So far my favourite is Lagavulin 16 yo. I know it's pretty mainstream but I can't get over how the peat mingles well with the taste from the casks.

Italian food is noob tier food. Anybody can fucking make italian food and it doesn't require technical precision to make it taste good. It's mainly meat, cheese tomatoes, cream, or crabs. Throw in some good tasting herbs like basil and oregano, use olive oil. Even their desserts are just rich cream filled stuff. It doesn't take a pro to make good tasting ingredients taste good. In comparison to cuisine like Asian fare where they take ingredients that you wouldn't except to be good and turn it into something amazing (ie, wasabi root, fish sauce etc)

Irish commentary aside, I'm starting with sourdough starter from the fridge about 24 hours in, and a separate milk and flour dough which I will mix together when they both reach room temperature.

Not really.

Because it's relatively cheap and will last you forever. The more you use it, the better it gets. Not a lot of things do that these days.

Also it works with most sources of heat. Fire, coal, gas, electric (both the coil and flat tops), oven safe, etc. Heck, you could leave it in the hot sun and probably fry an egg in the middle of the summer.

They have great heat retention. You can remove it from the heat, and it will still keep cooking. That's great if you're cooking over coals and want to move it off the fire because it seems to be getting too hot. Once it starts to cool, you can push it back over them again.

Made a nice sandwich though i would share it.

3 chicken breast flayed and cut in half then pounded out, put in zip-lock bag to marinate for 30 min. Grilled over charcoal
Jarred roasted red pepper, cut into strips then lightly grilled
Center cut bacon, peppered and baked till crisp
Sun dried tomato pesto, store bought
Provolone cheese, 2 slices per
shredded lettuce
6 kaiser rolls, sprayed with olive oil and a sprinkle of garlic powder, then toasted on the grill. Each half got a slice of provolone.
Adjust cost for ingredients was 40 so each sam was 6.666666667, not to bad if you have people to feed. Only complaint was they were hefty, told those faggots to press it down and shut the fuck up.
