keys and watch as emacs gracefully rearranges the text
I use an electronic dildo with pressure sensors, whenever I clench my asshole it autocompletes.
>>59129729
does it quit emacs when you shit it out?
>>59129859
No but that's just another line of code when the FSRs pressure equals 0kΩ or whatever the resting value was because of the silicon it's embedded on, could do but that would shut down the program if you remove it for whatever reason, so not very useful. As it is now I can train my asshole muscles to crush feminine dicks and code faster without many drawbacks.

I can scroll through my images because they are organised into folders. doesnt affect me but i can see why it would affect others.
besides - i've admitted thats a problem and I've seen it posted here before. i'd take a lovely design over that feature any day desu. Also my pictures do have thumbnails in the list view.
was that issue with qt ever fixed, the one where it was butt ugly?
