Whatever /biz/ is saying I do the opposite.
*genius*
>>1096293
But /biz/ says everything. Just as many people will tell you to long on X as other will tell you to short it.
You shorted Eth?
>>1096297
What I meant is that when most of /biz/ agrees on something I agree to disagree.
It goes up and down, round and round,
It's got thrills and shills,
And its very brightly colored..
Regardless of which side of the table you're on, the crypto market is proving to be extremely volatile lately.
So, which cryptos are you trading?
What timeframes do you prefer? Can your nerves of steel stand the 1-3-5 min tick trading, or are you sticking to 1h/2h frames?
Which indicators do you trust the most in this environment?
How are you faring agains the bots? Have you learned how to play them, or piggyback ride their whale buyouts and selloffs to great success? Or are you using your own algos in which case how have they proven lately?
In any case, its been quite a ride the last couple of weeks, gonna be fun to see where its heading
Just shut up and buy ETH
I want to play a little bit on kraken but I still don't understand the maker/taker fees system.
1. Am I right in thinking that when setting a fixed not yet available price for a transaction the maker fee applies and when in instant operations the taker fee is charged?
2. Krakens description also says that if I then place a next order which will execute before the maker order it will be charged with a taker fee. Could I bypass it i.e. by making the second order in another currency as in EHT/EUR and ETH/USD?
3. Considering that my maker/taker understanding is correct - are my assets somehow frozen once I place an order?
4. A more general question - is there a limit to how much volume I can instantly buy when I see that the price is appealing?
My first buy in BTC was at $700 per coin and over two year later I sold at $400 for a $1072 profit.
My balls are made of concrete. I never sell for a loss.
How does a reqular person sells expensive art (around 600k usd)? Are there particular galleries for that?
>>1095083
I'd look at specific art auction houses, also art dealers in that price range and get a evaluation of price from multiple art elevaluators (what ever they're called.
You invite every fucking hollywood star possible and play on their hubris.
You can sell this stuff anywhere, what is important is who is aware of this selling.
>>1095083
That's a tranny right?
>give and take
>volunteer work
>don't do it for the money
>its for the community!
why does getting a job involve being a cuck? I don't want to do any of these things. fuck you and give me my pay check.
>>1094752
It's appearances, comrade.
Also the market's flooded with college educated people thanks to EVERYONE SHOULD GO TO COLLEGE XDDDDDDDDD so they need anything to differentiate.

i live in Australia...when I go to the casino I notice 95% of high rollers are Asian/Chinese. It just got me thinking how do they come over here and become so rich? I thought Australia was an expensive country, and our money would be worth more than theirs, or is it the opposite and Australia is really cheap for them?
Crown flies them to Australia.
chinks are poor af.
You're literally meeting their 1%
Don't forget there's over a billion chinese alone, it only makes sense some be rich.
> I go to a casino.
Degenerate activity.
Hi all,
Starting my business plan next week. I am going to be starting my own Fabrication business after having worked as a Manufacturing Engineer for the last 4 years, the last year of which has been in complex fabricated parts for Aerospace (Combustion chambers).
I am going to be fabricating iron gates, fencing, balconies, railings etc as well as bespoke pieces as required by customers. All gates will be hand made for the customer and there will be approx 2million different combinations of possible gates alone (This is less individual items than you initially think, however, due to so many possible combinations of each it comes to quite an impressive number, I was even shocked myself) when also taking into account paint colours and the ability to do golden spearheads/scrolls etc.
My main target audience is obviously going to be upper-middle to upper class home owners and middle class home owners that spend way too much money on impressing their friends and passers by.
First of all, feel free to grill me or ask me tough questions to make me think about the idea more in depth.
Secondly, is this a business idea that can grow to a multi-million dollar business alone, or is it going to be a nice, steady earner but I will have to likely move eventually into other markets to expand past the typical "tradesman" earnings?
At first I will be working from my garage, initial start up costs for equipment are under £5k, after that just material costs. Eventually looking to move to a small unit and hire a young lad to train up to help with welding and fabrication aspects.
This is my first venture into my own business and I can't wait to get started!
>>1093800
>£
Shit... Burger here. I was going to ask about custom iron inlays, table legs, and other decorative stuff to put on my stuff.
>>1093800
marketing plan?
>>1093810
Yeah, Brit I'm afraid :(
Would happily do that sort of stuff though, bespoke goods will be the more fun stuff I get to soo, only so many bars I can weld and bend before I get sick to death of it!
>>1093814
Going round the local, nicer housing estates posting leaflets through doors, will set up a website where people can actually select hat they want n their gate for exmple and at the end it will render an image of what it will look like. Also have the option for people to not only order online but I can come round, measure up, show them the options and give input free of charge.
Newspaper ads and a decal on the side of the van with company logo, phone number and website details.
That's all at first. Then I will hope to get business through word of mouth and employing those same tactics above.
Likely will have a supply chain of other tradesmen for more complex jobs that I can't manufacture everything in house so will also rely on bringing business their way and them bringing business mine.
I have a well diversified portfolio of nearly 1m USD.
It's done very well considering big losses across the board. While everyone else seems to be down 10%+, i'm only down 4%.
However, i can't shake the feeling that i should pull all my money out because shit is going down hill rapidly.
Considering doing so next week, and stashing it away in lump sums of $250,000 with banks at 2.5% pa. until the market crashes, or i find an investment that i feel a bit more comfortable with.
Am i just being paranoid...?
If it makes you feel better, then just do it.
Worst case is you just have all of your money sitting in a bank account
Best case is the market crashes this year and you're golden
Also, FDIC is meaningless.
Buy some ETH
Personally yes I think you are being paranoid, depending on your time frame
If you are willing to hold for another decade don't worry about it.
If you need to withdraw at the end of the year then maybe reconsider.
Either way, why not hedge and do a little of both, take 500k and put it in cash or more secure investments, keep the rest in the market
Hello my fine friends of /biz/

