If used for electronics or parts, it's quite beneficial because of its properties. However, it's mostly used as an ornament so it's absolutely useless aside from showing other people you can afford to pay for colored metal.

If we're talking about investing, it's extremely inefficient. Pointless, really. If we're talking about keeping it as currency or something, then it's probably beneficial. It's certainly more powerful than something like paper money because it's a real thing that is limited on the planet. Paper money is meaningless because you can just make more whenever you get bored. The value is all in your head. The value in gold is real because no one can bullshit you. It's a real thing and it's a precious thing since it's rare.

It's still shit.

Anyone trade on the futures mkts here. I lurk on /Pol/ and ended up here. Those guys win elections and call in airstrikes vs ISIS. I was thinking why isn't biz running shit?

Anyone in the Machine learning /QUANT side?

I am part of a machine learning startup. Algos give us daily price targets for products. We trade to our price target.
Here are tomorrow's targets

S&P 2251 esz6
NASDAQ 4822 NQZ6

GAS NGF7 3.74

I bought 3.605 3 units
Sold NASDAQ 4852 1 unit
Bought ES 2239 1x

Equities are spread, they moved lockstep today but model has wanted a divergence between the two since monday. The gas number we are fairly confident in,hence the weighting.

We need the Rainman of /pol/ here making $$$.

I'm currently first year police officer and enrolled in the army reserves.

In the police service I work for, officers make $104k after 5 years of service. If I attempt to go for a promotion (Sergeant), they start around $110k. Hypothetically going up the rank scale will give you a bigger paycheck. But at the same time, the more you make, the more taxed you get. Plus, the higher you go in the police force the more admin/politics you get into.

Essentially what I'm saying is, I'll only be making $100k from policing (not interested in going past Sergeant) and 5k from army duties.

My question is how do I potentially make 45-50k in my field? And overall, how hard is it to earn a solid 150k (after taxes) in today's society?

How about giving 500 blowjobs at $10 a pop? This would mean sucking around 72 dicks per day (10 more if you want a day off). That's just over 4 loads in your mouth per hour assuming you want 8 hours of good sleep.

So here's the game plan: figure if you get a solid set of knee pads, you can probably suck down around 5 cum shots per hour even if you're not good at it. At that rate, you're netting an extra $8 per day of work. At the end of that first week, you take your extra money and reinvest into your company; buy some lipstick, maybe some blush or high heels.

Now with your newfound skills and efficiency, you should be able to clear at least 8 or 9 cumshots per hour which would bump up your profit margin by over 75%.

After the first few months you can either scale back the amount of cocks you suck or really ramp it up and maybe retire early.

There's all of these internet gurus that claim you can make a decent mostly passive income on the internet.

All of their claims seem suspect to me. Mainly because they site themselves as evidence of how possible it is.

But since all of their income streams seen to center around internet traffic and niche interests it seems like large part of their success has to be luck, or "going viral" and getting a bunch of free exposure.

kind of like as if OkGo told you could have a successful band of you make a you tube channel.

Am I to cynical Is there truth to what they are suggesting?

Or what do legitimate passive income streams actually look like?
133 posts and 12 images submitted.
>>
I've got a good amount of passive income, all of it comes from professionally managed real estate.

I'm not going to pretend to know the business of internet marketing, but I'm a programmer so I know something about software and the internet in general.

I think you're right to be sceptical. Internet based things tend to stop working without maintenance because of changes to services, data feeds, and available content. So I can't imagine an internet income stream being reliable year over year without babysitting.
>>
Populist business literature is basically just a fancy version of motivational seminars, lots of fluff and no substance, stay away from it.
>>
>Or what do legitimate passive income streams actually look like?
they don't exist. *someone* has to put in real work.

if you make money on the financial markets you need to keep track of your investments, watch the markets and react quickly.
if you receive royalties or ad revenue it's just the long-tail of your hard work from the past.
if you rent out you need to manage the building and your tenants.
even if you're just an owner of a business you need to care for it, find the right management, check their books, file your taxes, etc.

the closest you can come to truly passive income is if you are so obscenely rich on inherited wealth that the profits pay for private banking or asset management. sure, now you're getting "free" money with zero effort. but this is not viable for most people and you're still leeching off of other peoples' work (whoever built the fortune in the first place and whoever manages it now).

