I'm given to understand that not a great deal has changed since the Crusade. They were always pretty weird and they signed a treaty with the Emperor that lets them do their own thing.

His basic response was "OH DEAR GOD WHAT ARE YOU DOING" and banning them from salvaging Chaos ships to use again because some of them are superior ship types.
Not entirely sure he thought that through, though. The Imperium doesn't exactly have that many ships to spare, and the Admech have developed ten thousand years of anti-Chaos tricks.
He also forced them to produce Cawl's new designs to arm the Primaris, although that probably wasn't a huge deal given there's not many of the,. Otherwise Mars has carried on exactly as before, since the Synod doesn't really give a fuck.

Depends on the setting.

It typically involves destroying your soul so that it can't enter the afterlife but continues to animate your corpse. Typically this drives you crazy if you weren't before.

The specific rituals behind lichdom are purposefully vague. The point is that whatever you need to do to acquire eternal undeath is so heinous and foul that it will doubtlessly make you an evil individual, if you weren't in the first place. You will need to do things that no one with a conscience could ever stomach doing.

The details are up to you but in most settings where lichdom is a thing, the rituals required to obtain it will inevitably turn you evil.

Get something to use as a herdstone. Do a cool conversion. In fact just do something cool with brayherds in general.

First for AoS matched army building is too restrictive, they should switch to something like 40k

AoS is too simplified for that kind of force org. Heroes, battleline, artillery, behemoths and other. Not really something to build a force org chart around.

The only two ways which I can come up with are 1) use a hexagonal map, and don't expect the tiles to be on the same level with each other - some hexes might be relatively higher or lower from the observed plain (you could use different colors for different "heights", go nuts!) or 2) You need to several different 2D maps for each layer of space you intend to use, and stack them on one another. Might be a bit of a hassle if you have more layers than 3, but it is what it is.

An alternate way of doing it would be to assign a 3rd coordinate for each hex. so something like 0 24 42 would be 24th row, 42nd column and on the plane, -4 4 4 would be 4th column, 4th row and 4 tiles below the plane.

Humans can't really cope with 3d maps. Or well maybe we can but we're not trained to use them so we use 2d projections. Even for a world map we can have dozens of different kinds of maps and it's a relatively simple terrain, nothing overlaps anything. Mapping is not about making everything 100% accurate to real life, a good map is one that contains accurate information that you need, if I'm curious of annual rainfall levels I'm not gonna search for it on an altitude map.

WURBG. it completely sucks the fun out of deck building and necessitates an annoying level of mana fixing. any player who gravitates towards WURBG decks is probably missing half the point of the format. i hate when people run a commander for it's colors and never actually deploy it.
