So, where do axolotl conversations go? I see where they can fit in Aquarium general threads, but I can also see them going in Reptile/Amphibian threads.

Aren't they basically salamanders?
>>
>>2174743
They are purely aquatic so I think they are better off in the aquarium threads.
>>
>>2174743
Salamanders are amphibians, so they would fall under any general herpetological thread

Yeah, as if you don't need to deal with annoying pet owners when you work as a vet. Really I don't see how these two jobs are different.

Because shut up. Don't you have some hunting to do?

What kind of duck is this?

It was about the size of a mallard, or perhaps slightly smaller. Some birds had a very clearly defined white spot on the chest, while on others (like this one) it was a bit speckled.

Seen in southern Sweden.

That's not a duck, OP, that's a Canadian goose. They're much bigger than mallards as you can see by the size compared to that duck in the foreground.

Hey /an/
I'm not sure if the last thing I posted actually went through because of the shitty app I'm using on my phone.
Friendly visit from a /k/ommando. I need /an/'s help in deciding the best battle buddy for me.

Preferences include:
- ability to stay off leash in wooded areas and respond to commands well, not chasing after everything it sees
- doesn't require exercise every single day.
- doesn't bark a huge amount unless there's something that it should bark a lot at. For instance a home intruder
- does require a large expanse of land to run around in on a daily basis.
- not a puffball
- sheds as little as possible

I've lived with dogs all my life and love them lots. I bow to /an/'s Superior dog knowledge.

Whippets are a great breed. I love my one to pieces and it seems to fit your needs quite well, although they can be a bit arrogant and single minded.

I have 500mg amoxicillin, and a cat with a urinary tract infection.

I'm going to break down the pills and put it in food, I'd also like to medicate my other two cats(eye discharge) simultaneously.

Anyone got advice on the dosage for this stuff?

Thought it would be the little balls. Oh well. If coke heads can do this, so can I. I'll order a micrograms scale tomorrow morning.

Looks like I should be giving 90 mg or less for each carry every 12 hours.

Abnormally high doses can cause life threatening complications, but I can't find anywhere that says the dangerous dosage. I know they give human infants 1000mg fur sinus infections, so the dangerous dosage can't be THAT low?
>>
>>2183253
oh my god I remember those plates.

you need to weigh all three cats. weigh yourself, weigh yourself holding cat, subtract your weight. give 5-10mg/lb 2x daily for 7-10 days. DON'T MISS A DOSE!

Are you sure your other two cats are sick? Be careful with antibiotics- overusing them will make it harder to treat your cats in the future.
>>
>>2183280
Yeah, they have a communicable infection causing extreme eye discharge. It started with one of the cats I always had when I got a new one with the infection.

I'm not really worried about the bacterially resistant infections 'cause I have inside only cats. The UTI has been going on for way too long(enough to make me feel neglectful) and happened when my ex wife was taking care of the litterboxes, and the eye discharge was introduced through a new kitten.

I found a website that said an alternate dosage was 50mg/cat.

I understand this is flatly less precise, but it implies that if I underdose her by 10-20mg it won't keep it from working? And, similarly, that giving her 10-20mg too much isn't dangerous?

Can you cut off their ears with scissors and dry out the meat for jerky, and then their ears will grow back, and it'll be a constant supply of fresh meat?

I think I just created super bedbugs.

There have been bedbugs in my house since 2011, when I first tried to fix the problem, I bought some spray to kill them and their eggs. It worked, I even direct sprayed them to see if it would kill them and it did. ℅100 of the time. A year later they grew back in size, so I tried the spray again. This time......it didn't even kill one, I direct sprayed just to see what happened. So I bought an even more expensive spray. Same story, they were gone got a year and then they come in full force and that spray doesn't work. So I tried to do the fuming thing from pest control, it worked just like the first 2....for a year then they would come back stronger and immune to what killed them last year. OK, I was freaking out, so I combined the first 3 and added even more sprays to the mix. The population decreased significantly, but after 2 years, they came back, immune to every spray I throw at them, o must've bought every brand. So I was reading and found out about really hot temps could kill them, and I should just use steam cleaner. So, I decided to buy an expensive steam cleaner to kill them and to put infected stuff that could fit in the dryer and set the dryer to 2 hours. I was confident this would work, it has been working all this time, no bedbugs can resist. Until.....

I've had a feeling the bed bugs were coming back last week and the dryer and steam cleaner is getting less effective.

To test this, earlier this afternoon,i put a pillow cover with a few bedbugs into the dryer, set for 2 hours. Now, I check my pillow case after I take it out. I poke the bedbugs.... they're FUCKING MOVING.
I think I created an unstoppable bedbug mutation in my house.

Ok so I tried this thread on /out/ and haven't had much luck there yet so I figured Id try here too. I don't frequent either board. I bought these cacti about 4 months ago and I need help identifying what they are. I think they could be a trichocereus/echinopsis species but I'm not sure. Any cactiphiles here that could help or scoot me in the right direction.

Look at this cool caterpillar i found :D
How long will it be until it's a pupae?
10 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>2182203
Looks like a Buff-tip moth or Phalera bucephala. If I'm not mistaken they usually pupate at around winter time.
>>
>>2182222
Does that mean it's gonna keep being a caterpillar until then or will it just die before it can pupae? :(
>>
>>2182235
It think it'll just be a caterpillar until then
