Get a Rygar in there, anything Williams is ace, Tapper, Spy Hunter, Crystal Castles, Elevator Action.

Is this going to be open to the public, or just a private thing?

I went into Brandish 2 expecting a disorienting mess, and I ended up getting a fantastic dungeon crawler that I can't put down, the camera shifting isn't nearly as bad as I expected it to be. Just got into the first town, I'm playing the snes version and I'm playing 2 first for the on-screen automap.

Ys is great.
>>
>>4104428
Yeah, I absolutely loved the first one after a bit of trial and error figuring things out. I started the sequel, but got sidetracked by some real life shit. It's at the top of my to-do list though.

Does anyone have a link to that one guy's youtube channel with all the PC-98 versions of the music tracks? As much as I love the SNES OST, the PC-98 ones were way better. I can't seem to find it though... I think his name was J-something..?

It was the Atari Jaguar. I don't think there were any ideas behind it at all.

Reducing the comparison of the consoles to a simple "our number is bigger than theirs" while implying that if you disagree or don't understand why the bigger number of bits is inherently better overall, then you're an idiot.
>>
>>4104360
granted, nobody actually knew what *-bit meant in the 90s. bigger was just understood to be better.

Well I've had a PS1 for sometime and frankly I don't know what to do with it, there just doesn't seem to be all that much to play. I even went through the trouble of installing a modchip to play """backups""", and I'm still at a bit of a loss. What does /vr/ recommend I play? Please no JRPGs or fighting games and try to go easy on the racers. I have a ton of games, but the only ones I've really sat down and played in depth have been Crash and SOTN.

FFIX.

FFVIII isn't as terrible as some people make it out to be, but I definitely enjoyed IX a lot more than VIII.

I guess in the end I slightly prefer VIII because at least it is it's own thing instead of trying to be like the older games like IX does.

Easily the best racer on the n64.
I'd even say best racer of that gen
Just play it anon. It really isn't that difficult. Just don't get over 1400kph on Silence so you don't randomly fly off the track.
>>
>>4102587
I am playing it, I just need more advice on how to play it better.
So far the best I've done is 3rd on the first circuit out of like ten attempts.
>>
>>4102592
What difficulty are you playing?
If you're in beginner, just get gooder.
if you're in more advanced cups, you need to kill your rival (rival is market with an arrow). To destroy other machines you need to double tap R while you're turning on the direction you want, it will make your machine spin. It gets some time to get it right, but for the first few cups, you don't really need to do that.

Let's have a thread talking about retro handhelds and the games on them.

I'm looking for some good GB/GBC games that are relatively unknown to try out in my Everdrive since I'm not all that familiar with the original Game Boy. I tend to prefer RPGs, Adventure games, and Platformers, but will pretty much play anything outside of puzzle games, sports, and schmups (to some degree).

>NES to SNES adaptor
>SNES adaptor for N64
34 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
>>4100637
Leaves me wondering why the RetroDuo Portable's NES adapter can't work in an actual SNES.

But then again, the only reason Master System games work in a Genesis is because they're built on the same framework.
>>
>>4100637

The SNES's CPU's instruction set contains all of the NES's CPU's instructions, so a NES to SNES adapter could work, but SNES to N64 would need emulation, since the SNES and N64 have completely different CPU architectures.

Hey /vr/ I've been testing out ePSXe on my PC and it's not handling too well.
My system is fairly recent but is getting the same results I'd get on my phone.

How are the other PS emulators?

I think it was around 1999 or so where some kind of developmental tool was made to help them optimized and budget better, and everything from Square to literal nobodies started making some crazy looking shit towards the end of the PS1 life span.
