How many of you guys actually use Android without GApps? How is it?
>>59408575
its ideal without gapps
fdroid and xposed framework got everything you'll ever need
>>59408575
I do, CM13+xposed with Adaway and Afwall+

OSMand sucks and doesn't have offline address search so I just use HERE wego.
>browser
Icecatmobile and Lightning are ok.
I'm happy for now.
Me
its like having a dumbphone honestly, but the good things:
>alarm
>calendar
>notes
>calculator
>higher quality phone
>better reception
I would recommend it to you OP if you're interested. It eliminates the need for a camera too, as the phone camera is good enough for most things, assuming you aren't doing professional work with it.
Am using totally stock android btw
I would go this route OP, it is the most you can be out of the botnet without sacrificing the convenience of a phone.
Okay faggots, I fell for the thinkpad meme and loved it, but where does a /g/entleman go for a good similar build philosophy for a music player?
One of the $20 chink mp3s off amazon doesn't look bad, but I was wondering if there were any decisively better options?
1. Touch screen would be a plus if a case was available, but otherwise not.
2. SD card option is a must
3. Can't be a piece of shit
Also, something I do have is an old galaxy s1. Is there any OS that I could flash that would essentially make it a player only?
Just use your phone with bluetooth headphones/earbuds like a normal human being, CHRIST.
AK300. Affordable yet too pretty.

>Affordable
>he fell for the amd marketing
>again
What AMD marketing?
Why do you always post a laughing/smug dog-eating animated girl in every shitpost? Normally I'd expect the gay nigger facebook frog to be posted but you divert from the status quo.
What's your end game, OP?

Oh nooooooooo I got a HPTC CPU for half the price of the competition, god I'm just going to off myself right now, brb reaching for my S&W.

4CHAN APNG SUPPORT WHEN
We already have transparency support in webms, APNG is DOA.
Besides if we need to replace anything, it would have to be JPG and PNG with WebP.

Hey /g/,
I have a Samsung GS6 with a nano SIM card and want to adapt it into an iPhone 4S with a micro SIM card slot. However, the shape of the metal contacts on the two cards are different. Does this matter?
do it pussy
>>59408476
Cut the micro sim into the right size. What I always did.
Or with my provider they cost $1 for a replacement.
>>59408476
>However, the shape of the metal contacts on the two cards are different. Does this matter?
No, SIM cards had slightly different shaped contacts throughout time, but were always comparible.
can someone redpill me on standing desks? my back is starting to hurt after years of sitting at my computer with shit posture, will this help?
It's a meme + broscience.
>>59408461
That annoying guy in the office wearing bike shorts to meetings always has a standing desk
I'm pretty sure it's a meme

is /g/ ready to learn some pascal like its 1987?
Found this at goodwill for $10. Everything is here including the floppies with the example data!

Challenge time: How do you make this not shit without the meme answer of HURR INSTALL X DISTRO/WINBLOWZ XDDD
What don't you like about it?
The unity theme is a bit purple and 3d for me, so I install paper theme and icons. Put a pretty conky thing on the desktop and I'm happy with the appearance. Now I have a stable well supported distro with an active and supportive community.
Thinking about getting back into Linux. Quit shortly after Ubuntu released Unity. I know I'm going to have to fuck around with it to get it working. Which distro has the best support? Still Ubuntu?
Alternatively, any distros "just work" finally?

Will we look back at black plastic in the future the same way we see beige plastic from the 90s now?

>the same way we see beige plastic from the 90s now?
How do you see beige plastic?
>>59408116
Nah because that beige shit turns piss yellow over time, whereas the black plastic wont.

Other business laptops are also welcome in /tpg/ (e.g. Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook).

If you're looking for purchase advice, READ THE BUYERS GUIDE FIRST. Then post, stating budget and requirements (e.g. size and performance).
Don't buy anything OTHER THAN T, X AND W/P SERIES if you want the Real ThinkPad Experience™
Recommended models:
T420 - 14", normal size
X220 - 12.5", ultraportable
----
Why ThinkPad? (also applies to other business laptops)
>Used machines are plentiful and cheap.
>Excellent keyboards - tactile feel and quiet.
>Great durability: chassis uses a magnesium rollcage for structural integrity, with high quality plastic body panels.
>Utilitarian design: e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models.
>Docking stations that easily turns your laptop into a desktop.
>Easy to repair, upgrade and maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for every model. Spare parts are easy and cheap to obtain.
>The best trackpoint (that red thing in the middle of the keyboard). Great for those who type a lot or hate swiping their fingers all over a touchpad.
>Excellent GNU/Linux & *BSD support.

I managed to accidentally step on my x200t, and now my screen is cracked. However, the pen part of the screen works perfectly fine. So does anyone know if I can just buy a regular IPS x200 screen and replace that part only?
What would be a fair yuro price for a T450? Or for an X250?

I'm buying Toshinou a new computer.
What type would she want?
>>59407945
A thinkpad
>>59407967
aren't those really old?
No not necessarily. My friend has a thinkpad that he just uses to watch anime and youtube in bed and for simple games and it runs really fast and they're cheap too.
Kyoko could use it to watch anime and read manga since she's such an otaku.
Can we all take a moment to appreciate Apple's iCloud? Why is it so easy to hack?
There's nothing to hack. People just spearphished personal assistants/celebs using a list of email addresses. All it took was one assistant's contact list, then it cascaded from there. Just start sending fake iCloud password resets and that's it.
Once you're into the webview, downthemall on their pictures, sort, share. It's not rocket science.
This thread will now self-destruct.

good joke pajeet!
Why is ARM desktop Linux computing not the future platform of choice for most people. It's cheap, powerful and effective.
>>59407805
I have no fucking idea.
It's not familiar. The majority of people see Linux and immediately get turned off by the fact that they may need to use the command line every once in a while.
