Hey /g/ I recently saw the cicret bracelet video; although I know it fake, is it possible to great my own, and if so what do I need?
6 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
No. As to what you would need, I'm gonna say a fucking time machine.

You need better battery tech than we have.
You need a laser projector in a pico form factor, which we do not have. (pico projectors lol)
And if you want to use your skin as a projection surface like the charlatans at Cicret suggest, you need to be the palest motherfucker on the block. It's a good thing you'll be avoiding sunlight anyway since ambient light will wreck the shit out of your image.

Also you need to be cool with your bracelet being about 6 inches thick since it needs to be perpendicular to your arm to avoid warping a bunch.

Or if you don't feel like waiting you can just strap a phone to your wrist, dye your hair purple and wait for some space pilot jobs to open up.

FreeBSD or OpenBSD or Linux?

Depends on the use case.
For servers, I'd go Linux -> FreeBSD -> OpenBSD and then make up your mind on what best fits you.

Are there any fucking phones that aren't absolute shit? They all seem to be built to fail so you buy a new one. Are there any phones I can keep for 4 or 5 years? My moto x is 2 years old, the battery is ass, and it constantly fucks up.

I've the choice between a LGA 775 motherboard and a am3 motherboard and idk which to pick.

would be putting a Intel core 2 quad Q9650 or a AMD phenom II x6 1055t in them respectively.

I know they're old but they're free and would do for my little brother.

the q9650 is near enough the same price as the equivalent lga751 Xeon these days so I don't see the point in doing the 755 to 751 mod

MOOCs are totally fucking worthless. Never take one. I am taking Stanford's introductory machine learning course, and I have realized it's totally fucking worthless. I'm going to complete it anyway because it interests me. Unless you have to go to a physical building and write an exam, it's a waste of time and money. Now I will explain why.

You can cheat your way through the entire course and all of the marking is automated, even the programming assignments. Furthermore, you have to get at least 80% of stuff to progress to the next assignment or quiz, so there is a huge incentive to just plagiarize. Every single quiz and assignment is on GitHub. A retard who knows ctrl C + ctrl V could just google every single question and get 100%.

I would never hire someone whose education was exclusively from MOOCs. If you never sit down in a supervised environment to write a paper exam, there is absolutely no guarantee you learned a goddamned thing.

Stanford is evil for making this course, because it's just a tax on desperate third world students looking to pad their resumes. I'm not one of them, but I pity them, because 100 USD is a lot of money in South Asia. They should be banned from charging for MOOCs.

>I can't trust myself to perform honestly on this course therefore it's shit and they should stop so nobody else can learn
Do you know how retarded you sound right now?
>>
>>59408687
All the knowledge is in books and research papers. Everyone knows that.

Few years ago, Coursera contacted people who completed the most courses and got the highest scores and tried to get them jobs at biggest companies. Not a single one was successful.

MOOCs are for fucking idiots.
>>
>>59408719
Are you retarded? The cheat repositories have hundreds of stars. There the first results on Google.

MOOC degree = counterfeit money

>>59408744
>MOOCs are for fucking idiots.

I totally agree. I'm just taking this because I don't think my university has a course specifically on ML, just AI in general.

If you would like to try out GNU/Linux you can do one of the following:
0) Install a GNU/Linux distribution of your choice in a Virtual Machine.
1) Use a live image and to boot directly into the GNU/Linux distribution without installing anything.
2) Dual boot the GNU/Linux distribution of your choice along with Windows or macOS.
3) Go balls deep and replace everything with GNU/Linux.

I just installed debian stable but its still using the 3.16 kernel. Why?
>>
I want to try and install 2 distros together on one drive.

I have my (generic) partition scheme set up to have 2 root (/) partitions, 1 swap partition, and possibly 1 boot (/boot) partition.

2 questions: Will having only one boot partition hosting boot files from 2 distros be a bad thing, or can I get away with doing that no problem? And second; If I wanted a partition to house files that both OS could see, is it as simple as creating, say, /dev/sdxX, formatting it and dealing with mountpoints later on?
I tried doing that earlier but nothing could write to this partition I made (/datafs). Maybe permission troubles?
>>
>>59408858
i personally did have shared boot and home folders before.
Worked like a charm.
If you use .bashrc aliases read out the hostname first and determine the alias which shoud be used on that distro.

if [ $HOSTNAME = "distro1-pc" ] || [ $HOSTNAME = "distro1-netbook" ]; then
do stuff
elif [ $HOSTNAME = "distro2-pc" ]; then
do other stuff
