I've read about a guy who's making some cash using exoclick. What he does is he sets up different websites (mostly porn) and then place exoclick ads on them. For each click he gets some cash.
He has over 70 websites and it gets him like 100$ each month. Considering that these are on free domains and he doesn't really have to do any maintenance it is a nice source of passive income.
I started doing this too, but people rarely click on my ads. Any ideas on how can I improve my ratio? People go on the sites and I have several ideas on how to advertise them for free, but it is all useless if they don't click on the ads.
Should I find a dumber target audience that is dumb enough to click on those ads? Should I place ads differently? Any advice would be welcome.

>70 websites
>100$/month
Does it seem like a profitable thing to you?
>>1096475
These are free domains and they need very little maintenance, so yes. It seems to be profitable.

If the domains AND the hosting are free, what's to stop him or you from making a thousand websites? Or a million?
Just dropping this here for anyone interested.
PBS's 1987 documenatry "Trader":
vimeo-com/60057485
In 1987 PBS released a documentary called 'Trader' featuring legendary hedge fund manager Paul Tudor Jones and his firm Tudor Investments.
But the film was never given a chance to catch on. PTJ hated it, and bought up almost all the copies of the film as soon as he could. Every now and again a copy surfaces online (like yesterday — it's already down) but the question generally remains — why did PTJ hate the movie so much?
At the time it was made, the market was shooting up but PTJ and his team were (correctly) calling a crash to come. In the film, they also show a lot of care for managing risk and taking care of their clients. There's even a look into the awesome charity work that PTJ does with kids in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn.
Some speculate that PTJ felt that his trading secrets were revealed in the documentary. Others suggest that he was embarrassed of how he looked while he was trading.
Regardless, there's never been an official answer to this question so there's always room for more theories as to why PTJ killed this documentary, here are some of ours.

>Some speculate that PTJ felt that his trading secrets were revealed in the documentary.
that hypothesis is lolworthy...
>Others suggest that he was embarrassed of how he looked while he was trading.
this seems much more likely
tis interesting to watch though, thanks for posting :)

Thanks for the link.
However, on his good predictions... he predicted the DOW to be under 500 in 1991. It was at 3000. He predicted the DOW to be at 3000 in 1986/1987 and it was at 2600

How much money can I make buying shit off of auctions and selling them for a higher price on EBay?
>>1095296
After taxes it will be a nice hobby but you will make 0 dollars sorry
>>1095296
None. I bought lots to quickly bulk up my inventory when I started my business. Four years later I still have half of it. eBay bidders are very poor right now.
I've bought a few mislabeled things and flipped them on eBay, but after fees and time invested, it's not worthwhile.
Best was a gun stock labeled as just an unknown and used camo stock for $30 buy it now.
Posted the pics on a forum to verify it was a McMillian, then bought it, found what it fit, and put it back up. Sold for around $120.
I caught it just as it was listed.
Easy $90, but factor in 2 hours of research, listing, shipping, plus countless hours to come across it, and the risk of something falling through ...
It's take a ton of work to be able to scale that to make real money.
Can we get a resume help thread?
Just got told by my boss I'm getting laid off for a full-time specialist :\
Here we go:
Also, I smoke weed occasionally to help me sleep, should I wait before I apply to jobs or just dive in and hope to pass a drug test if they give me one?
bamp
Drop the interests part, put the skills part above work experience (maybe consider dropping the "computer assembly" point, or at least moving it to the bottom of that section considering it isn't relevant), also use a resume template/layout to make it more presentable
Regarding the weed thing, they won't have you take a test until you have some sort of conditional offer

Really?
Those were all things a professor told me to put in >.>

>not having a wood-based economy
-renewable, albeit slow production (can't just "print" money)
-limited by growing space on planet Earth (limited supply)
-great incentive to reclaim land on Earth and terraform other planets to increase maximum supply (soft limit)
-wood can decay, which makes controlling the wood supply more difficult (no point in cutting down all trees and hoarding the world's supply)
-wood has innumerable actual uses which anyone of any socioeconomic class anywhere in the world can employ (other reasons to use wood rather than hoarding it)
It's basically everything you need for a commodity-backed currency.
I'm not sure you have a point
money is made out of paper which is made out of wood

How do i by dragon dildos with my wood?
What is majoring in economics with prelaw option like?
Sincerely, dumn ans curiouz anon

Major in law and do some economics instead. What use is having soccer shoes when you don't know the rules of the game.

That pic, jesus.
How about "give them a wage that allows them to save some money, give them health insurance so they don't get robbed when they have a fucking hernia, and don't charge their kids $100k if they want to get an education".
So everyone keeps saying that a career in finance requires social skills, but just how strict is this? I'm fairly introvert (aspbergers), but I'm good with people. During my bachelors I was active in a number of student associations, got elected to a bunch of things and was even president of two committees . I have zero problem talking in front of others, for instance, I´ve led a few hobby-courses. I've succesfully negotiated with people, led people, have zero problem taking over a conversation and act pretty extrovert in general.
Oh, and math isn't a problem.
Be honest, /biz/. How tough are the requirements?
Are you ugly?

