My 3 year old 20lb Boston terrier is sick. Won't eat, only puked up grass yesterday morning after I let him outside. Bloody diarrhea today and acting very lethargic. He has drank a little water. He even turns his head away from fresh chicken. I am worried. Does anyone know whats bothering him?

I noticed this on my ferret the other day. Washed it off with water and made sure the bleeding stopped. It seems to be healing normally. I noticed it after a long play session. I sent the picture to the owner of the nearby ferret shelter and she said it was probably from them playing together and it happens sometimes when they're rough. Should I start seperating them during play time? They seem to get along fine.

No, you retard.

I know it's THE meme dog, but I'd really like a Shiba. But, I've heard they're not easy for inexperienced owners. I am not an experienced dog trainer, but I've lived with dogs for the past 10 years.

The positive thing is that my aunt is a trainer, and has offered to train for me, and my roommate is pretty well versed in training, even though he's never done it professionally. Will a dog totally disrespect me if someone else trains it with me around?

Shibas are cats in the body of a dog. If that's what you want, then that will be what you get. If that's what you don't want just get a different dog, there's really no reason to get a dog you know is going to be hard to train.
>>
I don't understand why you'd want one in the first place. The only positive trait about them is that they're cute

Spent an hour trying to revive the guy. The mother abandoned him due to him being a runt, and just wouldn't help him. Stopped moving so I grabbed him and starting trying to rub him and warm him up. It worked for a bit, but he finally gave out.
It was really hard for me, cause I love runts, and usually adopt them, and just having to nurse him myself for an hour. Eh, just life I suppose

I was walking my dog and found this egg on the ground in the Bay Area, California. It couldn't have been on the ground more than an hour. Anyone know what kind of an egg it is? I'd assume different species have different temperatures they need, so I'm trying to find the right temp to incubate.

I'm finally now feeling that I should have an animal to keep me company here in this suburb that i'm now living in aside from my plants, but it would have to be something completely fine with being confined to a very small space. I've thought in the past of having some kind of grasshoppers or similar orthoptera as pets to keep and breed within this old fish tank I have, what do you guys think about this? They wouldn't be able to be outside of the room in which I sleep in, so I guess they'd be loud as everloving fuck while i'm trying to sleep? Are there other types of relatively easily obtainable, moderately sized insects that are quiet as well as being fine with being cooped up into a tiny box? Are there quiet types of grasshopper/orthoptera?

I'm now thinking centipedes sound pretty cool, also I forgot to include that the dimensions of the box are 11.5 inches wide by 7.5 inches wide by 10 inches tall

Hi /an/, please help me keep my pupper cool. I live in South Carolina where the temperatures are in the triple digits and our a/c has stopped working. Even at night, it is literally 90 fucking degrees in my apartment right now. I'm concerned about keeping my pup cool, because she keeps panting and her fur is very thick and long. I've put her in a wet t shirt, pic related, which helped some. And I'm making sure that she has plenty of water. What else can I do to keep my girl cool? There is nowhere with ac that we can go, and it will be a few days before maintenance can get to us.

Maybe try a cooling mat? I don't know too much about them but it might be worth checking out
>>
Go get your pup some thick shades as well as a cigarette and a beer. And a cap too. Coolest pup ever.

For real just try to keep her inside and in some place preserved from harsh sunlight. Do you have a basement or something ?
>>
>>2163527

Try giving her ice cubes, make sure she keeps hydrated and keep her inside.

Could anyone tell me how far my 4 month old jack russel puppy can run?

I recently started jogging with him for short distances, 1-3 km or walking/sprinting intervals

This weekend I took him out 'running' with my bike, going rather slowly though, and was gona stop when he started panting. However, he never began to show any signs of tiredness, never panting, resisting or anything else, and I ended up stopping after 20 km

Then I googled how far he should run and I saw that puppies shouldnt be running anything close to these distances, not because of tiredness but rather because its bad for their growth

However, I cant seem to find any estimates on what is a suitable distance for him to run

tl;dr I would like advice/estimates on how far a jack russel puppy can run for ages 4-20 months

>>
A FOUR MONTH OLD PUPPY SHOULD NOT BE GOING FOR RUNS OR JOGS. A DOG'S GROWTH PLATES NEED TO BE CLOSED BEFORE THEY GO RUNNING OR YOU RISK CAUSING YOUR DOG PERMANENT DAMAGE. THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION IS ZERO MILES

Talk to your vet. 8 months of age is the general rule of thumb, but they will be able to tell you for sure. Seriously do NOT take a puppy that little for jogs.
>>
I see, thank you for your reply

Are there any limits on walking distances?
>>
>>2166171
Very light if you want to be careful. 15 to 20 minutes a day or so, twice a day? No real hard answer beyond be careful. Low/lower impact exercises won't be as harmful though. Just wait until the dog is done growing before serious and sternious exercise.

Once your vet says he is good, then build him up slowly. Lots of dogs will push themselves really hard to please you and can hurt themselves on a run. Take it easy and just build up.
