I found a few A. bruennichi in a small meadow that will be mowed down in a few days

I don't want these spiders to die before producing their egg cocoon

So can I just relocate them to my garden?
If so, how?

pic is one of the spiders

I guess you could just take them to your garden, if it contains a meadow, which is their chosen habitat. Having a lot of grasshoppers helps, they love devouring them.

I used to exterminate them with a gasburner because I dislike them.
>>
take them at least 1km away and make sure the new meadow fits their needs. Anyway, if there's not an existing population at the new meadow as well, chances are low they will produce sacs as males are not yet ready.

I'm pretty sure I could take down an eagle too as long as it was out of its element, he could get really high and descend with amazing speed upon me, he may aim to rip away my eyes first but with enough reflexes I could grab it and break it's wings. Once he can no longer fly he would be amine to quickly reduce him

Nigga, a wing flap from an eagle can knowk you down, some eagles have gripping strenght greater than a wolf's bite.

>sitting on my porch
>See a robin three or four feet away from me
>It isn't moving, just seemingly frozen in place
>"Hey buddy what's going on"
>Go to get up
>Suddenly dark blur and an explosion of feathers
>Peregrine falcon out of fucking no where
>Stare at each other for a bit and it flies off, leaving a trail of feathers in its wake

It happened so fast I just froze because I had no idea what the hell just happened. It was cool as fuck though and I feel kinda honored to see it so close. I remember reading something about them being the fastest sky divers. When I did realize what was going on my first instinct was to try and grab it for some retarded reason. I didn't, of course.

Holy fuck that sounds awesome, but also sad for the robin. We have a sharp-shinned hawk that visits our backyard, so far she's only gotten sparrows and finches but I've seen her go after the blue jays and I'm dreading the day I find a pile of blue and gray feathers. Still though I'd gladly let one go if a Peregrine falcon took it out in front of me.
>>

It was sad and cool. I don't like robins myself, or even the giant flocks of sparrows at bird feeders since I recently moved to an idea that just doesn't have many different kinds of birds. I'm so used to seeing so many different kinds but it's 99% sparrows and starlings, with the occasional crow here. I'm in NH right now but I used to also see barn owls, great horned owls, turkey vultures, black vultures, ospreys(up close since they nested behind my house), golden eagles, bald eagles, coppers hawks and red tail hawks(they used to sit in the trees and watch our rabbits). Never saw a peregrine falcon and I heard an owl once in the 3 years ive lived here so this was pretty exciting.

And it was a literal explosion of feathers. As soon as the falcon hit it, the Robin just exploded. Didn't get pictures of the falcon but I did get pics of the ridiculous amount of feathers on my yard. I just can't find them. I don't get how it exploded like that.

A couple weeks ago at a park I was walking and something burst through the trees being chased by like five crows. I couldn't see what it was, but it was bigger than the crows from the blurred impression I got.

I found this little thing in my balcony this morning. I think it's either a baby dove or baby pigeon, but I'm not entirely sure. It doesn't seem to be able to fly and there are no trees that reach so high where my apartment is, so I'm not sure how it ended up here, I don't know much about birds. I'm guessing its home must be somewhere around here, above my balcony somehow, but I don't see anything, and I would notice if birds made a nest on my balcony because of the chirping.
When I found it it was sleeping, I thought it was dead at first but when I got close it opened its eyes then went back to sleep. 8 hours have passed since then, it keeps crying over and over without stopping for a second, jumping all around my balcony.
I don't know what to do, if I should try to feed it myself, if I should put it somewhere high so other birds notice it (lots of birds have been flying here lately, but even if it cries they just come for a few seconds then fly away), if there is nothing I should do and just pray for the best, I don't know. Just want it not to die, maybe it's not even really in danger, but better safe than sorry.

It's neither a dove or pidgeon, im not sure exactly but it almost looks like a fledging finch to me. Being a fledging, this is perfectly normal for them. Their parents bring them food, and the fledgling will eventually learn to fly on it's own. Just make sure to keep and cats or dogs away from it and it should be fine.
>>
>>2180612
Are you sure? I'm glad to hear that then, it's been so long since it fell down here, I can see it trying to fly but it fails. It keeps crying and crying but no bird came to it in the past 10 hours. I'm scared it might be not easy for the parents to see since it's pretty far down. Right now another bird came and rested right on top of it crying a bit, but then it just flew away, this keeps happening, maybe they can't find it.
Should I put it somewhere higher? It's even hiding behind some boxes right now since I went to get something outside and it got scared.
>>
Alright I'm very sure that the bird that came right now had something in its beak, but then just flew away.
Do these kind of birds have trouble looking down or understanding where exactly a sound comes from?

How the fuck is it legal to put birds in cages for life?
73 posts and 8 images submitted.
>>
Always kinda wondered this myself. It seems really cruel to take away a bird's flight. It's like condemning someone to use a wheelchair for life when they don't need it. It's especially bad when you consider how intelligent birds are and how they can feel depression.
>>
>>2179729
Some neighbours moved and they have 2 on a single cage, one is doing circles all day.

Can't you take them off for a while and let them fly? If you put food next to the cage wouldn't they come back to eat? Otherwise I would never own birds.
>>
that's kinda gunna happen no matter what pet you have. to be able to keep a pet both yours and safe, you have to imprison them.

if you don't, they get loose, get hurt, don't come back, or something else bad happens to them.

you have to ask yourself: is their freedom worth less than their safety and your want to have them?

Only this one.

I tried taking a video of me feeding him but sadly my phone didnt start recording.

He was getting close enough that I probably could have fed him from my hand, but his beak looked fuckin sharp so I didn't want to risk losing something. I just tossed the shrimp down next to me and he would snatch them
