Jobs that involve outdoor work. Hey /biz/ I'm not sure what to do with my life. I left a job I was at doing service engineering software consulting for 60k/yr including bonus 4 months ago. I hated it and only did it for the money. I have a B.S. In Comp Sci, but I'm realizing more and more that I don't really give a shit about that stuff. I can't stand the corporate fake life, where lying and doing your best to eat shit from others gets you ahead. I have about 22k left in my checking account, rent is about 1325 a month. I started applying for more things in my field, but it's souless.

My real passion is with the outdoors, nature, the environment, and science. The fucking problem is that I wish I had a different degree. Has anyone else been through this? I wish I got a degree in geology or biology or oceanography or some shit, which really interests me.

Any advice from people that have experienced this sudden career revelation after college? Is it possible to break into something else without a relevant degree for it? I feel pretty trapped right now. I live with my fiance that teaches part time at our college, but def doesn't make enough for the two of us.

Should I bother pitch in for a website this late, or should I just sell via craigslist/word of mouth?

I've seen one site pop up already that sells its bot services, and it's made a minimum of seven grand this month. I'm just not sure if the fad will keep up much longer.

They have a stated record of their number of accounts sold; even with the cheapest account being every purchase, they've sold enough to total about $7,000, excluding their farming/leveling services. It's true it could be a lie, but it's also a modest number.

Not when you're running a bot. Free money.

Hi /biz/,

I quit a job I was good at back in April to move cities. I wanted to check out other opportunities in the new market and quickly found and accepted a job in a different industry. I only stayed for 2.5 months because I hated everything about it (specifically, the people), and plan on returning to my old industry. I left the short-term job off my resume, so now there is a 4 month gap.

Question: When asked about the gap, should I lie and say I've been traveling, brushing up my skills, and waiting for the right position since moving, or should I be honest and say I worked in a different industry for a short period of time but realized the old work was a much better fit for me?

I can definitely say that there are a specific number of piano tuners in the entire world.

Is that your final answer? Remember that we'll be evaluating what you say here very closely.

Where do I start to begin a career in sales? I'm not talking about scummy, shady car salesmanship or related ilk. I mean building relationships, following leads, asking questions, and such.

What does a path in sales look like and where are some places for entry level training and experience?

Eventually I want to find what I'm passionate about and sell that even as an entrepreneur.

I'm currently searching for a way tho

So, I'm married to a woman I do not love anymore. In fact I cheat on her. But we also run a very succesful business together, so if I break up with her I'll end up unemployed on a country that is completely fucked up economically. Should I continue to be with her, and just see my marriage as buisiness? Or should I destroy our business so I can get some pussy without having guilt?

>>1412630
Why don't you love her anymore? You're a weak human.
>>
>>1412633

Actually I used to wrong word. I do love her.

But I'm bored of her. If you are with the same person for alot years, you grow bored of him / her. Especially sexually.

Anyway, what would a proper /biz/ness man doi?
>>
>>1412635
Keep your job. Save a nest egg. Once you feel like you have enough savings to live off of(6+ months), then you can make a decision on what you should do. Until then keep it in your pants. Its just sex. Grow the fuck up a little bit.

A young girl I know has a down-payment on a 1.2mil two-bedroom apartment in a top location. After this purchase she would be able to afford to live 10 years with her current lifestyle costs without working.

Alternatively she could find a one-bedroom apartment for half the cost, perhaps even less in an area further out. She would likely lose the down-payment on the initial apartment.

What do you think of these choices?
11 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
If she's just a young girl, the pricier home is risky. I work a good job and would never want the obligation of a huge mortgage. So go for the cheapest place for sure.

But, she shouldn't lose her down payment if she walks away from the deal. She could even save her earnest money if she plays it right.
>>
>>1412448
It wouldn't be a mortgage, it's a full-cash deal as far as I'm aware. I may well be wrong.
>>
>>1412450
So, if she has a down payment, it's a mortgage. But if it's an all-cash deal, that's even worse. The money will be all tied up in one piece of property, which is risky. I'm assuming by the insane price this is in either Canada or Aus. If so, they are ripe for a downturn.

And with her being young, that just compounds the risk.

She probably has no idea about the real value of her inheritance (I'm assuming it's an inheritance) so to her it's probably no big deal, which is dangerous. They also don't even know where they'll want to be living, so a year from now, they could be selling, which means losses on commission, negotiations, more risk. They probably don't know much about real estate, either, so there's countless smaller things that could be problems there.

In ten years, she'd be lucky to not be flat broke, honestly. I've seen it happen.

It's best to put the money away in an index fund, forget about it completely for 10-15 years, rent somwhere for awhile, live her life and discover her direction, what she wants to do, where she wants to live, etc. Then, when she's established, take over the management of her nest egg and figure out what to do then.

Daily reminder that the best way to make real money in the stock/bond market is by investing other people's money and most people who work at investment/fund management firms don't even invest their own money (except in 401ks and IRAs)

All good and well, but unless you're incorporated or ready to fuck over individual people trusting you this is useless advice.

That being said; incorporating and getting sizeable loans to play with might be a very profitable and risk-free venture. Just gotta find someone stupid enough to lend you some big bux without personal risk to you.

How do I not become a wagecuck?

I absolutely hate working for someone, I despise authority, I can't stand being in someone elses control and at their mercy.
