Ah yes, there's no greater way to spend a Friday night... wandering around Philadelphia by myself drinking gin. Nothing beats it.

I was under the impression that it was always sunny in Philadelphia.
sad...
should be drinking rum
Bro you're like a 2 minute walk from Monks
Does it make sense to cook chicken in a slow cooker? I've taken internet advice on how to cook chicken breasts in slow cookers but they always turn out mushy and dry. Are chicken thighs a better choice?
I got a slow cooker as a gift and want to use it to make a lot of food at once that I can freeze and eat throughout the week.
thighs are always a better choice especially when the fault is that the meat is dry
breasts are lame and depend on the sauce and other parts of the meal, white meat is never going to carry a meal

Nothing looks that good coming out of a slow cooker

I think that's before it's even turned on.
Out of all the boards on 4chan, /ck/ has some of the funniest pasta.

Mine is:
Yesterday evening I opted to have a quick dinner at Subway. I enjoy their moderate prices and fresh vegtables.
I got my typical order of a Footlong tuna salad sub with extra cucumbers and Italian dressing on wheat with a bag of baked lays and a diet Dr. Pepper. The total came to $6.84 which is fairly affordable for such a mild meal. But after I ordered the problems began.
As the customer service representative was finishing my sandwich, I had the urge to use the men's room, I excused myself and took care of business.
When I returned the teller was glaring at me and didn't wish me a nice evening after the transaction was complete. I sat and ate my meal in silence and then left. I didn't even feel comfortable reading one of their complementary newspapers.
It should be the responsibility of all employees to make the customers feel welcome and happy. I didn't have a good experience and was hoping to get in touch with someone at Subways corporate office. Who do you think I should direct my question to?

favourite /ck/ pasta?
For me, it's the McChicken. The best fast food sandwich. I even ask for extra McChicken sauce packets and the staff is so friendly and more than willing to oblige.
One time I asked for McChicken sauce packets and they gave me three. I said, "Wow, three for free!" and the nice friendly McDonald's worker laughed and said, "I'm going to call you 3-for-free!".
Now the staff greets me with "hey it's 3-for-free!" and ALWAYS give me three packets. It's such a fun and cool atmosphere at my local McDonald's restaurant, I go there at least 3 times a week for lunch and a large iced coffee with milk instead of cream, 1-2 times for breakfast on the weekend, and maybe once for dinner when I'm in a rush but want a great meal that is affordable, fast, and can match my daily nutritional needs.
I even dip my fries in McChicken sauce, it's delicious! What a great restaurant.
Im looking for a bento box, it cant be pinku (thats japanese for pink) or any girl color. It has to be of 2 or more kotoba (thats japanese for 2 compartments) and has be be chibi (small) sized. And has to be really kawaii (cute). Also It has to be about 10-20 bux. And you have to post pics of it first (i want to make shure it's kawaii [cute]). And it would be nice if it came with matching chopstick holder (WITH chopsticks). OH! and it CANNOT have any cartoon pictures, or be made out of plastic. It has to be made of ceramic, or something like that. Also it would be nice if it was made in japan. and not in china or corea (korea) or whatever. I have found a bento box similar to the one im describing in e-bay, but it was 1 kotoba, and i dont want my gohan (rice) to touch my other things (it can get wet and i would not like that, plus 2 compartments looks more kawaii)
Is this good?
Saw some at my local liquor store and almost picked it up but it was like $16-17 for a four pack or something, I figured it can't be all that great. Went back some time later though and it was all gone.

I personally am in love with it. Nothing like staying in on a frigid Friday night nursing a strong Dragon's Milk.
A 4pk runs me about $12 in Atlanta. I would say it's worth it at that price point, but maybe there's a cheaper alternative.
>>8464734
It's a good stout, and not overpriced at $4.25 a beer IMO. You don't really want more than 2 in a sitting anyway as it's pretty heavy.
It's not bad, worth a try, $16 is on the high end for it though. If you like sweet stouts you'll get a kick out of it.
guys i've never cooked at all before and I'm not going to bore you with the details, but is using a crock pot as easy as everyone says it is? i.e. just plop some chicken in there and some mixed vegetables or rice and just check on it in 6 hours? I feel like i'm missing an important step and don't want to waste money on food that i'd have to throw away because I cooked it wrong. forgive my retardedness and pls no bully
>>8464638
Needs liquid, like a broth or stock, maybe some wine. But yeah, it's that easy.
don't put chicken in it, it comes out gross always
use a cheap cut of beef

When you are eating with someone, are you supposed to try to match their pace?
Kinda, depends on how well you know them and care
Yes, otherwise you look silly and awkward with nothing to do whilst the other person eats.
/autism/ general?
>eating with someone
People actually do this?
Huh
Do you know how can I cook this table?
Thanks
>>8464401
Douse yourself in gasoline, sit on the table, and light a match.
>>8464403
Oh and stick a sprig of parsley up your ass for flavor
>>8464401
It's practically useless as an ingredient due to the chemical stain and treatment
That also makes it useless for smoking unless you have some chemical method of removing those obstacles
Wood is inedible even without the treatments though so your best bet would be to use it fir smoking, though it's likely made out of wood that wouldn't provide very good flavor to anything
Think before you buy shit like this. At least google to see if it's edible you dunce
Let's talk juice
What's your favorite and do you have any weird techniques for making juice?
>>8464374
Cranberry/pomegranate. Chases a shot of vodka or whiskey pretty well.
>>8464374
Why would I want to take the texture out of my fruit and vegetables so i can drink something with more sugar and calories than soda?
Fuck juice fags. If I'm not drinking beer or coffee, I drink water.
Orange juice with pulp is God tier. Açai juice is pretty good as well
How did the US drop the ball on something as basic as providing non-shitty food for kids?
I'm so jealous at what others get.

France looks worse
Everywhere else in the world has MUCH MUCH smaller school populations, they're MUCH MUCH more densely packed, and they generally receive more state funding.
Also, state funding. It's up to individual states to figure out their education budget and because the fed has started enforcing "healthy diet options" for school lunch instead of figuring out a way to curb HFCS consumption (the real reason kids are fat), the state is basically forced to find the absolute cheapest slop to meet the nutritional requirements.
Basically the answer is "federal government shoving its nose into other peoples business" as usual.
How do I get over my fear of making dishes that have too many ingredients?
Pic related. I just wanted to make a salad but now I have to spend $100 at the grocery store for food for a single meal.
Grass fed butter? Lmao.
What kind of salad?
>>8464164
it's a keto salad
You do it often enough that all your left over and extra things get used in other meals. It's more about keeping a wide range of ingredients on hand than getting things you need for specific meals.
so what does /ck/ think of the mcchicken? I think it's pretty good, but the spicy mcchicken is better

Looking for some input, /ck/. I'm in my last semester of food sci. undergrad and am, therefore, in product development class. My group has been assigned with making pollock roe marketable to millennials. Any ideas?
Picture kind of related
Play up the weeaboo angle by calling it myeongnan (Korean culture is more popular than Japanese or Chinese atm); make a point of it being rich in 'good fats' and micronutrients; take advantage of its ability to absorb fat-soluble flavours.
Any of these work as a start?

also sriracha, pumpkin spice, bacon, nutella and other foods this board meme shits all over are a good start
