So i'm looking to dry all the food. Not necessarily beef jerky but all the Other meat.
The goal is to make my own trekking food. Mushrooms, fruit shouldn't be a Problem but i would like your experiences about the topic. Maybe anyone has ever tried cooking dry meat up again?
It's just important to get the meat to last longer.

just eat a big mac you'll be fine

What if you're living in a country where they don't build a mc Donalds in the woods? I've heard they don't go Bad for a long time but i rather have something i can Quickly Cook up with water

cooking with dry meat isn't hard. I rehydrate it in broth for a few hours before cooking them, and usually use it in soup since the texture gets affected by drying.
Why are these so good? I could eat a whole jar in one sitting if I lacked willpower.
Does anyone else agree that pickles are fucking awesome as a snack? What are your favorite pickles to snack on?

Do not support companies that sell "kosher" products.
Boycott Israel.

op's pic is best pickles. I buy the huge jar and eat it with salt and pepper pop corn with no butter.
I went trough 4 jars in a month and im taking a break but my mouth just watered thinking about it.
I add black widow or sanchez's widow sauce to it for major pucker factor.
Would this make a good date night meal with my girl?
Smoked salmon on cream cheesed toast with dill, capers and sea salt.
It's simple to put together, but looks clean, and classy
>triggered by how uneven that tray/table is
that sounds like a snack OP

Have a vegan friend who legitimately believes red meat causes cancer. What should I tell them?
That like any substance, consume in moderation and with a healthy lifestyle one will be fine.
You should tell him you don't want to be friends anymore.
That he's a faggot.
Just got an AeroPress for my dad's birthday tomorrow. Anyone else use this thing?
I heard about those fairly recently and I'm somewhat intrigued by it, but
>$30 for plastic
Granted, I haven't tasted coffee from one of those before, but it all seems like a scam to me. I couldn't see myself spending more than $10 for that.

I prefer it hugely over my french press, tastes breddy gud.
>>9191647
>Anyone else use this thing?
He won't by the following birthday.
anyone here ever eat halloumi? I'm thinking of getting some over the weekend to see what it's like
I fried mine with lemon olive oil, then added basil & oregano. Was p. tasty IIRC
Tried it once as a part of a kebab stick. It was pretty good, nice and firm so it held up to grilling, but very mild flavor.

Cheese designed to be grilled and/or fried? How the fuck could you go wrong? Love the stuff. Keep in mind it is a massive blast of salt and fat, and plan the rest of your meal accordingly.
>"session beer"
Is there a dumber fucking term?
>>9191257
Yes, Saison.
>>9191257
>a beer that has a relatively low alcohol content and is therefore suitable for drinking over an extended period.
so it's a Small Beer. This is what used to be called 'small beer'. Though Small Beer actually had even lower alc content.
Blackened Salmon Fillets
Sauteed Frozen Vegetable Medley
White Rice with a drizzle of Soy Sauce
Served on a plastic plate from the 99 Cents Only Store
wa la
a meal fit for /fit/. but not for human consumption
>>9191321
how so?
At least you're making some sort of effort, anon.
But promise me you'll treat your salmon better next time - salt it lightly and broil/oven for 2 minutes, then glaze it in some mixture of soy sauce, chilli powder, sugar, mirin, tiny bit of oil, or whatever else along those lines you have. Then back in the oven for another 5 or so, maybe less if it's thin.
If you're feeling fancy drop some spring onion or sesame on it after.

My typical order is as follows:
>One bean burrito with no onions, extra red sauce
>Steak soft taco
>Cheesy fiesta potatoes
>side of nacho cheese sauce for burrito
>Medium baja blast
Sometimes I add in one of those mini chicken quesadillas if I'm still hungry

210mm vg10 hattori fh series gyuto, awesome handle and great sharpness for vg10, bolster is a little sharp and uncomfotable and edge geometry has a real problem with sticktion really similar to the classic shun which is a very common knife.

This lil fucker showed up at my door today from Japan. I tested it on slicing some French baguette in half, it was alright. Then I took it to some cantaloupe skin and it just wizzed right through it. So toothy it can dig into my cutting board.
Going to hit the bakery for a full loaf later on. Best budget investment ever.
>>9190011
Why hate on VG10? It seems great for people who don't want to care about maintaining carbon steel.
>>9190329
its kinda in a weird spot now as R2 objectively better and the chinese 9Cr18Mov is just as hard with a decent heat treat for a better price. It used to be a super steel but now its just old news.
Is it socially acceptable to step outside a dining establishment for a cigarette break? The reason I ask is because I have good friend whom I meet on a weekly basis for dinner. My friend, incidentally, is a smoker. With that being said, whenever we're in the middle of a meal, he usually will crave a cigarette and then step outside, as no restaurants allow smoking inside anymore. Sometimes he'll ask that I join him, as I occasionally smoke cigarettes, but I'm invariably hesitant because I fear the restaurant staff will suspect us to dine and dash. Anyway, is this something to worry about, or am I just being a straightedged faggot?
>>9189644
If your friend can't sit through a dinner without smoking then he is an addict.
>>9189653
This is very true.
I'm on your side, OP. I'd be paranoid as the customer and suspicious as the staff if both of you abandoned your table and went outside.
>>9189656
I forgot to mention my friend has been waiting tables for the last 7 years
Are flowers /ck/ approved ingredients?
>>9189045
well figs are flowers and figs are pretty tasty
Artichokes are baller
>>9189045
I don't really cook them but edible ones make a nice garnish. On this subject though, can you cook and eat a sunflower?

I should be having it right now, but I'm never hungry the first 3 hours I'm awake.
