Hey /fit/, I need your advice please.

I'm 21, 5'11, and I'm guessing around 220 pounds (haven't weighed myself in years).

I've tried going to the gym and eating clean 3 different times in my life now (within 3 years). All three times I have failed in about 3-4 weeks of trying. The reasons I give up are just the usual crappy excuses that I convince myself are legitimate. I end up hating myself for it, and go straight back to binge eating and telling myself that it's okay to look the way I do. Recently, I broke up with my ex and something triggered me to give working out and being healthy another shot. I'm tired of living the way that I do and not caring about my body, so I am now eating clean and going on runs every 2 or 3 days. I'm also doing little home workouts every day as well with DB's.

I DO NOT want to fail at this again, so my goal is to build some strength before I go to the gym again so that I don't just get discouraged straight from the get go and end up quitting again if I fail to do some type of workouts there. My question for you guys is what are some home workouts I can do with 2 DB's with interchangeable weights ranging from either 20 pounds on each, or 40 pounds on a single DB. Or anything else I can do at home to build strength like push ups or something?

I would love to know what you guys think.

Sorry for my bad english i am not an native english speaker.
Running is oblioisly the best to burn calories or fat.
I think you should go to the gym and do multijoint exerices , such as squat or deadlift.
Also mark up everything you eat, make yourself a diet plan, with around 150g of protein, 80g of healthy fats and around 200kcal.
If you to these right you will be fit, there is nothing what can stop you.

You work out at the gym. You build strength and gains at the gym.

You keep those gains by not overeating.

Don't be afraid to go to the gym and just have a fun short workout, especially at the start.

Do you actually think people who workout 5-6 days a week don't have one day a week where they just do fun shit like play basketball or jump in on the kickboxing class or swim laps.

Not everything has to be worried about your 1rm.

Also people on the internet like to be obsessed about working out 'right' and not 'wrong'. While form is important, Weightlifting is not science.

Dumb guys are really good at it. Weight goes up, weight goes down you get stronger.

The main reason people fail is that they simply do not go to the gym enough.

Keep a bag packed and ready to go in your trunk so you can go to the gym at the drop of a hat.

Don't listen to other guy, at that weight and height you can cut by eating 2200 a day. Start off with the diet, people fail because they try to do too much at once and lack willpower. If you only eat when you're actually hungry and not just bored a diet will be easy desu. Get skinny and then bulk to muscle, best way to do it

Ok fit so I've posted about this a few times on here before, and while this isn't exactly a problem you guys haven't really been wrong so far.

So a while back I posted about how my fit big brother kept flaking out on me after promising we'd workout together, on a lot of occasions, and when I told him I was going to just join a gym by myself he sharply told me not and basically told me I couldn't.

Well fit you told me to ignore him and do it anyways. I did. But to my surprise he didn't get angry, like not at all. Actually he became really supportive of it. He started encouraging me to push through the pain and for once openly gave me advice.

What else is weird is that after my first paid day he made a point to ask how the other members and staff were speaking to me. I didnt entirely get why he asked but told him that everyone was pretty supportive.

Let me emphasize, he was pretty serious about me not joining a gym. I'm glad he's finally in my corner, I just don't get his sudden change of heart.

I fell for the modafinil meme brehs. I bought a bunch of this shit thinking it would help me study harder but it didn't work at all. I read all these posts about people getting tunnel vision and studying for hours on end and not realizing how much time went by without getting distracted but not me. All I got were the negative side effects. I should have done more research because I found a study that shows the only people who see an increase in cognitive function are people who aren't very bright to begin with and it actually slows reaction time and stifles lateral thinking (creativity/thinking outside the box) in smart people. How many of you guys used modafinil as a performance enhancer?

For those of you who are top of your class, what are some of your study habits and how do you deal with procrastination?

Anything else (muh motivation & drugs) is "doing it wrong".

Modafinil is not a performance enhancer, it just keeps you waked up. All the OTC effects are, well, side effects. Taking a pill just for its OTC self-diagnosed effects reported in a subreddit is inane. Doing so without a prescription is potentially criminal in some countries and potentially outright dangerous for yourself.
You americans have this thing for pills. You want a pill for everything. Grow a pair sometimes

Computer Science major/Business minor here. I wasnt top of my class the first half of the semester, but I made some habit changes and I slaughtered all my finals last semester. I think if I had those habits the whole time I would be top of my class. I kicked the adderall habit because it made me feel like shit the day after I took it.

-45 minutes on, 15 minutes off, this is strict timing. (Study for 45 min, fuck around for 15)
-Plan your study sessions like events that you cant miss
-Plan out the material to study so you stay on track
-If its hard, study with a smart group, emphasis on smart
-Studying/reviewing before bed helps memorization
-Start studying for exams early with shorter sessions every day. I like to start 1.5 weeks before an exam for an hour a day, then ramp it up to 3 hours a day several days before. This helps ease the stress
-For fucks sake get good sleep, sleep deprivation is terrible for learning
-Eat well, get some caffeine/carbs on heavy study days, redbull is my go-to

That depends what options are available to you. If you have a gun I'd say that's the easiest way to go out. If you want to die in your sleep you could try sealing all your windows, turning off your fire alarm and burning coal in a bucket/bowl in your room or you could take 5 Aleve or something.
