I played two one-shots, with two different groups. Both times were horrible, I do not like this game.

I dislike PBtA games in general, but I found this one especially slow and boring. It's like a Shadowrun combat stretched over a whole session. A soon as you get into the game, everything slows to a crawl, every roll takes forever. It might get faster once everyone around the table mastered the system after a dozen sessions or so, but at first the amount of variables to take into account for each roll is so overwhelming that you have to pause the action for minutes just to be sure you have everything right. Since the only way to progress in each mission is by making successful at rolls, you make a lot of them, and each one is agony.
The whole "you don't have to think of the plan in advance" thing is implemented badly, and you are still penalized for coming up with stuff on he fly, so every run quickly becomes bland and uninteresting.

I'm not fond of it.

The setting is nice, though.

Bowie didn't have heterochromia he just had one permanently dilated pupil which gave the illusion of having 2 different colors.

Basically it's more of a feature of a GM having way to complicated of critical hit rules where trauma to the head could potential result in a permanent condition.

Vehicles returning isn't really a bad thing. Once and dump set mechanics suck as they end up with basically no support.

As long as they're balanced better, but given that the ships belong to the grixis pirates and have a high chance to continue supporting mardu vehicles instead of other playstyles I dunno. I was hoping vehicles would stick to more artifact-based sets.

Having vehicles be regular is fine to me. We get equipment in every set, so standardizing another subtype is okay as long as they keep it interesting.

Endless functional reprints and trash vehicles are likely what we're going to get instead of new ideas, or vehicles with abilities that are relevant after their relevance as creatures have ended.

Give us a DAOT Codex, or a couple unit entries. That way, you could grab a unit and put it into your Imperium list, without making a whole army around it.
Like a "Men of Iron" unit, some "DOAT-Troopers" or something. Make them fuck-all expensive and powerful, though, a unit of Men of Iron should be able to plow through a unit of Terminators without breaking a sweat.

Other than that, Rak'gol codex.

It'd end up looking something like the Infinity RPG or Only War.

Either small teams of specialists with unique capabilities undertaking dangerous missions, with hints of divided loyalties or other agendas to spice things up, or a broader and grittier war scenario of grunts in the firing line of a conflict far larger than they could possibly understand.

The former seems more fun, personally, but I know a lot of people love the latter style of thing.

Depends on their role.

The royalty uses a fucking huge spear. Meant to symbolize agreements with the indigenous people of the current continent the main story takes place. Technically, it was originally a sword, but they added a shaft to it. Thankfully, the royal family is not expected to be THAT skilled with such an unwieldy, ceremonial weapon.

A bulk of the military tend to favor bludgeoning implements, namely maces, this is due to a history of the current civilization having fought and dealt with scores of undead raised by a mad king. So, smash up a body beyond use to be raised as a zombie or skeleton, now all you need to worry about is the specter that'll pop out. Oh, naturally this is paired with shields. Strength and endurance training end up making up a bulk of boot camp.

smaller folk like halflings, gnomes, and dwarves end up actually preferring spears and other polearms to compensate for their lack of reach, but they'll usually pair it with something smaller and skilled fighters will distract with the spear point then stick a knife in your knee.

Because drow, even if having eaten several courses of humble pie in this setting, still remain snobbier than high elves and fancy themselves nobility (even if the entire underdark was destroyed by the Mad King burying the place) and tend to love their swords.

There is more bronze equipment than was common in the Middle Ages. Because orcs can't sense it as they sense iron, which they eat.

There are repeater muskets, but they are rare even among the ones which invented them.
