any autists here with an extremely limited palette?
i'm a grown adult yet i cant even swallow most culinary vegetables. peas, corn, and carrots are what i can usually stomach and bell peppers are about as far as i'll go. things like broccoli, cauliflower, and mustard are totally off the menu.

most meats and simple-tasting foods like potatoes are totally fine. i also like sweets, but desserts with fruits (like pies and parfaits) are just too sweet and i cant eat them.

what do you usually eat? my diet consists mostly of chicken breast, ramen, string cheese and apples.

>>
I'm autistic too, but I can eat pretty much anything.
I don't like most sodas though, and I especially dislike cola. Not fond of most sweets either.

What the fuck how is cooking so fucking hard

I follow the instructions exactly

How do my mustard seeds get burned every single time? Curry leaves, also burned

The vegetable never gets cooked properly, it just doesnnt cook no matter how long i leave it on the heat, I've tried high heat, I've tried low heat, the only thing that happens is the spices slowly get burned while the vegetable (potatoes today) just gets coated with spices but never gets fucking cooked

What the fuck

>>
indian cooking aint easy mane.

Are you using a thin pot not a dutch oven? That will transfer heat too quickly and burn stuff.

Also sounds like you should add some cocounut milk, tin tomatoes or stock to your curry whatever before stuff burns, so you can leave it on low heat until your veges are cooked.
>>
This is just the beginning. Even when cooking "easy" american/italian/mexican/whatever recipes I still manage to fuck up, taking at least 3x longer than I should be taking even though i'm constantly doing things

>If you keep cutting vegetables you'll eventually become good,s

I've watched countless youtube videos on how to cut onions or mince garlic and every time, even if I go super slowly it just ends up separating and making a giant mess and it takes forever to cut the direction

Irrelevant if it has gone bad
If you want it to last, freeze it. Otherwise, maybe a week idk
>>
>>8106589
Probably two or three days, but trust your nose.
>>
indefinitely as long as you cook it, which kills the harmful bacteria

Guys,

How do you reheat spaghetti?

I put it in a colander over hot water and steam heat it with a nice dollop of olive oil to help unstick it.

Also, things that are good to put on spaghetti. Related: although I doubt I'd ever put an egg on it.

>>
I don't. It's cheap so I throw out leftovers; it's easy to make. It literally only takes 15 minutes to make boil spaghetti.
>>
>>8106587
Yeah but sometimes I want reheated bolognese in the morning and I just don't like wasting the spag since I always cook way too much anyway.

I hate leftover pasta - but if I must eat it I will. I find it gets too mushy if I try to reheat it.

What I do to avoid this is make lots of sauce that I can reheat whenever, and use a measuring scale to measure out exactly how much pasta I want so I avoid leftovers. Then I just make new pasta when I want.

Good things on spaghetti: Amatriciana sauce. It is God's sauce. Works even better with bucatini.

ITT tell us about myths or overall concepts that you've heard about in cooking that annoy you.

I'll start, I fucking hate it when people think the cores of any fruit will kill you

>b-but anon it's chewier and has seeds!
why not just spit them out?
>but I don't wanna!

this is on par with actual retards who won't let different colored foods touch

Apple cores are completely unpalatable. Your argument is dumb.
>>
>>8106551
Well, it has arsenic, but you'd have to eat a LOT for it to poison you. For some dogs, it's death though.

Undercooked pork in particular, extremely exaggerated risk. But generally, undercooked stuff (eggs, fish...).

Weird that beef is more acceptable to undercook of any animal product when prions are sort of a bigger deal than most transmitted viruses/bacterium

I'm intrigued by the idea of just cooking up some rice, sprinkling some stuff on it, and maybe have some sauteed vegis with it, and having a full, healthy meal in a few minutes under a few bucks.

Seems like Furikake could fit the bill?

And According to google, I have a japanese grocery in town, so I probably could try it.

The wikipedia article is a bit short, so anything /ck/ would advice me on? Do you really just put it on rice, as is? Anything else I would need to watch out for?

>>8106220
That's not much of a meal, but yeah furikake is pretty good.

Kind of overpriced for what it is though. Just buy some seaweed, sesame seed, salt, sugar, bonito flakes, and throw it all in a blender.
>>
>>8106240
If you buy those sesame seaweed snacks, then you just have to add bonito flakes to it.
>>
>>8106240
>That's not much of a meal,
Sure. But sometimes you just have to have some light, minimal time needed things.
