Just got kicked out of community college.
What do?
>>1661491
What'd you do?
Given the opportunity to start over.... GUN TO YOUR HEAD, IF YOU HAD TO LEAVE THE HOUSE ALL DAY, EVERY DAY, WHERE WOULD YOU GO AND WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
>>1661510
Low grades. Brain is fried, can't concentrate.
I'm an international student so probably will have to go back to my country while the rest of my family is here. Still haven't told them. How to get back into college? :(
Time to get a job and make it on your own.
>So /biz/ now that we are at the end of 2016, how close are you to fulfill your dreams?
Did you start your 2017 vision board yet?
Shit, those are pretty good idea come to think of it.
I didn't do one for 2016, I thought it was pretty gay.
>>1661475
the fuck is a vision board?

Does anyone remember the name of that book that like "how to win friends and influence people" but for sociopaths?
It's like the 10 rules of crushing your business rivals or something.
It included tips like making other people look bad, shirking blame, gas lighting, etc.

Is it just me or does everyone in the UK earn the same salary? - more or less.
When you see US posters they talk about earning $100k out of college. Minimum wage as less than $20,000. $90k, $150k, and so on.
Whereas UK salaries are all more or less the same - around £30k.
Sure, you get people earning various salaries between £20k and £40k - but rarely much more or less.
Obviously I'm talking about salaries - I'm not talking about business owners, etc. who can earn anything from £0 to £infinite per year.
As an example, I know a bunch of people working in big 4 (between 3 and 5 years experince). They all make around £32k. It's an above average salary, sure. But it's in the same BALL PARK as pretty much every other job going.
I've had 3 completely different jobs since leaving university - programmer, marketing exec, and teacher. The salaries were £25k, £26k and £23k - i.e. exactly the same more or less.
It feels like there is no opportunity to move up or down - especially in the South. I'd never be able to afford a house on those kinds of salaries. Most houses are way more than 10x gross salary and rising much faster than wages.
Should I just move to the US and try to make it work over there?
>>1661426
What's it like working as a marketing exec? How did you get it?
>>1661436
I did that job for about a year at a marketing agency. I quit because the owner was a bellend and autistic about bureaucracy - following procedures and recording time were far more important than anything else.
That aside, it was a brilliant job - for the sole reason of what I learned. I got paid to learn SEO, PPC, web design, conversion optimisation, all that stuff. Now I use those skills to build my own e-commerce stores. There are so many businesses out there selling the same stuff. The only thing that differentiates them is their marketing.
Marketing+accounting IS business, in my view.
As for how I got the job, same as any other: I applied to an ad. I have a decent arts degree (fuck off STEM autists) and was able to bullshit about how these skills would transfer to marketing.
My salary capped out at 27k, starting was 20k. Offshore engineering.
My immediate boss (the CEO) paid himself 500k/yr plus dividends.
I think the only way to make it in the UK is to start a business of your own, the labor pool is too cucked here to make employers bother with being competetive.

They invest your unsettled funds after a trade. It's also pretty basic shit.
> When is it coming to my country?
Never. They only have "plans" on an Australian beta.
> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet? You have a foot fetish dude
If it takes more than 3 days, email their support. They are very good.
> Is this the place to pump and dump and/or shill a worthless stock?
NO! THIS IS 4CHAN, A PLACE OF POLITENESS AND PROFESSIONALISM!!!
> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, am I being jewed?
No, that would actually be illegal. Robinhood graphs are just shit and only show you an average, not-really-realtime price. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform. -- (also learn difference between LIMIT and MARKET orders!!!)
> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
thinkorswim is bretty gud if you want a 2nd account with real broker.
Otherwise you should be using stockcharts.com, finviz, or a non-pile-of-shit for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.

Why are homes so over valued to the point that the average family cannot afford to buy one anymore (new buyers)?
Is this the era of rent-slaving?

Canadian dream "is over" for next-gen says Fortress exec
>Writing for the Huffington Post, he calculates that if the pace of price growth continues over the next 30 years, today’s children will be facing a price tag for a single-family home of $11.5 million in Toronto and $45 million in Vancouver!

