I keep hearing that Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the best martial art when it comes to a 1vs1 situation. They can supposedly beat literally anyone, regardless of whether that person is armed or not. Supposedly the safest martial art if you are facing someone armed with a knife actually. The downside would be that it's useless if there's more than one opponent.

Is all that really true? Is BJJ worth learning?

>actually thinking fighting someone who has a knife on you
why dont you just hang yourself and save everyone the trouble
>>
>>42597049
Do you think I fucking want to do that? Sometimes it is necessary. I actually live in Brazil and we have very high rates of criminals that rob people with knives and then stab them. It's a necessary skill.

They told me that in Jiu Jitsu you end up grappling your opponent, and that is what makes them unable to use their knife efficiently. They will attack you a few times depending on the technique you're using against them, but it won't do much damage. It'd be almost inevitable to leave the fight unscratched but you'd survive. With most other martial arts, however, you'll be fighting at a distance, and the person with the knife has the advantage then, especially if they actually know how to use a knife in a fight (granted, most morons don't).

Either way I just want to know if BJJ is really the best martial art for 1v1 situations.
>>
Are you fucking stupid. #1 rule you learn in any hand-to-hand martial art is that you avoid street fights and you definitely avoid fighting unarmed against someone with a weapon. It becomes a totally different ball game. The only application of a martial art in the street is to protect yourself.

But yes, almost every street fight leads to grappling eventually so learning to pin someone down and keeping yourself from getting pinned down is helpful.

IRL Usefulness: BJJ > Kickboxing > Boxing > Nothing

Is Keto diet good?

>>
>>42596671
If you want clogged arteries and be deficient in essential micro nutrients and fiber then yes keto is great.
>>
>>42596682
There is a strong genetic component to clogged arteries. Plenty of people eat absolute shit their entire lives and never get any artery problems.

Also the statistics on "heart disease" are puffed hugely because it also includes heart failure (pump wears out) and arrhythmias, which have nothing to do with artery clogging.

Vegancucks are complete faggots who do not know science or medicine

How the hell did boxers, MMA fighters, sprinters, marathon runners, swimmers and so on (people that can withstand very high aerobic demands) actually get there?

I've been lifting for years, have an aesthetic body and can't run for shit. I'm very easily out of breath when doing any physical effort, to the point that even sex feels hard for me (some seconds of pounding gets me out of breath and make me go limp).

The answer to my question is obviously "do cardio", but that's why I'm asking you guys for help. I obviously can't start training like the pros of the activities I cited, I would not stand it and it would be inneffective, like if a total newbie did a pro bodybuilding heavy routine.

Throughout the years I've tried many times starting beginner aerobic routines but I can never fucking progress - I can never swim more efficiently, I can never fucking ever bring my 5k time down (which is horrible), I can never ever build some conditioning. I even tried MMA classes one time but I simply cannot keep up, I almost pass out with just the warming up, and I tried keeping at it for a while and it never got better. Yet if I adjust my lifting routine and diet I can bulk or cut properly!

What the fuck do I do to improve my physical conditioning? Fuck being out of breath, please help a brother out

/fit/, just bought enough /sips/ to last me the two weeks minus rest days I'm cycling off creatine (therefore my current pre workout). My question is, can I safely add beta-alanine to my monster, or is it dangerous in some way?

I think it should be a rule that you have to be over 18 AND not a high school student to post on 4chan.

His pic is literally from the inside of a high school locker room, and this thread quality is what you would expect from a high school student

Hey /fit/.

So I'm almost *always* tired; I lack physical energy and perhaps even more so, have bad brain-fog all the time.

I exercise 3 to 5 times a week, and I get, on average, 8 or 9 hours of sleep a night. My diet is pretty balanced, and I do pretty good about getting at minimum maintenance calories in (if anything when I eat more I'm more tired).

What could be wrong? A vitamin deficiency? Low test?

Vitamin D?
>>
>>42596005

OP here; vitamin D should be okay, at least according to Chron-o-meter. Plus, when I work out I do it outside, to get those sun gains.
>>
>>42595995
I don't think it will be a vitamin deficieny. The only real way of actually telling would be a blood test.

How old are you? How long have you been feeling tired? Are you progressing in your workouts? Do you sleep all the way through the night or wakeup at points? Do you get morning wood fairly often / masterbate?
