Which one?
Good question. I think the 1700X is the more sane option, but I think I'm going to grab the 1800x regardless. Just have to wait and see benches and overclockability.
>>59113924
1700X. Given the dynamic overclocking that XFR provides, I don't see the point of paying an extra $100 for another 200 mhz.
>>59113924
I ordered the 1700 myself
65w should save a bit of money on power, and my current heatsink will be overkill for it which is always a good thing
then again the most strenuous thing I'm going to be doing on my machine is muh gaymes
haha, oh wow
Heavy worksloads are good though.
Still, AMDs strategy seems to be

Are Noctua fans a meme? Fucking $20 for a 120mm fan? That will probably die in a couple of years?
I'm torn on replacing my dying, stock, cooler master fan with a $20 Noctua or a $9 ARCTIC F12 PWM Rev. 2 fan.
Oh wise /g/, lay your pearls of wisdom upon me.
>>59109544
Yes. I bought 2 generic fans for 3aud each a couple of years ago and my pc has no thermal issues whatsoever.
They're like the Apple of pc cooling, unnecessary and unnecessarily expensive.
>>59109544
don't bother with proprietary technology, install gentoo
>>59109544
>That will probably die in a couple of years?
Noctua fans have a six year warranty. You don't have to send the old fan back to get a replacement either. Just snap a blade off and send them a picture and they'll send you a replacement.
>>59109564
The arguments of a poorfag. Of COURSE any shitty fan can provide cooling. You're paying extra for quiet operation, longevity and great support. Can you "get by" with a $3 fan? Sure. You can also "get by" with a Core 2 Duo and a GT 210. It doesn't mean that I'd want to though.
Any hype for this?
>>59106929
>not n900
no

that's why i bought the classic in the first place, to avoid that shit.
>>59106929
Not really, no.
Give us a 4.7 inch FHD phone with a horizontal slide out keyboard and I'll be interested.
Post innovative tech.
That's pretty neat NGL. Doubt I would buy it when it's so bulky though

Literally babby's first niche retro tech circlejerk gif that everyone's seen a million times, diversify a little will you?
So how do we solve the C problem, /g/?
New security holes keep appearing because of it.
>>59093233
Just stop talking about it.
>>59093233
We solve the C problem by euthanizing retard shills like you.
>>59093233
I'm reading K&R so I can contribute to the C problem.
Tab vs Space
Which one do you use to write ur code?

How the fuck do you stream 4k to chromecast?
Casting from chrome browser just casts the exact resolution of the literal video in the browser, a maximum of your monitor's size. So it seems you need a 4k monitor on your computer to stream 4k to your 4k TV? Wtf?
Is there a way to just stream a raw file regardless of what's showing on the computer's screen?
>>59124536
>How the fuck do you stream 4k to chromecast?
Install Gentoo.
>>59124578
I don't want to
Using your phone?
App ideas?
All I have got so far is a nodejs based webapp or electron based standalone that streams music from youtube videos. It should have a built in adblocker and allow the user to create custom playlists, albums, etc.
I'd call it "youjew"
>>59124513
that sounds dope already and i'd probably use it
>>59124521
yes and i forgot to include that I would add a download option. i guess i'd just copy a popular foobar2000 setup for the ui. all it would need is a youtube search bar. maybe i'd also add user ratings so people could avoid low quality songs
>>59124553
those are good ideas too. i recommend writing a good spec first and sticking to it, otherwise you'll keep just wanting to add features and the project will never be complete. do you plan to put this up on github?

I wouldn't really recommend it though.
From an application-programming perspective, how similar are PC touchscreens to mobile touchscreens? Can I interact with them using the same interfaces? If yes, how common is it for a PC touchscreen to support at least 8 or 10 simultaneous touches?
Actually, I don't care how common it is. I just want to know how cheaply I can get a decent monitor that supports 8+ touches (preferably more).
>>59123727
touchscreens a shit

I need one to implement my CHUNITHM clone, or else force it to be on mobile
I want to add Bluetooth to my desktop so I can use wireless headphones. Is a dedicated card better then one of those tiny USB dongles?
No, maybe a slight range advantage from the card's larger antenna. But Bluetooth is slower than USB 2.0, so unless you are dongle is shit; it should be just as fast.
>>59123396
Can you recommend me a Bluetooth dongle?

Android photo gallery?
This botnet bloatware PoS is what I used to use many, many moons ago, but as you can see it's shit. What it has going for it though is when it sorts by name it goes [1, 2, 3] instead of the usual [1, 10, 11].
Anyone know a photo gallery that isn't a complete piece of shit, basically?
Bump
What do you guys use?
Leafpic from F-Droid, but it isn't 100% on Nougat..
>>59122762
Old QuickPic is hands down the best photo gallery app on any portable device.
End of story.
