This chip seems like the definitive sweet spot of the new AMD line

Only caveat I can see is that it might not overclock well.
we'll see.
PS. The 4/8 seems to have some chances to replace it but maybe not. Though the price cut does seem enticing. It's kinda a tossup.
PPS. For super poorfagging mode the 1200X might not be entirely bad, but most new games can use a 4/8.
I don't care about fucking sweet spots I just want a 8 core or higher CPU for cheap so I can overclock it.

>Sweet spot CPU is 6 core 12 threads 3.3-3.7 GHZ 95 TDP cpu for 259
>Not 65W TDP 4 core 8 threads CPU with 3.5-3.9 GHz
No Anon, 1400X will be the sweet spot CPU
>>59179374
The Ryzen 5 1600X will be a 3.6 GHZ with 4.0 GHz boost part.

This is straight from the AMD presser a few days ago.
the 3.3 to 3.7 GHz speed is from an engineering sample.
1700, a decent heatsink and a mobo with 8+ VRM would be good for OC.

Do you seriously believe the 1400X will be 65W after overclocking? That's just a reference for stock speeds or even an average. I bet it's gonna be around 80 to 90Watts on a regular /g/ machine.

All AMD chips are fully unlocked so that matters little. The X notation means they might be even better for overclocking. There is a chance the 4/8 would be one of the best overclockers for instance.
You're right, the 1600x is the actual competition for the 7700k. Much higher potential clocking than the 1700 and still moar cores
>>59179503
I don't know, it doesn't have the X notation, something tells me they might be shit for Overclocking.
But we'll see, it might just be random or something.
Though if it's truly random, they fuck up a bit.

>Much higher potential clocking
We have no idea if that is true.
>>59180999
Higher stock clocks and higher stock TDP. It's designed to run higher.
If the 1700 clocks as high on average as a 1600x I'll eat my shoe but I'll be happy about it

>What are OEMs
>What is avarage user that won't touch overclocking
Still no EEC, still no buy.

It supports ecc, retards.
I can't wait for the 1200X.
