I need help /ck/... I've been drinking beer since I was around 15 years old (24 now) and, while I've had my share of rums, tequilas and wines, I've never been big into spirits and other liquors. Until recently, this qt Asian girl I was dating got me into whiskey, 2 years ago. I know there's single malt and blended and lots of other stuff to look at, but I feel like I still don't know shit about whiskeys and I'm sure I've only had entry-level stuff; JDs, Black Label, Glenlivet (the "cheap" one with the light blue label)... I thought this last one was pretty good compared to the others, but I've seen it has shit ratings everywhere. So far, pic related has been my go to, since it's not expensive and tastes good enough to me. I read that red label is cheap quality and meant to be mixed, is that the case with white label too? I just wanna know my shit before I order something at a bar.

At that price range you'll find much better bourbons than scotches. You will NOT find a decent scotch for $20, anywhere. So look for Wild Turkey 101, or if you can get it, Larceny.

Listen carefully because this is very important advice. Lots of people think cooking is all about complicated recipes, big cookbooks and arduous effort. Really it's more of an innate thing.

Learning to cook is much more simple, so pay close attention to what I'm going to say. Are you listening?

Fry an egg and experiment with various seasoning. This will give you an idea of what flavours go well together which is the most important quality in cooking. Fry an egg, cut it in quarter, season each quarter differently. Try one with cayenne and, I dunno, chives? Just experiment with lots of seasoning combinations.

Then fry another egg and repeat the process. Keep frying eggs and experimenting until you get a good idea of what works. You can eat 3-4 eggs in a day, heck you're from /fit/ so probably 6+. If you eat 6 eggs in a day, that's 24 egg quarters, 24 seasoning combinations in a day. You're talkng about 1000 seasoning combinations in just over a month.

At this stage you'll be a spicemaster and what/how you cook wont matter because you'll be better at seasoning than 99% of professional chefs, and this WILL make you a good cook.

How much water and vinegar for my 2 cups of sushi rice?

The internet's opinion is very mix and goes from 1.15 to 2.0 cups of water per cup of rice

Check the package for the rice. Different types use differing amounts of water.

I normally rinse the ever living fuck out of the rice, which should be short grained for best results. I then do a 1-1 ratio of water to rice. After its done cooking, I add a tablespoon of rice vinegar, a tablespoon of sugar, and 1/2 tablespoon of salt per cup.

after its dry let the rice soak for 30min to 1hr

if you use 2 cups use 2.5 cups water

eh I've been working for Kroger for 10 years, that's already a lot of my time. It's convenient.. I mean it's a job. Sure I hate my life but it's work! And they have benefits. My pay isn't so bad either. And who would hire me? I think I'm just meant to work uncomfortably for the rest of my life. Puts hair on your chest.

Got some delivery from a new place in sterling, VA. I was not expecting it to be this good, but damn it is so good. They delivered the pho deconstructed, now I got broth to use on whatever, fucking nice. The sandwich was not soggy at all like you would expect from delivery, saving the ribs and rice for later but looks good as fuck.

Before getting this food I never would have considered making a yelp account but I am going to make one just to give them 5 stars. delivery this good, dining in must be even better, heckkk even the same it doesn't matter.

This was all $25.

Who makes the best value menu chicken sandwich? I'm not sure why but the cheap one from jack in the box really steals my wool. I think the mayo they use might be different but also I like the bread and chicken better than McDonald's or Wendy's.
