Why does the very existence of this OS family make GNU/Lusers so angry?

Is it because they've invested all that time feeling smug and superior about their consumption patterns, and don't want to contend with the fact that something even better might exist?

>People honestly think that AI would make doctors obsolete
>When doctors are the ones who decide what technology can be used in the field of medicine

The only place where tech can disrupt current industries are those where the people in them are unorganised rabbles like taxi and trucking.

There's nothing that comes even remotely close to what you are explaining, it's possible that after a sentient ai is achieved medicine will be obsolete in it of itself, no more diseases.
>>
Wut? Yeah just like how american factory workers would never pass things like NAFTA, the TPP, and SOPA, and the dozen other trade agreements that sold their jobs to china.
It's not the workers that do the legistlation, it's the massive medical industry that does. The medical industry is looking at this and going 'shit man we pay doctors a LOT, and we can just cut them out? Kek yes please, sign the 'Freedom of medicine' bill please'

>no more diseases
this will never happen
with all the "progress" we are having
they still can fix some freaking hemorrhoids (my case)
in surgery they are using modern equipment (technology) but the operative methods are from the 19th century - with all the risks remaining pretty much the same.

I'm trying to set up a continuous integration build light (pic is inspiration). Cheaper is better.

I have a Raspberry Pi that could be put to use. After googling smart light bulbs and relays and other projects people have done I think the easiest/cheapest solution is going to be a normal bulb connected to a wall socket with a switch in between controlled by the Pi that polls our build status on a cron timer.

Before I spend much more time pricing parts that will work I figured I'd ask in case I'd missed some super simple solution.

>>
there are usb build lights that you can hook into any CI. Also there is a usb nerf gun that you can calibrate to shoot whoever broke the build.

>>>/jewgle/
>>
>>61604484
Haha the nerf gun sounds great.

The Raspberry Pi only puts out 3.3V (I believe), so I the only things I can see that plug straight into it are tiny bulbs that won't be very visible across the room.

Any other kind of 'smart' bulb seems to be pretty expensive, or controlled by some proprietary app, or isn't widely used and I have no idea if I can control it through any wi-fi/bluetooth API.
>>
The right solution is to wire a few MOSFETs to your Pi and control the bulbs this way (you can switch up to 24V with a $2 thing form amazon, which is plenty for a decently bright lamp)

Unverified leaks. How will this play out? All of the remaining lavalake-x CPUs can clock over 4Ghz and tops at 165w tdp. Given sufficient cooling, Intel still holds the HEDT crown.

Will android ever seriously compete with Apple?

Right now the only reason to get an android device is if you can't afford the Apple equivalent. Will that ever change?

Not as long as Android stays on Java.

Why trying to compete ? There is more and more poor people thanks to Apple not paying taxes. More customer for Android, heh'. Full circle my good nigga.

Hi guys, I almost never post here so I'm sorry if this is the wrong board or if I'm not supposed to post this thread here.

I own a Canon EOS 700D and I want to buy a good microphone to make a film about a week I'm going to spend with some friends. I want something that I can just plug on my camera and put it on the... thing on the top. I really don't know shit about mics so I don't know how much it might cost, I want something that will record voices without too much trouble but I don't need something too professional or anything.

What can you rec me? How expensive can it get?

Hey there, it's not the wrong board but it's not the specalised board. You can go to photography which will help far more on this subject.

>>>/p/

:)
>>
Before the shitposting begins, it depends on your budget.
There are 30$ Rode shotgun mics out there which are pretty okay, even more so if you stick them on a pole. Only problem is they have kind of a constant background noise if you don't turn down the gain. I've heard you can reduce that using custom firmware on your camera (magic lantern or an equivalent).
If you want actually good quality, I would recommend using an external audio recorder with an xlr-input, that's basically the only way to get actually great sound.
Depends on what you want and/or need.
Also look into post-production with Adobe audition or something like that, you can still save a lot of stuff from terrible audio.

Hope I could help

/p/ is kinda slow though, isn't it?
