But I'm looking for a family run establishment that serves great burgers at even better prices, preferably one that doesn't take kindly to blacks. Surely there's a restaurant in this town that fits this description.

Is white garlic better than laurete, or are they just different?
Purple garlic is superior in terms of boldness and aromatics when compared to white garlic. There's a greater depth of body which is more complimentary of savory dishes than standard garlic. You really have to be aware of flavor profiles to taste the difference though, I'm not sure your general consumer without having worked with either for long would be able to distinguish between the two.
>>8104952
What this anon says is correct, in essence. You see, being able to distinguish the complex tastes and aromas of your garlic is something you really have to learn from experience. It's something you have to commit time to, something you want to learn about. I've tried every kind of garlic i've ever been able to get my hands on, and I was able to note 15 unique characteristics for each one, all based on aroma and flavor profiles.
In answer to your question, and as the poster earlier said, no kind is necessarily better. Some are just more suited to dishes than others. But they all deserve their own place in history.

Go buy some chinese garlic and then go buy some local garlic from wherever you live, and make some mayonaise out of both types roasted.
You'll notice a big difference.

Coriander aka Cilantro makes me gag
Anyone else have this problem? It's annoying because I like trying new dishes but if there is cilantro in it, it just overpowers everything for me and makes me feel quite sick
>>8104770
>Anyone else have this problem?
yes. Apparantly, its >muh genetics
However, you can "train" yourself to get used to it.
I can now tolerate cilantro levels around 5% of what the recipe calls for, and its not overwhelming, and I can discover some nice taste aspects in it.
>>8104770
>Anyone else have this problem?
Not me.
>>8104770
It's just an aquired taste, I just to hate it now I love it. Simple as that.

Does your country have a secret iconic food?
For example, in Germany this curry flavoured ketchup is known by all. You can find it in a lot of homes, in every supermarket, a lot junk food huts squeeze it on their sausages. They have been producing this sauce for over half a century and didn't even change the packaging once.
