This was a game I tried to complete but had no luck, given how cryptic the entire thing was. I've seen videos on it where it's been cleared, but from what i can tell, you can't complete it unless you either cheat, or trial & error the whole thing.
>>4106609
That was the standard for puzzle games of the era, as much as people complain about quest markers nowadays, things used to be a lot worse. Also git gud or something.
>>4106609
>Guys I just watched an AVN
HURR IF YOU DON'T LIKE RETRO GAMES WHAT ARE YOU EVEN DOING HERE COUGH COUGH LEAVE.
Obligatory post.
If you bingo'd, you can consider yourself good at retro games.
>>4105770
Do shmups and FPSes both classify under "Shooter"?
>>4105801
Either, as long as you get good KDR or times in FPS or good scores in shmups.
Redpill me on the Survival/ Stranded Kids series? Any good? Does it hold up?
>>4105045
It's good, but during your first hour of gameplay you will die many times of thirst, starvation, poisoning or mauled by wild animals.
Also, there's a lot of junk itmels you can craft that do nothing but take valuable inventory space so use your common sense and get rid of them asap. (The jumping rope seems useful, it actually isn't.)
I never seem to get anywhere beyond starving in a cave. Scavenging the island for food is too consuming, I'm always just on the edge.
>>4105045
It's fun but super easy. Also redpill threads are the absolute worst
We discuss about games based on a licensed property
Even though they're still recovering from the stigma, there was really only a brief period where they were cookie cutter crap, firmly focused on the NES and Game Boy (and SNES/Genesis) despite Nintendo's supposed guarantee of quality. Those Capcom Disney games were a rare example during the period of a studio trying to make good games instead of just capitalizing on the license. I suppose you can hold up Atari and E.T. in particular as the beginning of that behavior though.
>>4104931
To be fair, the developer of E.T. worked his ass off and shipped a low quality product due to time constraints.
But who cares, shovelware is here to stay and will plague yard sales for years to come.
"$5.00 for Mary Kate and Ashley's Applebee's Restaurant Manager Simulator presented by Applebee's"
Who the fuck rebuys these games? Is shovelware destined for the junkyard?
My fellow eternal Anglos will verify the awesomeness of this game.
What kind of person you were?
>Walk forward and hit the dog twice.
>Jump to hit twice.
>Roll to dodge.
>Charge under the dog when it jumps.
>Get squashed because you suck at games
>>4104251
Last one.;_;
The kind of person who doesn't stretch Spyro to widescreen.
my strategy was to move erratically as soon as the dog moves and hope I don't get hit, because I was a kid and they made me panic
What's the best Castlevania clone and why is it pic related?
I'm tired of you fellating and overinflating that game, shitposter.
Rusty is the best clonevania.
>>4107353
Super Metroid. It was a rip off of Simon's Quest.
Slow down with the shitposts, my friend.
The only Castlevania game for PC was a (bad) port of Castlevania 1 on DOS, not as bad as amigavania but still bad, avoid it.
>>4107206
Castlevania 64
How come the second Metroid aged so much worse than the first and third ones?
It didn't.
>>4106616
>extremely linear design
>shitty powerups like spiderball
>terrible music compositions besides the first map's theme
>boring enemy/boss designs
>>4106614
The first one has aged like dogs balls too though.
Why does 4chan block dreamcast and saturns from browsing the site?
Also Saturn thread
Because it's administered by mouth-breathing retards and an absentee chink landlord?
considering buying a netlink and (hopefully) and cheap netlink game myself. Ive always been impressed that you can still directly call other systems and play online long after seganet has died
>>4106527
because the browsers they support are too old.
Why does this look like total shit compared to the NES?
Are you only playing this bc your favourite YouTuber covered it?
>>4106371
I don't think it looks bad however the gameplay on the other hand suffers greatly from bad hit detection.
>>4106406
This, it also makes Simon slow as a snail.
At least HC gave us one of the best OSTs in the series.
I like the colour scheme of the left one, but I like how the right one actually says Super Nintendo on it. Why did this never get a PAL release?
Because the SNES (and Nintendo in general before the Wii, excluding handhelds) never sold enough in europe to justify localising countless hardware revisions.
Inb4 butthurt and trolling.
>>4105936
Get the super Nintendo and import the super Famicom controllers
Problem solved
>>4105958
> >it's a "Neverthesamecolorfag thinks he's relevant in the world" episode
This is the best X game prove me wrong
>>4105613
Close, but you posted the wrong version.
>>4105631
But why so, anon?
>>4105613
It's the exact same game as X1 and X2 except with worse stage design and bosses.
This isn't a discussion of which was better, because that's been done to death.
Which one was more powerful?
>>4105391
I believe the snes overall was, it came out a but later so it naturally would, but the genesis had a much faster processor then the snes allowing it to do some incredible stuff just not possible on snes.
/vr/ still believes you can't like both and that you must choose a side.
>>4105396
I think most of us do like both I know I have fallen into the prosega shitposting crowd because I just get so damn sick of hearing about how powerful the snes is what a piece of shit the genesis is and how its music sounds like farts and other dank underage /vr/ memes
I think they both have their advantages though if you want to push sprites around really fast you need the genesis.
If you want a pretty rpg you want the snes higher color count cause frames arent the highest importance
>>4105391
The Genesis has 32x and CD FTW. The SNES is the first nintendcuck machine where they just kept coming out with Mario sequels.
Recently i've been playing my old systems again and i'd like to play smth new, anyone got some good recommedations that not anyone knows? Preferebally on SNES and Mega DriveWhy are Retro Games so much more fun than most modern games holy shit
>>4105269
Not Everyone knows*
dunno if everyone knows it or not, but played Alien Soldier recently and it was really good.
>>4105287
>first post is troll post
Never change, /vr/
What's the best emulator to play Super Famicom games in netplay? Bsnes seems to need to run using RetroArch for that to work, and that might be difficult to setup if you don't have a computer to spare for a Linux distro tailored to that purpose.
>>4105074
Retroarch works fine in Windows.
>>4105102
>retroarch
>works fine
>>4105110
Let me put that another way, it doesn't work any better in Linux.
