Can I run 5km with shin splints? It's day 4 and I'm fine except for the pain in the knee and shin splints and some other stuff. The pain is not there as long as i'm running but when I stop to take a breath its back. Can I just ignore it and continue everyday or will it damage joints or bones?
>>42234147
Do easy runs on soft surfaces and ice them afterwards. Put water in a dixie cup, freeze it, then cut out the bottom the cup and use the ice to massage your shins and calves. You'll be good in no time
>>42234147
it'll go away in time, make sure to stretch your legs after running, maybe give them a deep massage. i like to kneel on a hard surface with my legs tucked under me to work on my shin splints. sometimes it's so painful i can put my full weight on them, but it helps a hell of a lot
Hey /fit/, could anyone have a routine to build strength but not size? Ideally I'd like to have a ballet dancer/mma fighter Phsyique, but I'm just skinny with strong arms/abs rn.
Pic very related
yes.
read the sticky.
lurk moar
>>42234153
I've already read the sticky, and I've already looked around /fit/ for a while. I was thinking on doing stronglifts 5x5, since it calls itself a strength program, but there's too much conflicting evidence on /fit/.
Then dance you gaybot..and wrestle or whatever. Isn't that how they get those bodies?
How much should you run to avoid killing gains?
Ive read max two times a week and only 20-50 minutes.

Recently I've been thinking about getting into triathlons. Can't fathom doing an Ironman, but I think with a lot of training and focus I could do an Olympic with a years worth of training.
I have a good background in swimming/very comfortable in the water, pretty good on the bike - last summer I picked up a bike for the first time in years and went 50 miles with a buddy... terrible runner, could maybe run 2 miles without stopping at a slow pace, could mentally push to maybe 3 if I needed to.
Where should I start training and what are some tips for getting my endurance up? I'm 6" 215lbs, athletic (played a handful of sports for years) but due to a busy schedule put on some weight.
I'm not looking to win a triathlon, I'd just like to get back into exercising with a purpose and I think training 3 things would keep it fun.
Any triathletes here that could help me out?
Safe up some money, equipment is expensive
This isn't about "Lookism" and isn't /fit/ related.
I post this on /fit/ because this is the only board who know which website is this.
Lookism is by far the best website on the internet about aesthetics and how to improve them; i know about Puahate, the Misc and Sluthate but that isn't the Thread.
I WANT TO FIND a redpill website like this ABOUT how to make more MONEY or how to improve in other aspects in life.
I wish the users of Lookism focus all that potential in things like Money
lookism is pure autism and trolling even more than this place. it's funnier though.
It's not, the whole board is just concentrated autism.
If you want to improve yourself find what you're good at and stick with it.
>>42233938
>>42233960
Lookism is useful to improve looks if you ignore all the gay shit and the autism
I want a website like that Focus on making Money
So /fit/ I'm only 20 and my hair is thinning to fuck all. I never had the thickest hair to begin with so it's really starting to look like shit. Is there anything I can do to help it or should I just accept my fate
Why is it that whenever I get stronger with my deficit deadlift that my conventional deadlift seems to automatically go up aswell?
>>42233859
Because you are a turbofaggot.
>>42233859
Range of motion.
When your posterior chain experiences pulling from a deficit (greater range of motion) when you then go back to pull conventional your posterior chain is like "wtf brah this rom is easy" and then suddenly your conventional feels a lot easier to pull because the rom is less, which allows you to pull more weight.
Seriously:
Does anyone weigh their food. I've been told by two trusted fitness trainers that I am binging on carbs! wtf
I am, damn! One a woman I've known 20+ years; the other a nationally known fitness trainer/naturopath.
Ideas? What do you do? I only weigh 150 lbs.
>>42233836
I do.
Cut up a 5 lbs of chicken breast into 1 lb servings of small chicken strips and store them in ziploc bags.
Weigh out a pound of pinto beans exactly before cooking.
Eat 0.25 lbs of pinto beans per day.
Things like that.
Yup, I weigh everything religiously. Only issue I've run into is weighing slow roasted pork loin, as it's a pain to portion and weigh before tossing it into the slow cooker.

How to achieve Michelin Man mode /fit/?
>>42233810
Just keep doing whatever you've done to get you to the fat, disappointing state you're in now.
What is the danger of skipping warm ups/warm up sets?
I don't use barbells. Only heavy ass dumbbells, bench etc.
Whats the worst that could happen if I cut warm ups/sets out completely?
>>42233767
Realistically, nothing unless you're doing heavy sets
For heavy sets, one or two warmup sets beforehand at 50-60% of my working weight usually helps my form keep solid
Lol well I used to think like you did for my first year and a half of lifting but...
Shoulder impingement came on strong and I needed six months physical therapy and still can't bench, only cable work for chest
Ballistic stretching beforehand, really hard stretching session after of static stretches. Imho the static stretching after workout is the most important part.
>>42233767
Like the other anon said, as long as it isn't really heavy then nothing too bad.
But otherwise
Horrible mobility. Increased adhesion.
Tendon pain
Joint pain
Main issue is that even if your muscles are loose and flexibly and ready to work your joints haven't warmed up yet to handle whatever load you're doing.
Assuming 17% bf.
can you get to othermode or anything bigger in six months?
>>42233698
>Assuming 17% bf.
I assume you're 25-30%. And the answer is no.
>>42233716
I measured this week.
been doing some cardio and diet, got from 25% to 17% in like ten months.
It depends how much lean mass you actually have, how genetically gifted you are and how hard you're willing to try
if you do everything absolutely perfect and are a novice of some sort you could absolutely make a noticeable change in six months
