How exactly do you run a horror game without accidentally delving into subjects that one/some/all of your players do not wish to delve into?

Like I had one scenario where the group are investigators investigating a local death, and it turns out that a woman was cursed so that anyone who she loves will die the moment that they leave her sight, forcing her to be over-protective of her children to the point of abuse while at the same time causing her to become more and more deranged from days of lack of sleep.

I know at least one person in the group has had to deal with parental abuse in the past and I'm worried about making things a bit too real for them but at the same time, I think that it would be a good kickstarter to the rest of the campaign, which would deal with psychological bullshit that's designed to make the players feel uncomfortable about the whole situation.

So what should I do? Should I scrap the idea entirely or should I go through with it anyway?

if you are worried about things like that, you talk to your players beforehand.
we can't tell you what your buddies are okay with, but they can. very easily.

If it isn't weird to, talk to that person one-on-one about how they feel about child abuse in games. A lot of people are basically OK with personal traumatic event in fiction as long as they're earned, so that might solve it.

If it would be weird to do that, it's gonna be real uncomfortable in game.

I need some advice with a thing.

Basically I want my party to finish my current story arc, by fighting an Arch Devil, who will be the size of a real human when compared to our miniatures.

My problem is, if I do this it might take a while before I can outscale this thing.

Also my party is only level 5 now(they should be level 7, by the time the arc reaches this point).

My question is basically what do I do?

PROBLEM: Everytime I charge the speed gauge and use Fusion or Lumina nearby falls asleep.

I can't charge lumina attacks or assimilate enemy abilities.

I can't progress in the game.

I play a mad scientist Wizard. No one has no issues with me creating a army of golems, but the moment I want to make mechs, tanks, jets, and magic missile machine guns, everyone yells that I am crossing the line, both in game and in real life.

None of this isn't game breaking or overpowered. Is it?

Mechs=giant golems
Tanks=giant insect shaped golems
Aircraft= winged golems.
Magic missile machineguns : Replace with self cranking, rapid fire, heavy crossbow or arbalest type weapons with a variety of enchanted/anti-magic/poisoned/alchemical rounds.
Problem solved, just refluff your creations to fit the setting.

People are hyped about them (especially foils) but this Un set is going to have a larger print run than the previous ones.

Don't know if I should aim to buy them at release or wait a bit to see if the price drops.

browsed through today at my game store because I was considered buying it. Eh decided against it. Lots of dungeon material, which I consider filler because if you can't think up your own shit or copy pasta something better from what's already online you're an idiot. I was interested in the appendices. Not a lot of magical goods, some new critters but nothing fancy, only thing that caught my eye was the backgrounds - Archeologist and Anthropologist which I found interesting, basically secular sages. The Anthropologist gets some extra languages, knows all the nuances and ins and out of 1 other culture and as his/her feature can quickly learn or come up with ways to communicate. Buy if you have disposable income and want to support Wizards, otherwise, not worth the cost.

The only saving grace was even though it was $60 dollars, it was Canadian, so that's only like $45 American

I haven't been in a 5e thread in a long time, so I don't know if this information has already been sorted out, but I'm going to post my findings. I've been playing in and out of campaigns, one-shots, small adventures, and reading through the different adventures, both official, adventurer's league, and house brew.

I've noticed that some skills are more valuable than others, and have separated them into this tier list. If there already is a tier list, I haven't seen it yet, so you can just take my findings as my own study. Because of word count, I can't explain all of them, so if you have any questions what the tiers mean or why a skill is in one tier and not the other, just ask.

All right so real talk, if you had a BBEG (UGH) who had super powers based on glitches, how would you make him work?
Do you just give him the ability to fuck up any electronic with glitches or do you make him glitch out reality somehow? If so how do you balance him "glitching reality"? Should he fuck with the universes collision detection?
