Yeah it's the worst type of bad game. Everything looks and sounds great making you think it's going to be good so when you start playing you think you're just terrible but eventually you start to see all the cracks beyond the presentation while desperately trying to convince yourself it's still good until you have to finally come to terms that it's just poorly designed.

The jap version is a lot more playable because the damage balance aren't as retarded as the US version, but still not a great game

I doubt it because there's some total horseshit that happens with or without the big sprites. For example you can still take damage from the falling grave stones in stage 1 like a full second after the rubble is gone.

It's just a memorizer but not the fun type, I'd say something like Castlevania 3 is harder and has more interesting platforming/patterns
