> Cockroach-folk who have an incredibly short lifespan, only living two years on average, with a three year old being a venerable ancient. Their short lifespan has made them absolutely frantic in their urge to live life to the fullest, leading to intense hedonism and nigh-suicidal risk-taking.

>Humans are the perfect race by crafty use of their options. They are a middle of the road type creature with a generic boost that allows them to fill any other race's role without the negatives. They're short lives don't hinder them because they adapted lineage and have a hogher rate of birth than most other races.

Short-lived, cannibalistic faeries that love to fight. If they are not killed they will eventually self-destruct into a cloud of spores that infect plants and forces them to bear faerie-fruit.
These quickly hatch into new faeries who are pretty much full grown and flee instantly lest they get poached by nearby adults.

>Chimera-folk with mostly avian/humanoid bodies, humanoid faces, horns, feathered wings, talons, and tails that live reclusively on steep tropical mountains. Their society has thrived from the use of steps to allow agriculture in their habitat, and the domestication of mountain goats. They're lives revolve around agriculture and family and they're not prone to care about much else. The males tend to have Lively feather colors which vary from tribe to tribe, while females have earthier times. Females also have smaller wings and while they can still glide, can't outright fly like males can

Would anyone else like to see an RPG where the Terrans/Earthlings/whatever-the-rest-of-you-guys-are-calling-them-this-orbit finally get their act together and invade Mars in the name of 'expansion'?

Or is that just me thinking out loud?

Well, the Martians have been cuckold by their treaty, which means their military might is about the same level as the Mercurian/Plutonian military, which is pathetic in the end run I know the Mercurians have those crazy heat weapons and Plutonians have those damn comets they love to use, but other than those things they're one trick Gublogs. I would give it to the apes for a couple of reasons such as the Lunarian and Venusian helping them we all know those werido's see the apes as kin and such, the other planets not helping the Martians because they're disgusting NEET's that talk the big talk but run into their bunkers when shit hit's the fan, and surprisingly the apes seem to be more intelligent then our favorite jackasses, which makes the apes more likely to win. However, in the end run while we all would be happy if those little red faggots were wiped out, do we need to have Sol War 2: Homo Sapiens Boogaloo?

I understand that fantasy is fantastic and doesn't even need to concern itself with reality but Earthers getting to Mars is completely unbelievable.

Even then, how they hell would they fuck up us Martians when they can't even Crack through their own thin planetary crust to get at our geofronts?
>>
>>55289221
Stop talking shit, you little red faggot. You have no geofronts on Earth, we all have an agreement of not doing that. Remember the fucking treaty, or does the great Saturnian military need to drop another Von Neumann machine on your little dusty world? Did you forget that your world was nice and lush till you started the first Sol War, or is your education that poor?

Wanna know the best part? We tend to put into vote what's the next campaign and next system we use.

99% of the time it's PF and when I ask why we can't try something new, it's always "Pathfinder does it better." or "I don't wanna learn new system when it can easily be homebrewed in Pathfinder".

The only reason 5th is allowed was because it was to them, a dumbed down version of PF.

If it wasn't similar at all to PF or any of the other D20 stuff, they would have said no.

Hey lads.
Still working at building a Theocratic state for my players to have shenanigans in. Tech level is a little schizo for religious reasons (borderline late 17th c science but society is still at a 15th/16th c. level. So, for instance, there's guns but no true factories, cartridges but little mass production).
Anyway, was wondering if any of you had some favorite theocracies to share. I'm looking to build a system with good and bad elements in kind rather than the standard 'lel corrupt organized religion' spiel.
So:
>What's your favorite example of a theocracy (fictional or real)?
>why?
&
>What are your least favorite theocracy tropes?
>why?
17 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
I've yet to see a theocracy done well in any setting, they never truly capture the complexity real-life theocracies had.

I always quite like the Ancient Egyptian system where the spirit of a deity (horus in their case) was believed to enter the body of the Pharoah during the coronation. In general I quite like the idea of the monarch as a living god in a fantasy setting.

It provides some excellent oppertunities for cuteness as well if another character becomes close friends with an extremely sheltered 'living god' and becomes the only person in their life who treats them like a human being.
>>
If you wanted to lift a religion from my setting:
>Piety is the state religion of most nations and kingdoms in [Continent], officially centered in the Pontiffric of [Country]. The Grand Cathedral of [City] is the seat of the High Pontiff and his Cardinals, who issue formal decrees that carry Divine Authority of the Lord-On-High. Pious people of all walks of life are taught to venerate hundreds of Saints, and strive to emulate their example.
>Alignment: Lawful Good
>Symbol: Crossed Keys Of Heaven and Earth
>Holy Reference: The Concordat Of the Lives of the Saints
>An exhaustive and illuminated manual containing biographies and legends of The Saints. Pious believers are instructed to study, quote, and invoke the teachings of these saints in their daily lives and when dealing it adversity. Clerics of the Church must adventure across the land to discover and record the lives of potential saints whom they encounter, and preparing and publishing a Saintly Almanac is a requirement for promotion in priestly ranks.

>The Pious Trine
>Lawful Good: The Lord-on-High
>A stern, guiding father figure who offers afterlife to the worthy.
>Neutral: The Prodigal Son
>Represents the failings and redemption of penitent men.
>Chaotic Evil: The Winnower
>Tempts mortals to give in to selfish urges prove their unworthyness

So I've been experimenting with an AFMBE campaign set in Roman occupied Britain. Outside of using Hadrians wall, I'm actually kind of stumpt as to how to keep that interesting, but that's probably because I don't often act as GM/not creative. Anyone else experimented with zombies throughout history?

I did one during the Weimar Republic, where all the Jews, Communists and other undesirable minorities turned into Zombies. The characters were supposed to be hired by an Austrian NPC with the dilletante template who had a solution, but somehow I never managed to get any players.

How do you handle romance in-game? Specifically, when one of the players wants to romance one of the bad guys?

Give 'em opportunities to have some back n' forth, mention the two of them going out and spending time together, culminate in a declaration of love, fade to black.

Done.
>>
>>55287484
I mainly GM MonsterHearts, it's a teen drama game so romance drama is a big part of the game usually. I've never had a player want to romance one of the villains but if it did happen, we'd play it out with the social rules the same as usual and see what happened.

If they literally just say "I try to seduce her" I'd shoot them down, if they present good enough tactics then I'd let them make some ability rolls. Something like having an ally feign death via spell or potion to convince her that they did it and they're on her side, I'd let them make some deception or charisma rolls. That would only win her initial truat though, and you'd have to split the guy from the party.