Forgot to type 'small software firm/startup'
Are sales jobs memes or not? They seem that way. Kind of seems like really cuckolded work to suck peoples cocks and beg them to buy shit just for some commission.
Are they memays or do they have any actual value?
>>1095741
They're shit. It's just easy to get one since the base salary is really low.
>>1095756
t. Bull that needs cucks to work for him with no overhead
>>1095758
But what about all the "sales is da best" memes? People keep saying that shit even on this very board.
I do see how it is kind of a scam tho. If you're only getting paid entirely or close to it commission then they have no overhead desu. So you're pretty much just generating money for them for free. Seems shite
What is the real reason professors want students to visit real companies? They claim it is to help students meet up with companies to increase their future job prospects?
What is the real reason? Is it to steal ideas for research? Is it cause it is more interesting for them to read? What is the real reason?
The optimist in me says to ensure that's what students know what they're getting into and will continue to peruse.
The realist in me says you're absolutely right — to plagiarize.
Now get back to work and write essays so they can harvest more ideas.
>>1095685
It really is for the benefit of the students. To get them exposed to as much of their future work environment as early on as possible.
No researcher worth their salt gives a shit what companies do. Academic research is typically on a different level and type of doing things than practitioner research. (This comment does not apply to engineer in general).
is there anything low risk that will give me a constant return these days? i have 10k sitting idly in my bank and want to put them to use
>>1095632
bonds
Peer to peer lending
some oil stock pushed down to rock bottom by panicking speculators
make sure they didn't put too much into fracking
bill gates is worth 79.2B. what would he actually have in the bank? of money he could spend?
Not much.
Rich people take loans to spend money, using their assets as collateral to avoid taxes.

>Rich people take loans to spend money
What?
>>1095135
It used to be cheap. Now you can make profit taking a loan.
Hi, /biz/. I work a shitty minimum wage job for 48-60 hours a week (data-entry). I get a lot of free time during the first half of the 12 hour shift, so I am left to do whatever the fuck I want, and I'd rather use it productively.
I have decided to take up programming. Eventually I want to land a job that is at least above minimum wage for starters.
I know that I'll need to learn multiple languages etc.
What do I start from though? Which language (or combination) will land me a job in the shortest period? (note that I do not intend to stop learning there)
How long should I expect to be learning to land a job in the best case scenario? 6 months? 1-2 years?
This thread is also for discussing the general job market.
>it's a what programming language should I learn episode
seen it so many god damn times, pls kill yourself or at least lurk more
>>1094921
I didn't say which one I should learn, fag. Which one should I start with?
>>1094921
>lurk
>on a board where posts disappear every couple of days
>on a board where nobody should re-ask old questions
Anyway, OP should start with either VB6 or a simple website with PHP, JavaScript, or both. What you want is an environment where you can get a window or page up without fucking with a million little tools. This will allow you to gain a basic understanding of data types (integers, strings, etc), control structures (ifthen, loops, etc), and libraries with visual feedback (buttons, alertboxes, etc).
After you master that stuff, then you can move to more difficult subjects like databases, graphics, etc.
To me.
In ten days
>>1094595
What body part is that? I can't even tell. Are you morbidly obese?
I think that's a pigs hoof. He probably just put a shirt over the pig.
