maybe if you had a thinkpad you would be able to save an image correctly.

Doesn't ubuntu have a mobile version? That would be my first option.

I like my 6s but after a year the battery is hitting the craper, siting at about 88% life , now could be even less. Totally satisfied
1700 overclocked to 4.0
http://imgur.com/a/JWYaI
Benched against a 7700k, CPU-z isn't all that great a benchmark but it's the first real benchmark of a overclocked chip.
My erection is going to last all day isn't it?
>>59182009
1700 at stock, note the low voltage due to being a 65W part.
Looking at this, the 1700x and 1800x should need some 15-20% lower voltage to reach the same clocks, the 1700's voltage target is low.
Best way to access somewhat secure daily use passwords/shit?
Having to type my 30 characters kepass password every time I want to look at asnything or login somewhere is a fucking burden so I want to kep the meh passwords in some more easy toa ccess way and keep kepass to bank and personal shit
I think I dind't get your question? You are asking for a more simple keepass alternative? buy a pocket sized notebook, write down your passwords in it. Print diceware dictionnary, buy 5 dices and don't use a password manager for the rest of your life ;)
>>59181885
Use a key file instead of a password and keep the database open indefinitely until you want to lock it. You can setup a script to auto unlock when the drive with key is inserted.
just aes256 some text file with 7zip
Would there be any major downsides to laptops and maybe even desktops switching to ARM now that Windows supports ARM and has win32 emulation? The current x86 duopoly with AMD and Intel isn't good for consumers. For years, AMD wasn't competitive so Intel could charge whatever they wanted while offering minimal performance gains over generations. And who knows, Intel might not be able to respond to Ryzen for a few years and AMD could do the same things Intel did the last few years. At least with ARM, the architecture is open to more companies so there is more competition among ARM CPU manufacturers. There's Samsung and Apple and Qualcomm and Mediatek and Huawei and more all making ARM processors.
>>59181862
Yeah, performance. There are no high-end ARM CPUs that can rival high-end x86 CPUs.
>>59181896
Well duh, but that would change once ARM licensees or whatever you call them start designing ARM processors for laptops/desktops.
>>59181943
The whole architecture just isn't designed for performance.
Here's what I don't get. If AMD is so bad, why are they still in business? Everyone seems to agree so why would people keep buying their CPUs instead of the alternative?
>>59181834
because severly retarded people fall into memes
Because they aren't and you're either retarded, a troll or a shill. AMD fucked up a CPU architecture and was worse for a few generations. Since most of /g/ isn't old enough to remember a time before 2012, they think it's always and will always be like that
>>59181865
stop being an indian shill, what, are you going to bring up the ahtlon and pentium 4 ? Because even like that, people were going intel anyway.
there is literally no reason to have more than 1 core
most programs and games aren't even multi-threaded
>>59181664
This! I only buy Intel because they have the best performance in real applications that real people use!
I mean this is an obvious shitpost but I like it because it's going to pise lf the "ahmdels ler mens no mor core" guy
I think it reasonable to have second core, just in case.
Anyone know how to do this in a GNU/Linux computer?

>reasons to buy Ryzen instead of a cheaper, slightly better 7700K
>>59181468
There are none. Cores are a meme. Those faggots who wasted their money on a i7 2600K back in in the day were left wishing today that they'd just bought an i3 2100 instead, and so it will be with people who choose Ryzen over Kaby Lake.
>>59181468
MOAR CORES
Oh wait...
>>59181508
Don't be stupid. Those CPUs don't only have cores. They also have enormously more cache for example.
Of course, going for the -E line, is falling for +10% for +90% more money.
Also 4/8 processors are still the sweet spot and they will remain for a while.
