Nope. There are so many qualified Asians that apply for US universities that it's the hardest for them to get in.

I remember my college counselor specifically telling me not to put "prefer not to state" for race in my applications because they would assume I'm Asian.

You're studying civil engineering in Portugal, but you don't specify what interests you in the US academic world. I forgot to mention that civ eng is not that interesting to me anymore, I'm on the second year of my five year masters and it's painful.
