Nobody said you have to be an Olympian in 2 years. The difficulty in learning the movement comes down to being able to repeat the exact same super efficient pattern on demand.

Individuals just starting out are always going to be less efficient and less able to preform the movement. But that doesn't necessary means that's bad. No sane individual NEEDS to snatch 220kg, but people do it only for the competition.

I used to be in very good shape. Then I went to college, started drinking beer.. then started drinking more beer... and I managed to go from a 140lb freshman to 200lbs when I graduated. In high school I was a water polo player and also went to the gym every day, and I'm getting back into it now.

I begin my workout with a mile on the treadmill (which I hope to increase to 3 miles over the next month), followed by weight training. How many reps should I be doing? I remember hearing that high reps are good for weight loss, so I've been doing sets of 20, but now I'm wondering if that's too much. Bearing in mind I am happy with how strong I am (somehow, all that beer and I have still retained all of my strength, so much for use it or lose it) and really just want to tone myself up and lose the dad bod. Any advice?

The most important thing is to concentrate on form. Make sure you have good posture still before working out, otherwise you will destroy your shoulders and will only hit your muscles sub-optimally.

Weights for muscle and cardio for fat loss. Dont attempt to use weights for removing fat. It is not near to being optimal.

Instead of running do HIIT with a jump rope. 1 minues as fast as you can with a 1 minute break. Repeat 10x. And modify as necessary.

Do not neglect your core.

I have no idea why but lying leg curls and preacher curls with a super slow negative feel so damn good, it feels like the world isn't even there, there's just you and the muscle stretching and contracting.
10/10 would always include them every time i change lifting routine

You milk a beginner LP like SL for as long as you can. Switching to an intermediate program before that is pointless, you won't make gains any faster. You'll just waste your time.

I have a month off from work, and i want to use it to increase my weight loss even more. 1.5 Years ago i was 156KG, now im 95. A healthy weight for me would be around 75 so i want to do the last 20 in a fasting period.

My question is, if i exercised regularly and fasted for 3 weeks, how much could i lose? is 20kg obtainable ?

Just took antibiotics, Ciprofloxacin for three days (500mg x2) because I "could have" a bowel infection (i had nothing)

This shit is the worst shit on earth, now my ankle hurts and my shoulder feels impigmented, i can't internal rotate it. Cipro seems to cause tendon damage that is long lasting and other weird side effects

I hope it's temporal but it seems that this pain is chronic after taking a few pills

Have caution, never take this fucking shit, I'm scared shitless now that i will have permanent damage because of this, it seems doctors give this shit openly to people in fitness and wreck lives

As long as you're young you should be fine after a while. Shit like this fucked my dad up for a long time though, he had really bad tendonitis in his whole body, and it took several years before he felt normal again.

That sucks op. Guy infections are very tough to fight. What you got is one of the best ways, best being determine by factors like safest and easiest to take, you are very right to be worried and it would be very wise not strain your tendons. Heyya /fit/

So I have scoliosis, which isn't a bending of the spine but rather is a twist, like a spring, of the spine from the hips up to the skull. Because x-rays are 2d, it looks bent in an s-curve.

In order to counteract a muscular imbalance in the ability of the upper torso and lower torso to twist in one direction, I created this sling brace that attaches from the right shoulder to the right glute. You take a band, wrap it around the shoulder across the upper back, diagonally across the stomach back around to the right glute.

I took this guy's exercise idea, pic related, and made it into a brace. It's definitely doing something, but my attachment point is my belt I have a buckle that I slide onto my belt by my hip. But being attached to my belt it doesn't activate my right glute much, the tension gets caught on my lower left ribs and that's not ideal.

Thoughts on how to better engage my right glute? Aside from stitching the buckle into my asscheek?

So far it's done a lot to transfer the stress from my right shoulder a lot, which used to slump forward hard. I feel more tension put into my left glute after a long day out, which isn't ideal, and possibly it's loading the right side of my neck a bit, which is also not great. I'm just feeling it out at this point and seeing where I can make tweaks, but it's a good start to the path to developing a cure. There's no biological reason other than nobody has developed a reliable, scientifically based fix yet, as to why we can't cure something Hippocrates wrote about thousands of years ago. No reason.
