so i'm trying to set up a first website.
i have a domain, i have a host.
trying to connect by ftp fails every time.
either by "connection timed out" or other errors.
>Is the website even reachable via domain?
>Does the Host have whitelistining enabled?
>Are you sure FTP is enabled?
>Are you retarded?
>Is the website hosted locally
>Have you tried reaching your Website Host Provider yet with your issues instead of being retarded?
I'm fucking done.
/g/ is completely dead.
The most basic and used of protocols worldwide and this asshole doesn't know about it.

>mfw targeted advertisements acknowledge my gender
>think about getting a larger HDD to store media for my home server
>browse Amazon and newegg for good deals
>literally after 5 minutes of browsing my Samsung hard disk, which showed no signs of failure for 7 years, started screeching, knocking and rattling all of a sudden
>doesn't turn on anymore
Is this the power of botnet?
You probably just forgot that these signs of imminent failure were already there. That's why you were triggered to look for a new HDD in the first place.
You were just a bit to late. Buy that HDD and restore from backups.
Why are Mouses/Mices/Pointing devices so expensive?
Something feels off about Visual Studio 2017, I just can't pin-point what it is.

Which browser should I put there? All mainstream are too heavy. It's for my mom, she's okay with pc, but nothing too h4x0r neckbeard tier, please.
No, I'm not asking you to suggest me to buy ram or new laptop or put arch whatever, thank you, 4chin.
I'm installing Gentoo right now, how hard am I being memed?
Gentoo, amongst other linux distros, is a perfectly fine choice.
Idiots on g (fuck your slashes) are a bunch of 12 yo.
If you find yourself comfortable enough with gentoo in the future, I'd suggest you to try once the linux from scratch. It's a nice way to learn even more about the linux ecosystem
Is Blue Portal a legitimate service? For 9$ they say that they can get you a persons Facebook password.
no. any service offering specific people's passwords for less than $100 is almost certainly a scam. it's a great way to screw retards out of $9 at a time, though, because even if you were upset enough to try to do anything about it, 1) you can't talk to the cops about it, and 2) any retard who would fall for this scam isn't a serious threat.
go for it. scamming desperate idiots on the black market is insanely easy. the victims can't go to authorities over it, so you'll fly under the radar for a while as long as you don't try to make a big operation out of it. and make sure to avoid screwing over someone who's serious about this shit. you don't want to make an enemy of a serious fucker.
spacebar randomly stopped working
Gonna join OP's thread, I'm also looking for advice
My mechanical keyboard's left windows key stopped working suddenly, I removed the entire switch and replaced it with the switch from another key that I rarely use, but it didn't fix the issue
I also rubbed isopropyl alcohol on the pcb and it didn't help
What can I try now? Can I use a voltimeter or something to test it?
What does /g/ use for security in general? Widgets, proxies, etc... allowed.
Regarding security, I use firejail. Regarding privacy, a FF fork with a spoofer, HTML5/Flash Controller, NoScript, HTTPS Everywhere, Ublock Origin, a VPN, Decentraleyes, Cookie Autodelete, and DNSSEC/TLSA Validator,
How does Google know? I've never searched 4chan on the app store or have any search history on Google enabled.

Bask in the glory of being a hacker programming lower level than c. Basically inbetween c and assembly. Very good. Very efficient. Ultimate unix way more or less. Incredible
But C was literally made for Unix, how can something else be the ultimate way?
Unix is like a nine month old baby. We know it was a mistake but it's too late now.
Which first manufacturer have combined the Northbridge and Southbridge into a single chip?
Wait that's some other shit not a chipset maker.
Yeah I got a book with that answer but it's home, where I won't be for two weeks, I just know it was not AMD or Intel and there was only 2 or 3 other names in the game at the time
Is there a chance of something dethroning windows 10 or did ms finally win?