I'll be the judge of that. Post pic.
I do not know if this is the right board to be asking this but this the only business board on 4chan.
I was recently let go from a decent job in the state of Oklahoma because of an attendance issue.
Story: I've been at this company for more than a year, get a long with everyone except for a coworker that is buddies with the production manager.
In the last year I've only missed 3 days of work, 2 of them which were due to being snowed in.
I scheduled 1 of my vacation days to cover a day I'd be out for a doctors appointment. I typo'd and added the 8th instead of the 2nd.
The next day I spoke to my supervisor and told them what I did.
Fast forward 2 weeks after that (yesterday) I was pulled into the office of my production manager and he had a person from HR there with him. He gave me a letter of termination which states I was being fired for the absence of that day.
What I'm asking you /biz/
1) Are they infringing on my workers rights for firing me for a honest typo? (I have receipts for my doctors visits)
2)Am I eligible for unemployment?
Thanks for reading, whatever advice/info you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
If your record was previously clean, IE no previous disciplinary actions, then visit a solicitor. It sounds like unfair dismissal to me.
However if your on a final written warning, you've probably not got a leg to stand on because a lot of companies consider unauthorised absense a disciplinary level action.
>>1096768
At will employment. They can fire you for any non-discriminatory reason, or for no reason at all.
Stop bitching, don't waste a lawyer's time or your money, file for unemployment, and grow the fuck up.
>>1096846
>>1096812
I'm a lawyer from Europe and that shit wouldn't fly here. I'd say you are at least due some sort of compensation for the sudden termination. I don't know what US federal and Oklahoma state statutes say though. I can't imagine them being this barbaric though and you best seek out an employment lawyer.
I run a fairly popular twitter account (100K+ followers) and I'm looking for the best way to make money through advertising revenue. There are many accounts out there who do URL promotion and get paid by other sites or those who those link to their own sites or articles or use Google AdSense. I have very little knowledge about any of this but I'm willing to learn.
how did you get that level of followers
are you using fake pics?

it seems like no one here knows anything about digital marketing. it's a space I'm curious about; just decided to actually go at tumblr via an alt-lit niche
Digital advertising is where it's at apparently. I'm not sure how hard it is to gain exposure through tumblr but if there is a space or forum online that specializes in digital as revenue as it pertains to social media I'm not aware of it. Most Google search results lead to stuff about small businesses and websites.
anyone still playing?
it's taking ages for me to sell anything
its taking me about half an hour to trade out of any position wtf is going on
what's /biz/ think about buying the cheapest, old, decrepit, low rise Apartments in great locations of cities....
These lower priced older apartments aren't as flashy as the new developments sprouting up everywhere, but they still hold land value, and in some areas the new developers are running out of land.
Betting on the building/land being bought out by a developer (5-15 years) once 80% of the strata want to sell out. (this is a Canadian rule anyway's)
I hear developers offer 150%-200% of assessed value to owners when buying out a strata.
The gamble is if the property becomes a money hole and needs repairs and maintenance... this is when i would suggest the owners sell out and approach developers, but im not sure if its so easy, lots of people get burned with this kinda thing.
what's biz think about buying old shit till it pays to sell out?
Is it better to buy 2 shitty old apartments in good locations and wait for a payout? Or a single higher valued more modern apartment in a really good location with no chance of buy out.
thoughts appreciated,
cheers

As you've said, it's a risk. But moreover, consider the pain of dealing with tenets. The worse the neighborhood, the worse the tenets. Get ready to deal with monthly trips to small claims court over eviction disputes and always expect to have to repair shit once they leave.
The fact is that many neighborhoods will be shitty for the rest of your life, and coupled with the above cost, I wouldn't risk it. If you can get in on the ground floor of a new gentrification scheme, then that's a different story, but you have to have laser precision with that sort of thing--being just two blocks from the nice part of town doesn't make it the nice part of town, after all.
The problem is niggers

What with all the ETH shill and standard "kissless virgin NEET here.." shit going on, let's talk small business/startups.
Self-employed trades, marketing/advertising, and related success stories.

I'm looking to start a handy man/painting "business" any tips?
How do you survive being a wageslave when obviously more talented then your colleagues but not getting any credit for it at all? I started as a lawyer at a big firm almost a year ago. After a year of working my ass off, still nobody gives a shit who I am and what I do just because I don't have a share in the power. I was planning to start my own firm anyway but this is ridiculous. I love the work but I hate my colleagues and superiors. It's like high school.
TL;DR I graduated cum laude to discover I obviously don't belong at a law firm.
Does anyone have any insights to make my life less miserable?
Where did you specialize, OP? Start a business and use your knowledge of the law to your advantage. Warren Buffett made it because he knew how to pull tricks legally and use law to his advantage.
That's why I didn't become a lawyer senpai
Not only is the market vicious, but your colleagues tend to be assholes
Start your own firm as a criminal defense lawyer
>>1095259
Tax and civil law. It has always been my dream to start for myself but I just don't understand why I just can't relate with my colleagues. I feel like an autist at work.
I know I'm no autist as I financed my law study with my own company and have many and very good friends. I'm like why tf do I fail at my career.