"passive income" is a buzzword. it's bullshit. "passive" incomes still require work, but it's different (and often less) work than classic wageslavery. that's all there is to it.

Which countries are in a recession right now?

I want to find country ETFs on sale.
Right now all I have in mind are Brazil and Russia.

I was wondering what the best long/short position you can acquire to take advantage of the coming collapse of the college meme?
Fyi i went to princeton and the only thing i learned is that i had a 140 iq before college, i had a 140 iq after college, and college is basically like a version of wikipedia whete you pay 10 dollars for every sentence you read. Its a joke. Its a scam. Its a meme. General intelligence is 80 percent genetic, 20 percent studying math from age 10-16. Thats it.

Are there any major public firms that make textbook? Maybe short their stock... with the internet it's just a matter of time now before there is a full revolt against spending $1000+ a semester on fucking textbooks. My capstone class's textbook was almost $500 alone. Such a scam, man.
>>
>>1661734
I agree it was a joke. Thankfully my pops paid for everything, so I'm not in any debt. But i will say that college was a good place to network and make acquaintances. But overall I'd recommend it if you really know what you want to do. Like I'm talking dead set on something. Like criminal justice or medicine.
>>
>>1661734
You clearly didn't go to college if you think it will raise your iq. You don't go to college to before more intelligent. You are clearly a retard.

Hi not sure if this is the correct board but i'm looking for advice with a change my employer made recently.

The company previously had a monthly pay system in place where we would get paid for a month of work on the 7th of each month, this covered the first to the last day of the month and allowed one week for processing, the change they have made now allows them to pay us on every second friday however this doesn't cover a 2 full weeks of work it instead covers the last 2 days of 1 week a full week and then a 5 day period, this coupled with our regulated 2 days off means it's possible for us to lose 4 working days wages. and surprisingly 6 days in a month leaving us short paid

We are a call center so the majority of us are on a salary of £13500 - £16000, management are failing to grasp how badly this is hitting us as they obviously have the extra money to cover this gap.

Thanks in advance and if this is the wrong board can you guys point me the right way?

>>
what?

payday is every other week and it covers a period of 2+7+5=14 days. that aligns, so what are you talking about? maybe make an example?
>>
Yeah, though we work 5 days a week and our 2 days off can vary, so if we work the 5 days before the first 2 and our 2 days off fall within the last 5 days we have 6 days off during a pay fortnight, while we still get paid for the amount we work in the period it leaves us with a shorter pay packet in some months and admittedly a larger in others
>>
>>1661745
>we still get paid for the amount we work
>shorter pay packet in some months and admittedly a larger in others
what you need to do is stop living paycheck to paycheck. keep a month's worth of living expenses in your checking account and this will no longer be a problem for you.

Hi Anons,

After doing so, is there any other suggestions?

What you need to understand is the "mad gainz" you're seeing on here can be attributed to luck. Not to mention losers are much less likely to post screen caps.

Stock investing is an all or none endeavor. Either be an elite day trader or go with passive indexing. Those in the middle don't have very good odds at all.

>b-but loook at these gains from the latest meme stock

You got lucky and don't understand probability or risk. Period.

It's ok to play around with trading but if it a hobby, don't delude yourself into thinking otherwise.

Suck 100.000 cocks for $10 a pop

You can accomplish it in 3 years if you suck 91 cocks a day.

Just put up advertisements and do 9 bukkake sessions per day.

>Currently finishing up MS in Economics ( free bc I wasn't a degenerate NEET in highschool/undergrad)
>considering joining the marines through an OSO (officer that recruits new officers)

I think serving in the military as an officer would be one of the biggest resumé boosters on the fucking planet, not to mention having my housing/food/etc. covered for those 5 years, on top of the veteran gibsmedats like cheap as shit healthcare, gov. subsidized retirement fund, etc.

Any reason that I shouldn't economically speaking? I'm already up to the fitness standards required, and my degress make me a great qualifier for Officer Candidacy School.

Only argument I really see is work experience during those five years, but I'll be gaining the boost from saying I was an officer right?

i make 'enough' money on the side that i'm saving up for later
should i bother with stocks?
if so,where do i start?
