How do you make bounties and hunting them down fun for the players? We're starting our game in a major port city ripe with crime and corruption. The players seem like they wanna try their hands at it before leaving the city.
Can't think of much besides asking around for clues or having to work around other bounty hunters aiming for the sane reward.
Also what's the most memorable bounty you've ever seen in your games?

Kind of depends on the players. Some of my players like an easy game and will rebel if they have to collect clues. They want to be told exactly where the guy is, use the attacks they are geared for, roll dice, see if they win, and cash in. That's fun for them, get a little cash, add ammo, move on. I personally enjoy hunting down clues and ruling out locations and suspects, but I seem to be alone in that among my friends, so we never play that way.

Card Name: Human
Types: Token Creature — Human
P/T: 1 / 1
Honestly, will HOU ever make a dent in Standard meta ? When I look at it, I don't see any card that enables any decks to rise against the current field (Temur Energy, Black Zombies, Mardu Aggro).
Am I missing something or are we good for basically the same meta until Ixalan drops ?
>>54173226
If Marvel wasn't banned, the new Bolas might see play. That's about it, really. It's just not a very exciting set. Solemnity might be a solid sideboard choice against energy decks.
>>54173226
Yeah, the "Target Player Can no longer have fun" card that's going to ruin Commander for a while.
>>54173368
Yhea, Solemnity and Nimble Obstructionist might see some fringe play in Modern as well, but I'm strictly talking about Standard here.
World-building-wise, is there really any benefit to a global criminal underworld using a proprietary currency of non-granular tokens ala John Wick?

Maybe if the legal money is easily traced, and laundering it is both slow and difficult.
MARINLETS BAMBOOZLED YET AGAIN!

When will they learn?
Hey /tg/, I need your opinion,
I'm making a new 5e character, and I need help holding a background. He's a silver Drahonborn from a far out civilization of white and silver Dragonborns that live at the bottom of the ocean, a la Aquaman and Atlantis. He was a soldier in the army that was eventually drafted into a civil way between the colors, eventually collapsing the society. Now he wanders the land looking to rebuild. Would he be a soldier background or outlander? Input is appreciated, thanks!
Also pic related.
Don't write a backstory, it won't matter.

Is that Ripster from Street Sharks?

The OP from last thread here. Apparently the GM thinks it's impossible to do the use the plane of shadow to go from one material plane to another deal. I'mma make him woke to that fact today. And yeah, Warblades aren't spellcasters, they're martial adepts.
Just curious, does anyone here use multiple systems in a campaign?
I know that certain games are better for running certain scenarios such as mass combat, tactical one-on-one, naval, dungeon crawling, etc, etc...
But have you ever used different systems in a campaign to handle those different aspects? And how did it work out if it did?
The only time I ever tried this was a mecha game, using one system for on foot and another for in robots.
At least for me, it sucked and I'd never try it again, because inevitably there will be some attempt to interact between the two systems, and that will become and increasingly annoying clusterfuck of unintentional interactions until you scrap the whole thing and just stick to one system for both.
Well that didn't take long....
Shameless self bump

Thanks for your response. I thought tg would have more to say about this but sadly they have not so yet again another shameless self bump because because and magic and shit
What do you think of World of Horror? It's a mystery solving, dice throwing, eldritch abominations fighting little game. I thought maybe /tg/ would appreciate it since it has dice, stats and reading, like those games you play
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emMlANGsxbU
And this is what the game looks like
I got bored after a few games and tired of losing sanity, but I thought you may like it
Looks interesting.
For real though, what's some good free software for making worldmaps?
predictable, moderately unhelpful reply:
GIMP
it's what I use

So I want to do a slaanesh cult who have mostly nobles and their royal guard mixed with the under hive cultists(just the basic gw cultists) I imagine the planetary governor turned to slaanesh in pursuit of his hedonistic needs and assisted the chaos cultists in his city to turn the planet to slaanesh. they called in the Emperor's children and the planet is slowly taken by slaanesh and the EC. my question is what alternate models could I use to represent the corrupted governors royal guard and the governor himself who will be my cultist champion. they will be mixed among gw cultists models but I feel it adds depth to my EC army.
pic of what his guard would look like maybe
I imagine the governor to be a fat stereotypical high lord

How advanced is the planet?
So give it me straight. What are the chances that Cawl started creating Primaris Marines from Traitor Gene-stock (which we know he had access to) and the results of his Night Lord experiments were the Reivers, and he just disseminated them to other Chapters.
If we start seeing Deathguardish tank units and Mk5ish looking close combat squads, you'll know

Im currently working on two states for a setting. One shall be a Steampunkish Mix of the Industrial England and the German Empire and the other a Mix between the French and the Russian Empire. Anyone here got some interesting ideas how these states would look, culturally?
Do either have colonies, and if so where? What are the cultures of those colonies, similar to the homeand, or more native? How much manpower do they have, and where would they get any reserves? Who has an edge in the naval/land/air game? How culturally conservative are the two powers? (As in how open are they to cultural change). Are there political movements that are big in either state? Democracy, Monarchism, Anarchy, Theocracy, Fascism, Communism? Who has what strategic and luxury materials?
>>54169550
I take it from your pic the era you're going for is roughly WWI, with say 20-30 years either side for range?

An American/German mashup would probably be Neoclassical architecture. Hitler made a point of making it modestly smooth, no frilly flowers gods or naked ladies, but massive in a brutalism kind of way.
I can't really speak for Russia but maybe it would be more middle eastern influenced like those big Aladdin castles ?
America/Germany would be an ethnic state where only robot slaves are allowed to serve the master race.
The Russian/French would be a utopia where people of all different races subjugated all the different races at once.
What would a city based around funerals and memorials be like? I'm thinking like Cairo but more extreme. I'm having a hard time deciding of people would even live there or have any interest in living anywhere near it.
