AMD Ryzen launch plagued by hardware issues. Motherboards not up to snuff with modern cooling designs! This follows rumors that bent pins are an issue and overclock are severely limited due to narrow binned chipping!!
AMD seems to remain a value for those lucky enough to get the right model and lottery but will these widespread issues form longer term issues? Will Intel be able to capitalize on these failures?
Thing's are heating up here in AyyAyy Land!
And your source?

Thanks for the update, friend. I've just cancelled my Ryzen pre-order and bought a couple of 7700Ks to replace it. I'm glad to be getting the best value and performance by purchasing an Intel CPU.
>>59178498
All I needed to know.
So in other words. This is not AMDs fault.
Simple fix.
No need for the sensationalist BS.
>>59178551
do you plan to glue them together for that glorious CPU SLI? what a time to be alive
>>59178498
>toms hardware
>literally Intel's #1 shilling site
>AMD Ryzen Motherboards, not manufacturer's motherboard
This is the most disgusting shilling campaign I've seen yet.
woah this is so misleading
At first I though it's about VRM heatstink, that would be a problem, but it's about CPU heatsink not a problem at all
also motherboard brand doesn't get mentioned
talk about clickbait
>>59178498
>>The sinks (heatsink and waterblock) using their own backplates should not pose a problem, however.
So, pretty much every decent cpu cooler will be okay?
>>59178588
total clickbait to buy your system and find your cooler fails
sweet!
>>59178657
how many people have coolers with custom backplates tho?
not many desu
>>59178460
>third party oems backplate screws might have cooling issues with custom watercooling/radiators due to shorter/longer screw holes that create less pressure on the cpu
ITS FUCKING NOTHING
>the backplates provided with some major motherboard brands
since when do motherboards come with backplates?
>>59178498
wow its fucking nothing
>>59178498
>Literally not AMDs fault
>Intelgoys being THIS desperate
>>59178678
Almost every single tower or AIO on the market comes with its own mounting backplate.
>>59178685
AMD motherboards have mounting hardware for the stock cooler attached as standard. This consists of two plastic bits to hook the cooler onto and a backplate. Installing most aftermarket coolers requires removing both the plastic mounting points and the stock backplate, because they're designed for the stock cooler. Some smaller aftermarket coolers do make use the of the stock mounting hardware though, like the AC Freezer Pro 7 for example.

AMD boards do, they're used to install the stock cooler mounting system. Was also used for mounting a fuckhuge mugen 2 i had.

/g/ is overflown by Ryzen rumor threads nowadays. I want all gaymers to be quarantined.

>backplates provided with [...] motherboard [...] could come with a screw that is too long

oh wow it's nothing.
>>59179138
and the thing is neither 1700x or 1800x comes with a cooler and the one with 1700 uses the clip system, literarily just grasping at straws
>itt jewtel shill grasping for straws after their "recommendations" backfired
hahahaha

Don't forget 4K Netflix support!
>>59179317
Wait, Ryzen cannot play Netflix?
>>59179476
It can't! 4k Netflix is Intel only starting with Kaby Lake!
>>59179529
Any reason to believe AMD will address this issue? Will those CPUs be fixed?
>>59178551
Me too
Can't believe I almost fell for it
wtf i hate amd now
>>59179607
4k netflix requires proprietary DRM in the chip, so AMD can't be bothered.
Ah so intel bribed the motherboard manufacturers to release shit motherboards
Smart
>>59179682
Well, both Intel and AMD CPUs are proprietary, so why is this a problem for Netflix all of the sudden?
>>59178460
>This follows rumors that bent pins are an issue and overclock are severely limited due to narrow binned chipping!!
Nigga you need to source these claims.
this is the same igor that tested the 1060 on aos and said everything was on high while on the aos bench site his run was on medium?
yeah another clickbait article from yours trully

>Tom's Hardware
GOOD GOY
>>59178670
yeap especially when its aftermarket! and has nothing to do with amd! and ofc the fact amd has only coolers to the small ones which none of those got since they didnt ship them?
well you know
>>59178460
This shit is so fucking typical
Remember the RX 480 disaster?
AMD always cuts corners, they can't help but fuck up.
>AMD obliterated by a GTX1080ti and a 300$ CPU
Well people, anyone else getting his i7 7700k and 1080ti next month ?
>>59180452
imagine if it was indeed amds fault
LOL
>>59180452
>>59180469

stop raging and look at the reality
>>59180469
Probably. I like 4K Netflix. AMD won't give me that.
>>59179529
so no HEVC decode/encode hardware support for Ryzen too?
I don't care AV1 is near
>>59180777
>so no HEVC decode/encode hardware support for Ryzen too?
you know that intel has that support through iGPU that you'd never use?
>>59178460
>Motherboards not up to snuff with modern cooling designs!
You realize OEMs make the motherboards, right? The same OEMs who make intel boards.
Citation required m8. For everything you listed.
>>59178460
Where I work we had them in this morning. Took 3 hours to post due to the ram on the supported lists mostly not working and even then struggling to xmp.
Doing benchmarks soon
42600 on cloudgate with 1070,1700x
Intel shills truly are desperate. This panic is fucking glorious.