Not third-world US
Lets say, hypothetically, I live in the US and I won a decent amount of money (mid five figures in USD) gambling online using bitcoin. If I were to transfer this money into a bank account, I'm sure it would somehow get the attention of the IRS, right? What are my options? If I declare it as income and pay taxes, will they leave me alone, or will they want to know more about where the money came from? From what I'm reading, bitcoin gambling isn't explicitly illegal in the US, but it is definitely a gray area.
yah...
IRS just wants you to pay 'some' taxes.
I'm not an accountant, but if you don't receive a 1099 like you would from stock brokerage, then just pick a date with high buy price, and a low sell price... PAY SOME TAXes, but no one remembers the exact price you bought your jew gold at.
Americans have to pay taxes on gambling earnings? Lol what
I pitched my idea to 100 investors and 5 of them want to hear more. How do I make sure to lock one down?
>>1661007
Is it an idea or are you already conducting it?
>>1661017
nope it is a business plan
suck their dicks
>be me
>investopedia, trading firms, investment journalists all recommend using stop losses on every trade as a "risk management" measure
>I set up a stop loss on this trade
>stop loss get triggered by a few points in
>"ah well, should have been expected, I'll just take baby steps then...", says me.
>then the price immediately proceeds in the direction which would have otherwise made me a handsome profit without the stop loss
>FML.jpg
>decide to not set a stop loss for the next trade
>the trade goes into profit a few fractions of a percentage point
>a flash crash suddenly happens
>WTF.jpg
>account down by -$987
>completely blown the fuck out
>get a margin call from broker
>I don't have enough money to meet the margin call until 2 weeks later when I get paid
>my account gets suspended
>credit rating drops in score
Use stop losses they said.
Don't use stop losses they said.

The mistake you made was trading high volatility stocks with money that wasn't yours you fucking retard.
I hope you end up in a cardboard box.
You learn by trading live and tuition ain't cheap.
>gambling with money that isn't yours
I can just imagine the type of retard you are. Sitting there saying lol how hard can this be you just buy it low and only sell if you make money! I'll just borrow money and use that!
How do you profit from your hobbies, or which hobbies do you profit from?
I realised I was spending too much time watching movies and playing video games so I turned them both into review blogs and make a few bucks a week from the advertising.
I review products on amazon and get about 4-5 free packages through the door every week which I give away as gifts or sell.
Every so often I'll make a website over the course of a weekend or few weeks and sell it or spend some time and effort til it makes advertising income.
i used to sign up for college courses, and get paid for it... I stopped going to college after they stopped paying me FASFA, and started charging me money...
>>1660883
Don't know.
Can't make money.
Gonna try blacksmithing and make it fund itself or just fucking give up on life.

Anyone here read Principles by Ray Dalio? (Founder and Co-CIO of Bridgewater)
Some parts I like - especially where he talks about 'pain' being a great feedback for things you can improve on, but I can't shake off the feeling that it's just like any other self-help book.
>>1660854
Haven't read it but I will now. Thanks for the heads up. I really enjoyed his economic machine video and the pdfs that go with it. Really informative.
I guess it might be like any other self help book except Dalio is actually a really smart and accomplished guy that has also proven himself (to me) a good communicator. Nothing wrong with high quality self help.
>>1660858
About halfway through it's a confronting read unlike most self-help books, that's probably the only reason I haven't given up on it.
Yeah I liked that video too, it put together a lot of fragmented reading and knowledge I had into a coherant form.
That's what I like so much about the Guy: he seems to be very good at simplifying the world, he has almost a physicist's view of the world. Like when Bridgewater predicted the Eurozeone debt crises by working out how much debt would need to be refinanced and when and examined all the potential buyers and their ability to buy that debt: Like its all just a giant scale-balance to him. Sort of like when Astrophysicists discovered Dark Matter.
Everything has a precedent for him too, it's really interesting, I admire a guy who is so able to simplify the world into solid and predictable models: and clearly it works for him.
>Not to mention his approach to creating theories and stress testing them through debate, reminds me a lot of our old friend Soros's mentor: Karl Popper.
>>1660913
Yeah he is absolutely legit. Love how he just buys principles.com and makes this super slick site with extremely helpful free information. Same with economicprinciples.org

>when your UWTI shares turn into UWTIF
>when you aboutta ride to da moon
What do you mean? I thought UWTI was being delisted (ceasing to exist) so I sold it all.
Wtf is about to happen?
>>1661528
delisted from the major exchange it was being traded on. they also suspended creation of new shares. the second sentence means that the current shares will be traded OTC
