My right knee sounds like a bag of rocks grinding together when I squat. Even with just bodyweight. It doesn't hurt, but I'm concerned that there might be a sudden injury waiting to happen and/or long-term damage occurring. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm trying to do some research before going to an orthopedist as I suspect they would advise me to just not lift.

I get this too, except my right knee's always clicked even before lifting. Got an xray of it and they said they couldn't see anything, asked if I wanted MRI but declined because I'm a poorfag. Still don't know what's wrong with it, but it's done it since like middle school. No major injuries or sports back then, so I have no idea what caused it

I've healed years ago stopped training after a while because I'm an idiot and now still stuck with the problem

right now the side imbalance is noticeable in almost all standing exercises (I can DL lmao1p8 with no form problems at all tho)
squat is the worse and I'd rather save my back for the long run

/fatfuck/ here hoping to get some input on my decided daily weight loss routine

>Currently 5'2, ~190lb
>decided to go with Atkins/South Beach type diet
>TDEE of 2'500
>100cal protein shake in the morning
>30 minutes of cardio and light lifts
>Unsweetened tea with fiber, maybe a protein bar for a snack
>Another 100 calorie protein shake for lunch, maybe some cottage cheese and cucumbers
>Try to squeeze in another light work out
>Big salad with cheese, nuts, eggs, and olives and shit for dinner
>Estimate consumed calories 1'500

If I stick to this will I be burning muscle instead of fat? The goal is two pounds a week. Anything that can/should be changed? Is it possible to get too much protein?

what burns more calories, aerobic or anaerobic exercises?

consider the following: if aerobic exercises use fat as an energy source, and anaerobic exercises use stored sugar. those burned fats don't get as easily replaced as the stored sugars, so whats more efficient? also if you use anaerobic exercises this tends to spur hormone production which are made out of fats.

considering that time invested in aerobic exercises is at least 2x bigger than anaerobic exercises; what is better?

correct me if I'm wrong

Depends on the time frame.
Doing a heavy deadlift for 3 seconds burns more calories than running for 3 seconds.
You can run for 10 minutes, but you can't keeping doing deadlifts for 10 minutes.

If your goal is to burn the most calories (e.g. 100+), some form of middle intensity cardio (jogging) is probably best. Maybe high intensity interval training is even better.
If your goal is to burn the most calories from body-kept fat storage, some form of low intensity cardio (walking) is probably best.

Hey guys,

I am 24 years old, just had blood tests come back with the following results:

My testosterone: 1.8 ng/ml
Normal range: 2.49 - 8.36 ng/ml

I've been told to take some supplements with 2000mg L-Arginine HCl, 20mg L-Histidine, 5mg Zinc, and 0.95mg OPC (an anti-oxidant as far as I could tell). I was thinking of taking ZMA as well but I'm reading that in reality it doesn't help for this.

Do you have any other suggestions for me to boost my testosterone production? Other than hitting the gym (I already do), being sexually active (I have a girlfriend). Any supplements that come to mind?

So all the sudden my left hip started hurting when I squat. Obviously hurts more if I squat more weight but wondering wtf is up. We don't like admitting it, but squatting heavy is not safe. Squats and deadlifts are the two top exercises leading to injuries. Most of the cases they lead to back injuries, which are very hard to fully recover from. A lot of the times, you will never get as healthy as before.


So I was wondering: since I still want to squat and deadlift, would finding a safe mark and work volume after that be effective fighting injuries?

Example: Squat. Let's be serious here, unless you are an olympic athlete you don't need to squat more than your bodyweight. So what if a beginner works a 3x5 to reach his body weight and then switch to 4x8? He would still progressing but he would not mutilate his back for, dare I say it, just ego lifting.

Why the fuck do treadmills even exist? Why would you pay for a gym membership to do cardio it's literally the biggest waste of money, just go outside and run in the park or something.
