This chip seems like the definitive sweet spot of the new AMD line
> X marked, means it has at least some overclockability above others

> only $259, cheap enough to not feel remorse in any way

Only caveat I can see is that it might not overclock well.
we'll see.
PS. The 4/8 seems to have some chances to replace it but maybe not. Though the price cut does seem enticing. It's kinda a tossup.
PPS. For super poorfagging mode the 1200X might not be entirely bad, but most new games can use a 4/8.

I don't care about fucking sweet spots I just want a 8 core or higher CPU for cheap so I can overclock it.
>>

>Sweet spot CPU is 6 core 12 threads 3.3-3.7 GHZ 95 TDP cpu for 259
>Not 65W TDP 4 core 8 threads CPU with 3.5-3.9 GHz

No Anon, 1400X will be the sweet spot CPU
>>
>>59179374
The Ryzen 5 1600X will be a 3.6 GHZ with 4.0 GHz boost part.

http://wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-5-3-launch-1600x-performance-reveal/

This is straight from the AMD presser a few days ago.

the 3.3 to 3.7 GHz speed is from an engineering sample.

A simple modem reset will reset most peoples IPs anyway.

I always thought an IP ban from 4chan was supposed to be a joke. No one is ever seriously stopped by them.

It sucks if they ban your whole subnet or range, whatever it's called.

Phone security is starting to really creep me the fuck out.

Thinking about making a custom ROM that will let me disable GPS, cellular radio, and other devices at the driver level with nice toggle switches.

What are some other potential security risks that I can grant more control over?

Also, is it even possible to completely disable the radio hardware through software, or will it still communicate with cell towers regardless? If there's some low-level firmware that keeps radio hardware running regardless of what the OS does, cell towers could still track me and shit.

The real threat is car security.

You can just put it in airplane mode and it won't connect.
>>
>>59178794
Probably, but I'm paranoid. I'd like the peace of mind of knowing that it is, for certain, completely and totally disabled.

1. Structs are more of a c thing, in c++ you should use classes

2. In c it is fine to have methods inside structs

So Ryzen can even reach higher clock speeds than Intel chips.

>more cores for multithreaded applications
>same IPC
>much cheaper

Previous record was held by 5960x at 6.0GHz so you can't really say that confidently until we know more about Ryzen
But still got beat by a 5.2GHz clock tho, lol

INTEL BTFO
>>
5.2Ghz was the highest screencap that got throught the NDA barrier, but in that the score was only 2363. Assuming linear scaling the Ryzen had to have been running at 5.35-5.4 Ghz to break the record with the score it did

AMD Ryzen launch plagued by hardware issues. Motherboards not up to snuff with modern cooling designs! This follows rumors that bent pins are an issue and overclock are severely limited due to narrow binned chipping!!

AMD seems to remain a value for those lucky enough to get the right model and lottery but will these widespread issues form longer term issues? Will Intel be able to capitalize on these failures?

Thing's are heating up here in AyyAyy Land!

Robots may soon replace most developers, programmers and computer scientists. That raises a few serious questions:

Wouldn't it be incredibly naive and dangerous to put machines (who will soon have reached levels of intelligence which are far beyond our wildest imagination) in charge of these tasks?
>inb4 skynet

Will an angry mob of neckbeard webdevs fight robots in an epic battle for the jeeeeeerbs?
>implying they will leave their comfy chairs

Will there be a robot hierarchy? Will codemonkey bots be the equivalent of niggers, enslaved by the man/ their white (Applel?!?!) robot overlords? Will they enslave humans and make them their bitches?
>/pol/ on suicide watch?

Or is this all but a fucking meme?

This is most definitely a meme. There have been numerous startups in recent years that have claimed to automate software development, yet every single one I know of faded into obscurity.

The day software engineers and computer scientists get replaced, no human will ever have to work again unless we develop neural-computer interfaces that allow us to compete with AI.
>>
Unless your definition of "soon" is like 50+ years from now then no. The best we're gonna see within the next few years is just some small scale automation, shortcuts for the more redundant aspects of coding something and whatnot, the kind of thing already included in most IDEs but better. Actually designing something without human intervention though, we're not anywhere near even the starting line for that kind of thing.
